Chapter 3745: Discussing The Infiltration Plan
Chapter 3745: Discussing The Infiltration Plan
A few more days passed in Mantleheim while Lin Mu and Lady Kang continued discussing the matter of the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect.
What had initially been a simple idea of infiltration had already expanded into something far more complicated. The moment they learned where the vault was located, Lin Mu understood that this would not be a simple search.
He was heading toward one of the greatest powers of the Eastern Immortal Court. Every action needed planning and every mistake could potentially draw the attention of monsters that had lived for over a hundred thousand years.
Lady Kang had naturally not stayed idle either.
The moment the discussion had ended previously she had already begun moving people.
Information networks were activated.
Merchants were contacted.
Old channels reopened.
Branch offices were ordered to investigate.
Even her shipping fleets that regularly traveled around the Eastern Immortal Court had been given instructions to gather information whenever possible.
Weeks passed like this.
Finally the newest information arrived.
Lin Mu gathered everyone in one of the private halls of Mantleheim. This time the dwarves were intentionally excluded from the discussion. Lin Mu had no desire to drag them into matters involving the Hardliner Faction and one of the strongest sects in existence.
Only his companions were present.
Lady Kang sat beside the table while Min Ju stood nearby holding several jade slips. Meng Bai, Daoist Chu, Cattaleya and Elyon all sat around watching with curiosity.
The matter of infiltration was already known to them.
Lin Mu had explained the existence of the vault and the inheritance hidden inside. He had also told them about the objects he saw in that strange dream, especially the Left and Right Stained Fangs of Yazi.
Naturally, he kept the truth hidden.
The ring remained his secret.
Lady Kang took out a formation disc and placed it upon the table.
A moment later she activated it.
Light spread outward and formed a large floating screen in the middle of the hall.
Streams of information appeared.
Maps.
Buildings.
Population records.
Transport routes.
Formation layouts.
Images of cities.
Sect compounds.
Everyone instinctively leaned closer.
The projection displayed an immense world.
Mountains floated in the sky.
Rivers crossed entire continents.
Countless structures spread across the surface.
At first glance it looked like a massive kingdom.
Then they noticed the robes.
The symbols.
The banners.
Everything belonged to one power.
The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect.
The room remained quiet for several minutes as everyone read.
Finally Lady Kang spoke.
"The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect differs greatly from most sects." she said calmly. "Even among world sects it is unusual."
The image shifted.
Cities appeared.
Crowds walked through streets.
Markets bustled.
Children ran around.
Ordinary people could be seen everywhere.
"The sect allows mortals to live on the world itself." Lady Kang continued. "Of course they are not outsiders. These are natives or descendants of natives. Migration into the world is heavily restricted."
Meng Bai blinked.
"There are normal people there?"
"Yes." Lady Kang nodded. "The world still functions as a civilization. Villages, towns, merchant cities, clans, guilds and aristocratic families all continue existing."
Daoist Chu stroked his beard.
"That sounds more like a kingdom than a sect."
"Exactly." Lady Kang replied.
The image changed again.
Several other worlds appeared.
"These are their branch locations."
Markers lit up one by one.
"Eight branches in the Eastern Court."
Two more appeared.
"Two in the Southern Court."
Another.
"One in the Northern Court."
Finally a small light.
"One minor branch in the Western Court."
Meng Bai looked surprised.
"They have spread that far?"
Lady Kang nodded.
"The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect long surpassed being merely a sect."
Daoist Chu narrowed his eyes.
"Can these branches be used?"
Lady Kang already expected the question.
"It is possible." she answered. "Branch disciples are periodically sent to the main sect."
Meng Bai brightened.
"Then master can just join one?"
Lady Kang shook her head.
"The process is slow."
New information appeared.
Promotion systems.
Training periods.
Selection methods.
"Most branch disciples spend years or even centuries before entering the main sect."
Meng Bai immediately deflated.
"Oh."
Lady Kang smiled faintly.
"However..."
Everyone looked up.
"The branches send yearly tributes to the main sect."
Lin Mu’s eyes sharpened.
Supplies.
Resources.
Personnel.
Delegations.
All possible entry points.
Lady Kang continued.
"The tribute caravans move regularly and have access to the sect world."
Lin Mu silently noted it.
The image shifted again.
This time the entire world appeared.
Lady Kang pointed toward it.
"The world itself originally had only a minor branch of the sect."
Everyone looked surprised.
"This entire world?" Elyon asked.
Lady Kang nodded.
"Yes."
She enlarged the image.
"Long ago this was merely a normal immortal world."
Then another image appeared.
Expansion maps.
Territories changing color.
Cities disappearing.
New structures, rising.
"The expansion began after the decline of the Hardliner Faction."
Lin Mu watched quietly.
"The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect expanded aggressively." Lady Kang continued. "Over time it absorbed almost everything."
Meng Bai frowned.
"What happened to the people already there?"
Lady Kang changed the display again.
Old kingdoms appeared.
Smaller sects.
Clans.
Merchant organizations.
"The kingdoms were annexed."
New images appeared.
Sect banners lowered.
Families joining.
Cities integrated.
"The smaller sects either left, joined willingly or disappeared."
Daoist Chu sighed.
"Typical."
"The royal families had little choice." Lady Kang continued. "By then many already had deep connections with the sect."
The image changed again.
Merchant guilds.
Trading halls.
Cultivator clans.
Independent organizations.
"These remained."
Lin Mu looked up.
"They allowed them?"
Lady Kang nodded.
"Commerce remained useful."
Elyon crossed his arms.
"So the world became a sect."
Lady Kang looked toward him.
"Exactly."
"The sect and the world are now effectively the same thing."
Silence fell.
Everyone finally understood the scale.
Lin Mu thought back to previous sects he had seen.
Compared to this...
They looked tiny.
Meng Bai quietly raised his hand.
"So..."
Everyone looked at him.
"...How do we sneak into an entire world?"
Silence followed.
Even Lady Kang paused.
Cattaleya burst out laughing first.
"That’s actually a good question."
Daoist Chu rubbed his forehead.
"Boy skipped straight to the important part."
