Chapter 3587: News Of Dwarven Weapons

Lin Mu didn’t need to think hard to understand the reason.

Minister Ren.

The temple head.

The Guardian Beast Decree.

Everything that had happened today...

There was no way it hadn’t reached the royal court by now.

Lin Mu sighed inwardly.

"So it begins..."

There wasn’t much he could do about it.

The dinner continued in a calmer mood after that, the conversation drifting to lighter topics. Eventually, the group retired for the night.

They rested around midnight.

And when morning came, it was already late.

Lin Mu woke up around ten.

After a brief moment of stillness, he stepped out of his room and into the courtyard garden. The fresh air greeted him, carrying the faint scent of flowers and spiritual herbs cultivated within the palace grounds.

He immediately spotted two familiar figures.

Daoist Chu and Elyon sat at a stone table, casually eating fruits as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

Lin Mu walked over.

"You two seem relaxed."

Daoist Chu chuckled.

"Good morning to you too."

Elyon nodded slightly in greeting.

Lin Mu took a seat across from them.

"What did you find?"

The two exchanged a glance before speaking.

Daoist Chu went first.

"I reported our presence to the Immortal Court branch here," he said. "They’ve acknowledged it and will send the information to the Western Immortal Court."

Lin Mu nodded.

"And the permissions?"

"Sorted," Chu replied. "They said the king’s letter and token will be enough for our immediate needs."

Lin Mu gave a small nod.

"Good."

Then he turned to Elyon.

"And you?"

Elyon leaned back slightly, his expression calm but his eyes sharp.

"I learned quite a bit."

Lin Mu’s attention sharpened.

Elyon continued.

"About this world... and a few things you might find particularly interesting."

Lin Mu narrowed his eyes slightly at Elyon’s words, the faint curiosity in his gaze sharpening into interest.

"What kind?" he asked.

Elyon did not answer immediately. Instead, he picked up a piece of fruit and took a slow bite, as if savoring both the taste and the moment. Only after swallowing did he lean back and speak.

"I learned a few things from the general," he said. "Most of it is about trade routes, nearby worlds, and the political structure of the surrounding regions. But..." he paused slightly, his eyes flicking toward Lin Mu, "there was something more relevant to you."

Lin Mu’s attention fully focused now.

"What is it?"

Elyon set the fruit aside.

"There are dwarven-made weapons within the Huli Kingdom."

The words were simple.

But their impact was not.

Lin Mu’s brows rose immediately.

"Dwarven-made?" he repeated.

Elyon nodded.

"Not many," he clarified. "But a couple of pieces. Old ones from a few years ago. They’ve been circulating within the kingdom for some time now."

Lin Mu leaned forward slightly.

"Can I see them?"

Elyon’s lips curved faintly.

"I knew you would ask that."

He gestured casually.

"I’ve already spoken to the general. He’s in the process of having them brought here."

Lin Mu blinked once.

"...Already?"

Elyon shrugged lightly.

"It wasn’t difficult. Once he understood that we were interested, he was more than willing to help."

He added, almost as an afterthought, "We should have them by today."

Lin Mu nodded slowly, a faint anticipation forming in his mind.

"Good."

Dwarven craftsmanship was not something easily encountered.

Even across multiple worlds, their works were rare, often passed down as treasured artifacts. If there were even a few such weapons here, it could provide valuable insight into the dwarves’ techniques or perhaps even lead to further clues about the Runeweld Barren World and perhaps even the person who seemed to know Jing Clan techniques.

The conversation eased after that.

The next few hours passed calmly. Meng Bai returned to training, though his focus seemed sharper than before. Cattaleya lounged comfortably in the courtyard, occasionally observing but mostly enjoying the quiet. Daoist Chu continued his relaxed demeanor, while Elyon remained observant as always.

It was nearing midday when a familiar figure arrived.

Minister Ren.

The foxkin official approached with a composed expression, though the moment he saw Lin Mu, his posture straightened instinctively, and his gaze lowered.

"Honorable Disciple Lin Mu," he said respectfully. "His Majesty invites you and your companions to the Royal Court."

Lin Mu already had a feeling about this.

"...I see."

There was no avoiding it.

He stood up.

"Let’s go."

The group followed Minister Ren through the palace grounds. As they approached the Royal Court, Lin Mu immediately noticed something was different.

The atmosphere.

It was... heavier.

Not in terms of pressure, but in significance.

As they entered the court hall, the changes became obvious.

The banners had changed.

New ones had been added alongside the original royal insignias. These banners bore the motifs of the four Guardian Beasts, intricately woven with golden thread. At the center of each banner, written in elegant and bold script...

Was a name.

Lin Mu.

He stopped walking for half a second.

"...They really did this."

For a brief moment, he genuinely considered turning around and leaving.

But before he could act on that thought, his gaze shifted forward.

And then... He froze.

At the head of the court, where the throne stood...

There were now two.

One was the king’s original throne.

The other...

Was massive.

Twice the height.

Far more ornate.

Decorated with carvings of the Guardian Beasts, inlaid with shimmering stones and rare materials that radiated faint spiritual energy. It was not just a throne, it was a statement of authority.

Lin Mu felt something inside him crack slightly.

"I should have stayed in bed today..."

Behind him, Cattaleya let out a quiet chuckle.

Daoist Chu smiled faintly, clearly amused.

Elyon looked like he was struggling to maintain his composure.

Only Meng Bai stood calmly.

After everything he had learned yesterday, this... felt manageable.

He even leaned slightly toward Lin Mu and whispered.

"Master... take it in stride."

Lin Mu glanced at him.

"This is the least they can do to honor you," Meng Bai added seriously.
