Chapter 3995: Astonishing Display Of Skills

The hundred-meter pillar detached from the ground, and the entire mass of earth floated upward. It hovered beneath the heavens for a brief moment before cracks spread across its surface.

CRACK!

CRACK!

CRACK!

The massive pillar split apart as pieces of stone separated from one another. Then each section changed shape as the rock stretched and its surface smoothed. Five enormous fingers emerged from each mass.

The pillar had transformed into dozens of giant stone palms!

The disciples watching from afar were completely stunned. "What is that?"

"Is he using a technique?"

"I cannot sense any Immortal Qi!"

"No Dao traces either!"

The stone palms surrounded Daoist Bone Ruler from every direction; above, below, left, right, front and behind. Even the empty spaces between the palms rapidly disappeared.

Daoist Bone Ruler’s eyes sharpened and he raised the Bone Ruler.

BOOM!

The first stone palm slammed toward him and he struck it apart as fragments of rock exploded through the air. But before the pieces could fall, three more palms arrived.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The Head of the Law Divisions disappeared beneath a storm of enormous stone hands. One palm struck from the side, another descended from above and a third closed from behind. Then all of them moved simultaneously.

RUMBLE!

The dozens of stone palms slammed together and the sound shook the plains while dust erupted into the sky.

The disciples could barely see anything. "Heavens!"

"How is he controlling so much earth?"

"Is that a Qi skill?"

An elder immediately smacked the disciple on the head. "Have you forgotten your basics?"

The disciple winced and rubbed his head. "What did I say wrong?"

"Where are the Immortal Qi fluctuations?" The disciple froze and quickly released his immortal sense.

His expression became confused. "There are none."

The elder frowned. "And the Dao traces?"

The disciple shook his head. "None."

The elder’s expression became increasingly strange as he looked toward the enormous mass of stone.

"Then what exactly are we looking at?"

Another High Elder released his Immortal Sense and his face slowly changed. "He is controlling the earth directly."

"Through a Dao Skill?"

"There are no Dao fluctuations."

"Then what is it?"

Nobody answered while Lin Mu stood calmly in the middle of the chaos. His raised palm remained steady while the dozens of stone palms continued moving according to his will, surrounding Daoist Bone Ruler in a constantly shifting formation of earth.

Lin Mu’s eyes contained a faint smile. His Water Core had allowed him to manipulate water directly and his Earth Core allowed him to manipulate earth in much the same manner. He did not need to form a conventional technique every time he wished to move the elements.

The elements themselves had become extensions of his will.

Lin Mu looked toward the enormous cluster of stone palms and called out in a leisurely voice, "Junior, do be careful. These things are rather heavy."

A moment later, the stone palms tightened.

RUMBLE!

The ground shook again as Lin Mu smiled. "After all, this old man would hate to accidentally crush the Head of the Law Division before he has had the chance to properly discipline the younger generation."

The surrounding elders stared at him while the disciples stared at the enormous stone prison. And somewhere beneath all the shock and confusion, a single thought began spreading through the minds of everyone watching.

Perhaps this really was the legendary Earth Sea Tyrant.

Because who else would emerge from the Mad Demon Depths after more than one hundred thousand years, insult the Head of the Law Divisions to his face, lecture him on combat principles, and then casually bury him beneath dozens of mountains formed from the earth itself?

The enormous stone palms trembled under the force of the collision. For several breaths, the entire mass remained completely still. Dust continued to pour from the gaps between the giant fingers, forming a thick cloud that obscured everything within.

The disciples watching from the distant plains could barely make out the enormous cluster of stone.

Their immortal senses were constantly swept aside by the lingering fluctuations, and only the strongest among the gathered High Elders could maintain a clear perception of what was happening inside.

Then a deep rumble came from within the stone prison.

RUMBLE!

The sound grew louder and several of the enormous palms began to crack.

KACHA!

A thin fracture appeared across one of the stone fingers before several more followed. The disciples watched with bated breath as the cracks rapidly spread across the palms.

BOOM!

A burst of force erupted from the center.

The giant stone hands exploded outward, sending countless fragments flying through the air. Several of the pieces were large enough to crush an ordinary Immortal, yet they were scattered harmlessly by the residual shockwaves before reaching the gathered crowd.

A figure emerged from the cloud of dust.

"Head Bone Ruler!" The elders’ let out a breath of relief.

He stepped out from among the shattered stone with the Bone Ruler still firmly held in his hand. His robes were covered in a fine layer of dust. A few strands of his hair had become slightly disordered, and there were traces of stone powder across his shoulders.

But aside from that, he looked completely unharmed as his breathing was steady and his expression remained composed. There was no blood nor any wounds. There was not even a hint that the dozens of enormous stone palms had managed to injure him.

The elders watching immediately understood what had happened.

The attack had successfully restrained Daoist Bone Ruler for several moments, forcing him to break through the stone prison with considerable force, yet its destructive power had been insufficient to injure him.

Lin Mu looked him over and then nodded approvingly.

"Good, good." His tone carried the satisfaction of an elder inspecting the progress of a junior. "At least the standards have not dropped much."

The surrounding elders immediately had strange expressions. One of them lowered his head and coughed while another turned away. Meanwhile the disciples were completely speechless.
