Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3774: An Elaborate Plaza

Chapter 3774: An Elaborate Plaza

The moment Lin Mu and Elder He Jian stepped through the final teleportation array, he found himself standing within a structure that far exceeded his expectations.

He had naturally expected the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect to possess a large teleportation hall. Any organization that governed an entire world would need transportation infrastructure on a massive scale.

But this?

This was beyond anything he had imagined.

The hall stretched so far that Lin Mu could barely see its opposite end. By rough estimation alone, the structure measured over a kilometer across, perhaps even larger.

Towering pillars rose toward a ceiling that glittered with countless formation inscriptions. Streams of immortal light flowed through the walls like rivers, feeding the massive arrays that occupied much of the floor.

Dozens upon dozens of teleportation circles were active simultaneously. Some flashed with silver light, with others glowing blue, gold, green, or violet depending on the destination and type of array being used.

Every few moments, groups of cultivators would appear while others vanished. The constant activity never seemed to stop and thousands of people moved throughout the hall; sect disciples, elders, merchants, visiting immortals, couriers, officials and of course servants.

The sheer volume of traffic made Lin Mu feel as though he had arrived in the center of an immortal empire rather than a cultivation sect. For a brief moment, he simply stood there staring.

Thankfully, Little Bull’s personality made such behavior completely natural. His eyes widened, his mouth hung open slightly and his head constantly turned from side to side as he looked at everything.

"Woooah..." Little Bull muttered.

He Jian chuckled. "Big, isn’t it?"

Little Bull nodded vigorously. "Bigger than Honey God Village."

The old man laughed loudly. Several nearby disciples glanced over before smiling at the sight. Many of them had experienced something similar during their first visit. To a villager, the place probably seemed larger than an entire world.

Lin Mu continued observing discreetly while maintaining his act.

The hall was even busier than many of the major city teleportation centers he had visited before. Then again, when he thought about it, such a thing made perfect sense. This was the Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect.

One of the most powerful organizations in the entire Eastern Immortal Court.

Its territory encompassed an entire world. Its disciples numbered in the millions. Its influence extended across countless other worlds. A transportation hub like this was practically a necessity.

Still, one question immediately formed in Lin Mu’s mind.

’How many halls like this existed?’

Surely one structure could not handle the needs of an entire sect world.

Before he could ask, Elder He Jian seemed to notice Little Bull’s curiosity. "This is only one of the teleportation halls," the old man explained.

Little Bull blinked. "Only one?"

"Indeed." He Jian pointed vaguely toward the distance. "There are hundreds throughout the world."

Little Bull stopped walking. "Hundreds!?"

The old man nodded. "This world is larger than you can currently imagine."

Little Bull scratched his head. "How many villages fit inside?"

The question caused several nearby disciples to laugh.

He Jian rubbed his beard thoughtfully. "Probably more than you can count."

Little Bull appeared utterly stunned. Lin Mu internally noted the information. ’Hundreds of teleportation halls.’

The scale of the sect truly was monstrous.

The pair soon approached one of the administrative checkpoints near the exit. Lin Mu instinctively prepared for something resembling immigration procedures. Most major worlds conducted inspections for incoming visitors.

Especially worlds controlled by powerful organizations.

Yet no such thing happened. Instead, He Jian simply produced a jade token. The token was dark blue and engraved with the symbol of flowing rivers surrounding a mountain peak.

Seeing the token, the attendant immediately straightened and respect appeared in his eyes.

"Elder He Jian."

The old man nodded casually. The attendant activated a small formation, the token flashed briefly and a moment later the formation dimmed.

"Identity confirmed." The attendant stepped aside immediately. "Welcome back, Elder."

No further questions were asked, no inspections were conducted and no records were demanded. Lin Mu realized the authority carried by an elder’s token was substantial. The old man simply walked through.

Little Bull followed behind obediently. Several attendants even bowed slightly as they passed. Only after exiting the hall did Lin Mu finally see what existed beyond it. A massive open plaza spread before them.

The area stretched for several kilometers and was divided into numerous sections. At first glance it resembled a bustling market. Yet upon closer inspection, Lin Mu realized it served an entirely different purpose.

Countless stalls filled the plaza.

But unlike merchant booths, however, these stalls belonged to various divisions of the sect. Disciples stood behind counters while carrying banners and signs, while messages constantly echoed throughout the area.

"Alchemy Division materials heading toward Outer Court South Region!"

"Urgent delivery requests accepted here!"

"Spear Division reports to be submitted before sunset!"

"Formation maintenance assignments available!"

"Immortal Beast Division procurement requests!"

The entire plaza operated like a massive logistical center as disciples rushed from one stall to another, messages were exchanged, storage treasures changed hands, assignment tokens were distributed and records were updated.

The atmosphere reminded Lin Mu more of a governmental administrative district than a cultivation sect.

Little Bull stared blankly. "What are they doing?"

He Jian smiled. "Working."

Little Bull frowned. "In a market?"

"This is not a market." The old man gestured toward the surrounding stalls. "The teleportation halls serve more than travel between worlds. They also connect different regions within the sect."

Little Bull listened carefully."Because the sect is big?"

"Exactly." The old man nodded approvingly. "Goods, information, personnel, materials, requests, reports. Everything moves through these networks."

Little Bull pointed toward a disciple carrying several crates.

"He’s delivering things?"

"Yes."

"Then he goes home?"

The old man laughed. "He finishes his task and uses the teleportation array to travel elsewhere."

Little Bull looked amazed. "Just like that?"

"Just like that."

Lin Mu quietly absorbed every detail. The level of organization was astonishing. The amount of resources required to sustain such a system must have been enormous since teleportation arrays consumed tremendous amounts of energy.

Yet here they were being used almost casually.
