Chapter 3843: Looking Into Body Cultivation Skills

Chapter 3843: Looking Into Body Cultivation Skills

Lin Mu had already seen techniques that required cultivators to bathe in poisonous liquids, shatter their bones, burn their organs, and even replace parts of their bodies with materials taken from Immortal Beasts. The Wild Peak disciples were certainly reckless enough to attempt such things without proper preparation.

Perhaps the restriction existed to prevent an enthusiastic new disciple from finding a Top Grade technique on their first day and deciding to dissolve their own skeleton before dinner. Considering his experiences over the last two days, Lin Mu found that explanation surprisingly believable.

"Later," Lin Mu said to himself.

He had already spent plenty of time looking through cultivation techniques, so he decided to move onto another section of the library.

Body cultivation skills.

The collection was almost as vast as the cultivation technique section. Lin Mu followed the information provided by the central array and soon reached an area filled with stone tablets, books, metal plates, beast hides, and several strange objects that seemed to contain cultivation records within them.

Body cultivation skills were divided into many categories like Offensive skills, Defensive skills, Movement skills and Support skills.

There were even several smaller classifications involving grappling techniques, weapon usage, vitality manipulation, recovery methods, and specialized combat skills meant for fighting particular kinds of opponents.

Lin Mu entered the offensive skill section first and he randomly picked up a thick stone tablet.

"Hundred Ton Fist," Lin Mu read and the name sounded straightforward enough.

He began reading.

The Hundred Ton Fist was a martial skill designed for lower realm body cultivators. The practitioner needed to repeatedly temper the muscles and tendons of the arm while learning a particular method of directing vitality toward the fist.

At the moment of impact, the accumulated vitality would be released and amplify the physical force behind the punch. According to the description, a cultivator who mastered the technique could produce an impact equivalent to a hundred tons of force.

Lin Mu stared at the stone tablet, then he looked at his fist and casually clenched it.

"That’s it?"

Xukong chuckled. "You are hardly the intended practitioner."

"I know," Lin Mu replied. "But it says mastering this can take several years."

"For a normal body cultivator."

Lin Mu understood that, though he still found it slightly strange.

He had reached a point where a casual punch could produce an effect far beyond the ultimate achievement of many lower level martial skills. If Lin Mu used the Hundred Ton Fist now, the actual technique would contribute so little to his total strength that he might not even notice the difference.

Learning it would be pointless. Still, Lin Mu did not immediately leave. He had to remember his current identity.

Little Bull was a mortal.

A mortal with an extraordinary physique, certainly, though everyone believed he had never properly cultivated before. If Little Bull entered the Wild Peak library and emerged without choosing a single martial skill, someone might eventually find it strange.

Lin Mu continued browsing and he rejected several techniques immediately like Mountain Cracking Palm, Iron Hammer Elbow, Nine Boulder Kick, Charging Bull Shoulder.

Lin Mu paused at the last one. "That’s almost appropriate."

"Perhaps Little Bull was destined to learn it," Xukong joked. "Also matches with the Tyrant Bull Marrow Secrets."

Lin Mu shook his head and returned the manual. Eventually, he found a martial skill that caught his attention.

"Multiplying Fist Technique." Lin Mu opened the book.

The technique had several stages.

Hundred Fists.

Thousand Fists.

Ten Thousand Fists.

Despite the impressive names, the actual principle behind the technique was surprisingly simple. The practitioner needed to direct vitality into their fists at regular intervals while attacking. Each circulation would strengthen the next strike and allow the body to maintain a continuous rhythm of punches.

The Hundred Fists stage focused on maintaining the circulation for one hundred strikes. The Thousand Fists stage required greater vitality control and stamina. And the Ten Thousand Fists stage demanded almost perfect control over the flow of vitality within both arms.

Lin Mu read through the entire manual.

"This works." The technique was simple.

More importantly, it looked simple enough that Little Bull could understand it. If someone asked him to explain the principle, he could simply say that he punched repeatedly while making each punch stronger.

Lin Mu could already imagine Little Bull’s explanation.

’I keep punching until they fall.’

Perfect.

Lin Mu issued a copy of the Multiplying Fist Technique. Of course, he already knew that he could probably use the Ten Thousand Fists stage immediately.

The vitality control required by the technique was insignificant compared to what Lin Mu possessed. The Absolute Body Control Art alone gave him enough control to replicate the circulation method after reading it once.

He did not even need to practice.

Lin Mu selected several other offensive skills with similar principles. One was a stomping technique that released physical force into the ground. Another strengthened the fingers for gripping and tearing. The last was a simple shoulder charge that used vitality to protect the joints during impact.

They were basic and they were believable, as such they suited Little Bull perfectly.

Lin Mu moved onto defensive skills next and his enthusiasm quickly disappeared.

"Stone Skin Guard." Lin Mu read the description.

The technique hardened the skin but his natural skin was already tougher.

"Steel Muscle Shell." The technique compressed the muscles to reduce damage from blunt attacks.

Lin Mu’s muscles already did that naturally.

"Blood Cushion Art." The practitioner manipulated blood and vitality to absorb impacts.

Lin Mu could achieve a superior effect even without the Absolute Body Control Art.

Lin Mu went through dozens of defensive techniques and none interested him.

Even several High Grade defensive skills failed to compare to the raw durability of his body. His Burdenless Dominator Physique had reached a level where defensive martial skills needed to be truly exceptional before they could provide a noticeable improvement.

Lin Mu eventually selected two simple defensive skills for the sake of appearances. Then he moved toward the movement skill section. This time, Lin Mu’s interest returned.

Body cultivators had always suffered from certain limitations in movement.

Qi cultivators could use flying swords. They could ride clouds. They could manipulate the wind. They could directly use Qi to propel themselves through the air. But Body cultivators had fewer options.

Most relied upon raw speed and powerful leaps.

Higher realm body cultivators could release vitality or Immortal Essence to propel themselves through the air, though the resulting movement was often crude. Lin Mu immediately thought of High Elder Shatter Peak.

The man’s flight was incredibly fast, but it was also similar to watching someone launch themselves from a siege weapon. He could change direction, though every movement involved another violent burst of vitality.

The man flew like an uncontrolled rocket that had somehow learned where it wanted to go.
