Chapter 3778: Heading To The Central Division
Chapter 3778: Heading To The Central Division
On the deck of the ship, Little Bull looked around curiously before asking, "Where are the others?"
"What others?" Zhou Ren asked.
"The people."
"There are no people."
Little Bull blinked. "Just us?"
"Just us."
The young man seemed surprised. "Why?"
Zhou Ren proudly puffed out his chest. "This is one of the privileges granted to sect elders."
Little Bull’s eyes widened. "Elder is important?"
Elder He Jian rolled his eyes. "A little."
"A little?" Zhou Ren repeated incredulously.
The disciple looked as though he wanted to protest, but ultimately gave up. Little Bull merely nodded. To him, being important apparently changed very little as the ship soon lifted off.
The formation arrays activated smoothly, and a soft hum spread through the vessel before the massive craft accelerated. The scenery blurred almost immediately as the docks vanished behind them and the teleportation hall became a distant speck.
The enormous plaza shrank rapidly and within minutes they were soaring high above a vast forest.
Little Bull rushed to the railing. "Trees!"
Zhou Ren looked at him strangely. "Yes. Trees."
"So many."
The disciple resisted the urge to point out that they were currently flying over an entire forest. Instead he simply smiled. Meanwhile, Elder He Jian decided to continue one of the exercises he had practiced during the journey.
The old man pointed downward.
"What is this place called?"
Little Bull squinted and for several seconds he appeared to be thinking very hard.
"Eastern Rise Forest?"
Elder He Jian nodded approvingly. "Close."
Little Bull brightened. "I was right?"
"Almost." The old man pointed further ahead. "This is the Eastern Oak Forest. The Eastern Rise Forest is farther east."
"Oh." Little Bull nodded.
There was no embarrassment, and no disappointment. He simply accepted the correction and moved on. The old man smiled slightly. Throughout the past eleven months, Little Bull had absorbed a surprising amount of information.
His memory remained excellent despite his supposed amnesia. The young man simply lacked the background that most cultivators possessed. Lin Mu internally reviewed everything he had learned.
They were currently on the Outer Court Continent. One of three massive continents that divided the Heavenly Stream Guardian World and their destination was the Central Division of the Outer Court.
The administrative heart of the entire Outer Court Continent.
According to He Jian, the place housed thousands of elders and over a hundred million disciples. The number alone was difficult to comprehend. Even Lin Mu occasionally found it absurd.
Before arriving here, he had already learned some statistics regarding the sect.
The Heavenly Stream Guardian Sect possessed over three billion members on this world alone.
Three billion.
The figure sounded almost impossible.
Of course, only around one billion of those were actual disciples. The remaining two billion consisted of servants, administrators, craftsmen, workers, family members, and various dependents living under the sect’s protection.
Even then, one billion disciples remained a terrifying number. The scale dwarfed every organization Lin Mu had encountered previously. The Xian Sword Sect seemed tiny by comparison.
Even many immortal organizations would appear insignificant next to such numbers.
As the ship continued flying above the endless forests, mountains began appearing on the horizon. Some stretched for hundreds of kilometers, some appeared to be floating in the sky due to the clouds surrounding them and massive cities occasionally appeared below them before disappearing into the distance.
Little Bull stared at everything with open fascination. Lin Mu meanwhile silently memorized every detail.
Two hours passed quickly aboard the flying ship.
At first, Little Bull had spent most of the journey staring over the railing while asking questions about everything he saw. Mountains, forests, rivers, floating islands, distant buildings, strange beasts flying through the sky, and even clouds earned his curiosity.
Zhou Ren answered most of them patiently while Elder He Jian occasionally added details whenever the questions became too complicated. Meanwhile, Lin Mu silently observed the world around him.
Even though he appeared fascinated by every little thing like a villager seeing the wider world for the first time, his mind was constantly working. Every mountain range, every road, every settlement, and every formation fluctuation was carefully noted down and memorized.
The Heavenly Stream Guardian World was truly unlike any place he had ever visited before.
The sheer density of cultivators alone was astonishing.
Even after traveling hundreds of kilometers, settlements appeared regularly below them. Some were towns dedicated to farming. Others specialized in mining, beast raising, alchemy, formation crafting, and countless other professions. Every settlement ultimately fed into the massive structure that was the sect.
It was less of a sect and more of an entire civilization.
As the ship continued forward, Zhou Ren finally pointed ahead. "We’re almost there."
Little Bull immediately perked up. "There?"
The young man leaned over the railing. Then his eyes widened. Even Lin Mu almost forgot to maintain his act for a brief moment as the sight before them was truly impressive. Far in the distance stood an enormous city.
No... Calling it a city felt insufficient.
It resembled an entire nation compressed into a single location. And as the ship approached, the true scale gradually became apparent. Lin Mu had already seen maps of the Central Division.
He had heard the measurements and he had studied descriptions, yet none of that truly prepared him for witnessing it with his own eyes. The Central Division of the Outer Court stretched across more than five hundred kilometers.
Five hundred kilometers.
Many mortal kingdoms would fit comfortably inside its boundaries. Even some smaller immortal sects could be placed within it several times over. Lin Mu found himself comparing it to the capital of the Dao Wind Continent.
The difference was immediately obvious.
The capital of the Dao Wind Continent had seemed grand when he had first arrived there decades ago. But compared to this place, it looked almost provincial. The flying ship continued descending while the city grew larger and larger.
Massive walls surrounded the entire division.
They rose like mountain ranges themselves and were covered in formation inscriptions that glowed faintly beneath the sunlight.
