Chapter 3738: A Crazy Product
Chapter 3738: A Crazy Product
The discussion about the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect continued for some time after that, though both Lin Mu and Lady Kang understood there was little more they could do for now.
Entering the sect itself would require planning. Finding the vault would require even more. And obtaining the third ring without exposing it to anyone would demand patience. There was simply no point rushing.
As such they shifted to other matters.
Lin Mu thought of the task Lady Kang had once entrusted to him and looked toward her.
"What about your clan seal?" he asked.
Lady Kang immediately understood.
The lost seal.
The heirloom of the Great Kang Clan.
The object lost somewhere in the endless Void.
She shook her head lightly.
"No progress."
Lin Mu frowned slightly.
"I thought you were searching for it."
"I am," Lady Kang replied with a helpless smile. "But unlike the vault, the seal was lost inside the Void. Tracking it is several times harder."
She poured more tea for both of them before continuing.
"I have been searching for the approximate region first. Pyxis helps but the Void itself is troublesome. There are too many distortions."
"And honestly..." she sighed lightly. "I have been focused on the vault lately."
Lin Mu nodded.
That made sense.
Between her businesses, the search for the vault, clan affairs and all her other duties, she probably barely had time to rest.
"As soon as you find anything," Lin Mu said seriously, "I’ll search for it first."
Lady Kang smiled.
She knew he would not go back on his word.
The conversation gradually relaxed after that.
They talked about recent happenings throughout the Immortal Realm.
Merchant routes.
Shifting politics.
New factions rising.
Worlds discovered.
Ancient ruins unearthed.
Lady Kang also talked about her businesses.
Several trade routes in the Southern Court had expanded. Two new subsidiaries were established. One merchant alliance had collapsed after offending the wrong people. Min Ju occasionally added information whenever needed.
Lin Mu listened with interest.
It was honestly surprising how much happened while he secluded himself.
Then suddenly he remembered something.
"Oh."
Lady Kang looked up.
"I have something for you."
Lin Mu took out a barrel.
It landed on the table with a soft thud.
Lady Kang blinked.
"What is this?"
Min Ju looked over curiously too.
"Daoist Chu and the others told me I should show it to you," Lin Mu said. "They thought it would sell very well."
He opened the lid.
Inside was clear liquid.
At first glance it looked like water.
Yet there was something different about it.
It reflected light strangely.
Almost softly.
Lady Kang reached out and took a single drop.
The moment it touched her finger...
It vanished.
Absorbed instantly.
A few breaths later her expression changed.
She stared at her hand.
The skin on her finger had changed.
It became smoother, softer and brighter.
The glow looked natural unlike some immortal skin elixirs that made one shine as if they were covered in oil.
The effect spread slowly through her hand.
Lady Kang raised her brows.
"What?"
She was genuinely surprised.
She slowly touched her own skin as the difference was obvious. And this shocked her even more. Because she already used the best products money could buy.
Immortal elixirs.
Rare ointments.
Rose essence refined over millennia.
Things even immortals struggled to obtain.
And yet... This still worked.
Min Ju looked at Lady Kang’s hand.
Then at the barrel.
Then back again.
Her expression became serious.
Lin Mu nodded.
"I made it after my Water Dao comprehension improved."
He looked oddly proud.
"I call it Supple Skin Mystic Water."
"It nourishes the skin."
Silence.
Lady Kang stared at the barrel.
Min Ju stared at the barrel.
Then both women slowly turned toward Lin Mu.
Their eyes were glowing.
Lin Mu suddenly felt danger.
Lady Kang slapped the table.
"I’ll take it!"
Lin Mu blinked.
"I’ll take all of it!"
Min Ju nodded immediately.
"All of it!"
Lin Mu looked a bit awkward.
"Uh... sure?"
He really had not expected this reaction.
Though thinking back...
Cattaleya had reacted similarly.
Lady Kang leaned forward.
"How much can you make?"
"How long does it take?"
"What materials?"
"What refinement process?"
"Can it scale?"
"Can production increase?"
Questions flew nonstop.
Lin Mu blinked.
"Umm..."
"I don’t really need materials."
The two women paused.
Lady Kang narrowed her eyes.
"How do you make it then?"
Lin Mu simply demonstrated.
He closed his eyes.
His Water Core spun.
A faint fluctuation spread.
Several moments later...
His skin became slightly dry.
A few drops of transparent liquid emerged from his fingertip and floated upward.
"Like this," Lin Mu said honestly.
Silence.
The teapot slipped from Min Ju’s hand.
CLANG!
Thankfully it was an immortal tool.
So it survived.
Min Ju slowly looked up, ignoring the precious pot.
Her face was frozen.
"You..."
Her voice trembled.
"You make it from your sweat!?"
The room exploded.
Lady Kang stood up instantly.
"WHAT!?"
Lin Mu blinked.
"No?"
Lady Kang had already stepped back.
Min Ju looked horrified.
"You’re selling body fluids!?"
Lin Mu stared.
"What body fluids!?"
"You literally squeezed it out of your skin!"
Lin Mu looked genuinely confused.
"That isn’t sweat!"
Min Ju pointed accusingly.
"Liquid came out of your skin!"
"It was generated by my comprehension of Water Dao and Vitality!"
Lady Kang covered her forehead.
"Lin Mu..."
"Yes?"
"You explained this in the worst possible way."
Lin Mu looked helpless.
"I just showed it?"
Min Ju still looked traumatized.
Lady Kang slowly sat back down.
She looked at the barrel.
Then at Lin Mu.
Then back at the barrel.
Her expression changed several times.
Businesswoman instincts fought against dignity.
Eventually...
Business won.
She pointed at the barrel.
"I still want it."
Min Ju looked at her.
"Lady!"
Lady Kang nodded firmly.
"It works."
"But..."
"It works!"
Min Ju struggled.
She looked at the glowing skin.
Then at the barrel.
Then at her own hand.
Inner conflict began.
Several seconds later she quietly asked.
"Can... I try one drop?"
Lady Kang instantly smiled triumphantly.
