Chapter 3792: Elder Test Skipped!

Chapter 3792: Elder Test Skipped!

The illusionary forest became silent as the serpent released its prey. Little Bull fell motionless to the ground, and a second later the formation announced the result.

’Defeat.’

The spectators released collective breaths and many hadn’t realized how tense they had become. The assessment finally ended as the illusion dissolved and the forest disappeared. Little Bull’s unconscious form reappeared within the assessment chamber.

A stimulating formation immediately activated around him as a jolt of lightning entered his body. Within moments, he opened his eyes.

"Did I win?" he asked groggily.

The question caused several disciples to laugh and the tension instantly disappeared. Yet while the younger disciples laughed, the elders were staring at the assessment records.

Their expressions remained serious, because they understood what had truly happened.

A mortal, a commoner, someone without cultivation and without qi, someone who should have remained weaker than every cultivator present, had defeated a First Tribulation Immortal Beast!

And that was not all, as he then pushed a Second Tribulation Stage Immortal Beast far enough to force it into using its strongest method!

One elder slowly stood. "The record is broken."

Another nodded. "The old one wasn’t even close."

A third elder looked toward Elder He Jian. "How exactly did you find this monster?"

Elder He Jian himself looked stunned. Even he had not expected such results. The body cultivation elders exchanged glances. Their interest had already become determination. Several of them had reached a decision.

Regardless of the final assessment ranking, they wanted Little Bull.

Many disciples also realized the significance. Several of them had been in the sect for centuries. Many were even Third Tribulation Stage Immortals.

Yet even they admitted privately that if their cultivation had been stripped away and they were placed in Little Bull’s position, they would have died long before reaching the First Tribulation beast.

The assessment records were finalized as a new entry appeared in the sect archives.

A mortal recruit. No cultivation.

Victory over a First Tribulation Immortal Beast.

Combat performance: unprecedented.

Potential evaluation: pending.

As Little Bull scratched his head and wondered if there would be food after the assessment, the elders watching had already begun preparing for the next stage. Because at this point nobody cared whether Little Bull passed.

The real question had become something entirely different.

Just how high would his final ranking be?

The combat assessment was officially concluded less than ten minutes after Little Bull emerged from the illusionary array.

There simply wasn’t any point in continuing.

Several elders had initially suggested proceeding with the secondary combat evaluation, the one involving direct observation by elders, but the proposal died almost immediately after it was voiced.

"What exactly are we supposed to assess?" one elder asked while rubbing his forehead. "His combat instincts? We already saw those."

Another elder snorted.

"We watched a mortal kill a First Tribulation Immortal Beast. What more do you want to see?"

"Perhaps we should test his reaction speed."

"Against whom?" an older body cultivation elder barked. "A recruit? A disciple? A deacon? If he accidentally kills them, are you taking responsibility?"

That immediately silenced several people. Because nobody could honestly disagree. Little Bull had already demonstrated something absurd. The gap between a mortal and an immortal was supposed to be unbridgeable.

Yet the young man had crossed it through pure physical strength alone.

The Junior Elder who had overseen the assessment, was still staring at the records in disbelief.

"His combat score is already the highest in this batch," he muttered.

"Highest?" another elder laughed. "It might be the highest in several thousand years."

Several others nodded as they knew the illusionary array had extensive records. As such comparisons could easily be made.

Most recruits struggled against opponents in their own realm and talented recruits could fight above their level. Some exceptional recruits might even challenge enemies one major realm higher.

But Little Bull had climbed through seven entire realms.

Seven! The number was ridiculous and even the elders found it difficult to process.

One elder stroked his beard thoughtfully. "The only reliable way to defeat him currently would be exhaustion."

Several body cultivation elders nodded in agreement. His strength was monstrous, his durability was terrifying and his instincts were excellent too, but to them he possessed one obvious weakness: his stamina.

The physique clearly consumed enormous amounts of energy as was the case with a lot of such physiques. The reason Little Bull had been able to fight for so long within the assessment was because the environment itself was an illusion.

As such no real energy had been consumed, no injuries had accumulated, and no real hunger had built up. If the battles had taken place in reality, the young man would have burned through food reserves at an alarming rate.

Even then, none of the elders felt that diminished his achievement. If anything, it made it even more frightening.

A physique that could challenge immortals while still remaining mortal?

Several elders could already imagine what would happen once the young man actually began cultivating. The thought alone made their hearts tremble. Meanwhile, the person responsible for all the commotion had absolutely no interest in any of these matters.

Little Bull sat on a bench while scratching his stomach.

"Elder," he asked.

"Hmm?" Elder He Jian replied.

"I’m hungry."

The old man laughed so hard his beard shook. Even after everything that had happened, Little Bull remained exactly the same.

No excitement. No arrogance. No pride. No concern about rankings. Only food.

"You’ve only been saying that for the last hour," Elder He Jian replied.

Little Bull nodded seriously. "I’ve been hungry for more than an hour."

The old man laughed again and nearby elders also chuckled. The simplicity was strangely refreshing. Many of them had spent thousands of years dealing with ambitious disciples.

Every recruit dreamed of becoming powerful. Every recruit dreamed of becoming famous. Every recruit dreamed of obtaining status. But Little Bull only seemed interested in eating.

"Come," Elder He Jian said while standing. "We’ll get food."

Little Bull instantly rose to his feet and his movements became noticeably faster as several elders watched with amusement.

"He didn’t react that quickly during combat."

"Food motivates him more than immortal beasts."

"Understandable."
