Chapter 3945: The Spaces Hidden Within
Chapter 3945: The Spaces Hidden Within
Lin Mu placed his palm against the wall, and the moment his skin touched the weathered wood, his expression changed as there was something inside.
At first, he could only sense a faint spatial fluctuation, so faint that an ordinary immortal would have completely overlooked it. Even someone with a decent understanding of the Spatial Dao might have mistaken it for the natural spatial instability that existed within the Mad Demon Depths.
But Lin Mu knew better. He closed his eyes and allowed his Spatial Perception to spread through his palm. His consciousness slipped past the physical structure of the wood and entered the hidden spatial layer contained within it.
"What is this?" His brows slowly rose. as the space inside the wall was immensely compressed.
It reminded him of a spatial storage ring, yet the comparison was still inadequate. A normal spatial storage treasure created a pocket of space that was separated from the outside world.
Depending on the skill of its creator and the quality of its materials, that pocket could be quite large. Some high grade treasures could contain entire mountains, lakes, forests, or even small worlds.
But this was different as the space itself was not particularly large. Instead, the space had been compressed to an astonishing degree. Lin Mu carefully examined the structure and soon thought of something he had once seen in the mortal world.
"A pressurized cylinder?" He muttered in wonder.
The analogy was crude, yet it was the closest comparison he could make. A cylinder could contain a limited amount of physical space while storing an enormous amount of pressure within that confined volume.
The force contained inside could become tremendous precisely because the environment had been compressed. The spatial structure inside this wall operated according to a similarly strange principle.
Several spatial pockets had been compressed together and then those pockets had been used as layers. Within those layers were more spatial pockets and then those pockets had apparently been compressed again.
Lin Mu’s eyes narrowed.
"This is..." He paused and his mind immediately began comparing it with his own spatial storage ring.
His ring had a vast internal space, and one of its useful properties was that it could contain other spatial treasures without causing immediate spatial collapse. That was already an unusual ability.
The structure inside this wall had taken that principle several steps further. It was almost as if countless spatial treasures had been arranged into layers, compressed together, and then used to form a new spatial structure.
The amount of space itself was not the impressive part. The special part was the density of the space as each layer reinforced the next and each spatial pocket contributed its own stability.
Together, they created a structure that should have been extraordinarily dangerous which made Lin Mu’s expression become serious.
"Whoever made this understands Spatial Dao." That realization raised even more questions for the man.
The creator had already demonstrated extraordinary knowledge of formations. The outer formation had been sophisticated enough to use physical properties, movement, weight, displacement, and changing spatial variables as part of its encryption mechanism.
Now he had found a spatial construction of similar complexity. This made Lin Mu realize that the person who had created this place was certainly no ordinary Formation Master.
’They understood the Spatial Dao too.’ Lin Mu remained still for a while, carefully examining the compressed layers.
To most cultivators, his explanation would have sounded absurd.
How could one space contain another space? How could multiple spatial pockets be compressed together without immediately collapsing? How could those spaces then be connected into a stable structure?
The answers involved principles far beyond ordinary spatial storage as a mistake of even the slightest degree could cause spatial collapse. Once that happened, everything within the affected area could be shredded apart by spatial turbulence.
Even an Immortal Transcendent might find such a situation troublesome. Yet this structure had remained stable for an unknown period of time.
Lin Mu’s curiosity deepened. "This place is getting more interesting."
He did not waste any more time as his Spatial Perception continued deeper and soon he found the entrance to the compressed structure. It was extremely narrow but Lin Mu adjusted his body and stepped forward.
The moment he entered, an immense pressure descended upon him.
Boom!
His entire body sank and the spatial pressure was immediately several times greater than what he had expected. Lin Mu’s muscles tightened as the pressure continued increasing. Even his flesh trembled slightly as the compressed spatial layers pressed against his body from every direction.
It felt as though several mountains had been placed upon him, but despite that Lin Mu remained calm. After all, he had experienced far worse. The Burdenless Dominator Physique had been forged under crushing gravity that surpassed anything this place could produce.
Later, when his Gravity Sense had awakened, he had experienced a fraction of the true gravity of a sun. Compared to those experiences, this pressure was manageable.
"If I had found this place earlier, it might have been good for training." Lin Mu smirked before he took another step.
The spatial layer compressed around him as his body was forced through the narrow passage. His physique simply endured the pressure as every part of his body thrived under his endless vitality.
But his clothes were a different matter.
The robes Lin Mu wore were made from materials that could withstand ordinary combat damage. Of course ordinary was still great for the disciples of the Wild Peak when compared to an average cultivator.
But this time, they were facing something completely different as the spatial compression reached a microscopic level. The fibers of his robes began to deform and soon they started breaking apart.
The robes were gradually undone at a level invisible to ordinary vision. The individual fibers were separated, then those fibers were torn into particles and then those particles were immediately swept away by the turbulent spatial currents surrounding Lin Mu.
Lin Mu looked down and saw that his clothes were disappearing piece by piece.
"Huh." But he remained completely expressionless as there was nothing he could do about it.
"Guess I’ll have to get more robes later." He muttered as he knew the spatial pressure was too chaotic for ordinary cultivator clothing to survive.
Soon, the last remnants of his robes vanished but Lin Mu continued forward. He was now traveling through the compressed space completely naked. If anyone happened to witness the scene, their reaction would probably have been complicated.
