Chapter 2980 - 2981: Psychokinesis System
Chapter 2980: Chapter 2981: Psychokinesis System
Psychic Realm... Telekinesis?!
An idea suddenly flashed through Angel’s mind. Previously, he always felt that the special energy transformed from the energy circuits on the teapot was very familiar, but he just couldn’t recall it. Now, when he heard "Psychic Realm," the memory buried deep in his brain suddenly blossomed.
A massive flow of information began pouring into his thought forefront.
From latent memories, they became vivid images.
With the emergence of these images, Angel finally understood why he felt familiar with this special energy.
Because he had sensed this special energy from Greya before!
At that time, when Greya searched for ingredients in the Otherworld, she had a conflict with a powerful enemy and fled in defeat, eventually falling into the Nightmare Realm. Fortunately, Greya returned from the Nightmare Realm alive but lost her body.
Although Greya occupied a new body, it wasn’t easy to rapidly cultivate it. Thus, Greya chose to quickly fill the body with an energy from the Otherworld that suited her talents, before converting it into the Wizard System.
And this Otherworld energy was telekinesis.
The source of telekinesis was indeed the Psychic Realm, the very world where Greya had encountered that formidable foe while searching for ingredients.
Ryuga.Kin did make a valid point; wizards do not call this world the Psychic Realm, but rather...
Hante World!
The term ’Hante’ does not have a clear concept in the Wizards’ Realm.
But all the characters related to "Hante" generally carry a connotation of disdain. It’s a condescending look down from on high, a scorn for the Dust, a contempt for barrenness.
So, although "Hante" has no clear definition, the fact that the Wizards’ Realm refers to this world as "Hante" shows the disdain wizards have for it.
However, this derogatory term is effective only within the Wizards’ Realm... or, to be precise, the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm. Whether the other three wizard domains also refer to the Psychic Realm as Hante World, this is something Angel is not aware of.
The reason why the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm holds such disdain for Hante World mainly lies in two aspects. The first is strategic contempt; in other words, it’s not genuine disdain, but a cognitive tactic to establish a widespread impression among wizards, akin to a battle of perception.
The second reason is the combat power ceiling of Hante World, which currently seems indeed inferior to that of the Wizards’ Realm.
Currently, the strongest known entities in Hante World are the Five Three-Star Mind Masters. Their strength ranges between a Second Level True Knowledge Wizard and a Third Level True Knowledge Wizard.
The wide range is due to the varying application of telekinesis among Mind Masters, leading to significant power differences even though they are all ostensibly Three-Star Mind Masters.
Initially, when Greya was searching for ingredients in Hante World, she had a dispute with one of these Five Three-Star Mind Masters, the Deer-Monkey Granny. Although Greya was not a match for the Deer-Monkey Granny, the fact that she could escape under her attacks shows that the Deer-Monkey Granny’s strength was not substantially superior to Greya’s.
Greya was only a Level 1 True Knowledge Wizard.
From this, it is evident that the highest level of combat power in Hante World is, by comparison to the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm, considerably overrated.
Therefore, calling the Psychic Realm "Hante" World also reflects a genuine sense of derision.
However, the Five Three-Star Mind Masters are only the strongest known figures on the surface; whether there are stronger beings hidden beneath is uncertain.
Moreover, Angel harbors reservations about the common perception broadcasted across the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm that the Psychokinesis System is exceedingly weak.
Firstly, after years of Plane Conquest, the fact that Hante World can still maintain its autonomy, and the Wizards’ Realm hasn’t forcefully occupied it, suggests that the Psychokinesis System has its strengths and merits.
Moreover, Angel has personally interacted with Greya’s new body, and the energy modified by telekinesis is indeed very pure. Additionally, Greya explicitly stated that telekinesis aligns well with her talents.
What are Greya’s talents? Creativity.
Telekinesis must have its unique aspects of creativity; otherwise, it wouldn’t fit so well with Greya’s talent.
A system of energy with creativity, yet calling it too weak and devoid of merit—this, Angel does not believe.
While Angel’s thoughts raced, Ryuga.Kin continued to leisurely talk about his understanding of the Psychic Realm.
"The Psychic Realm is a vast world. In terms of territorial development, it’s somewhat similar to the Daylight Mirror Domain. Currently, the territories developed in the Psychic Realm are within the reach of Mind Masters; beyond the reach of Mind Masters lies the ocean, and at the ends of the ocean, there is the dangerous secondary continent."
"Even the most powerful Mind Masters can encounter danger at any time within the secondary continent."
At this point, Ryuga.Kin glanced at Angel and slowly said, "To my knowledge, people from the Wizards’ Realm have also explored the secondary continent, but basically, it ends in disappearance or death. Those who returned mostly had not ventured deep."
Angel actually knew something about this.
In the "Plane Conquest Record," the map of Hante World is incomplete. Only the central main continent has a relatively detailed map, while the larger and wider secondary continent overseas is all darkened out.
The Frostmoon Alliance assigns it the rank of: High Warning Zone.
The evaluation given is: A barbaric wilderness with appearances of Void Magical Creatures, extreme spatial chaos, immense danger, and low exploration cost-effectiveness.
The secondary continent is not devoid of exploration value, but compared to many other worlds, the risks involved versus the benefits gained do not offer a favorable balance.
Moreover, with spatial disorder making the use of Plane Corridors prone to spatial disasters, the secondary continent’s map remains darkened. Principally, few wizards are willing to explore it.
Incidentally... Greya actually has been to the secondary continent.
While searching for ingredients, she ventured into the secondary continent. Unfortunately, her bad luck had her encounter the Deer-Monkey Granny without exploring far. Although she escaped, the spatial chaos of the secondary continent, full of traps, caused both her and the Deer-Monkey Granny to accidentally fall into an uncharted passageway, which was the Nightmare Realm Portal.
The existence of the secondary continent is one of the reasons wizards cannot fully conquer Hante World.
Furthermore, if the Deer-Monkey Granny can cultivate on such a dangerous secondary continent, can the other Mind Masters not? Could there be more powerful Mind Masters than the Three-Star ones on the secondary continent?
In short, Angel believes that Hante World should hold secrets.
In the past, Angel paid no attention to Hante World, but now, due to the teapot and the boy within it, he has become curious about Hante World.
Perhaps, after leaving here, he could seek Greya to learn more about Hante World and the situation of the secondary continent.
"...This covers the national distribution in the Psychic Realm. Although they have the concept of nations, Mind Masters transcend national boundaries and hold special privileges in every country." Wolftooth Qin continued to discuss the affairs of the Psychic Realm, but since the subject was geopolitics, Angel didn’t listen closely and only grasped the general idea.
"...This teapot is not some wondrous item. However, the special energy staining the teapot is called telekinesis; as for the youth inside the teapot, if I am not mistaken, before becoming an Empty-hearted Person, he was a Mind Master from the Psychic Realm."
Finally, Wolftooth Qin touched upon the core of the Psychic Realm: Mind Masters and the Psychokinesis System.
Angel also knew a bit about Mind Masters, though only in broad strokes. He only knew Mind Masters are classified by Star Level, and currently the highest known is the Three-Star Mind Master, among whom the five strongest are most renowned.
Angel knew of two among these five paramount Three-Star Mind Masters besides "Old Lady Deer-Ape"; one of them is the "Crow Man," whose real name is supposedly Crow Indico. His Mind Master’s origin essence is known as the "Origin Point" and he hails from the Indico family.
The reason Angel knew of him was because he had seen a piece of news in a magazine: the Crow Man once infiltrated the Wizards’ Realm and ambushed Sanders and Flora, though in the end he was defeated.
Angel was not privy to the specific details of the battle, but since it concerned his mentor, he remembered the news.
As for the Psychokinesis System, Angel did not know much, but the magazine had described the Crow Man’s telekinesis in detail: Origin Point.
The so-called Origin Point is essentially the initial point of energy.
The Crow Man could create an initial point of an element through telekinesis and extend it. He could use fire as the initial point to extend an endless sea of flames; he could also use water as the initial point, extending a vast ocean...
Even, when the Crow Man was in the Psychic Realm, he could use time as an initial point, making his combat power exceedingly formidable.
Although the Crow Man would be suppressed by the World Will when entering the Wizards’ Realm, reducing his strength greatly, he still dared to ambush Sanders and Flora, indicating his substantial prowess.
However, other than the Crow Man’s "Origin Point," Angel did not know much about the Psychokinesis System or telekinesis abilities.
Now, Wolftooth Qin’s narrative happened to fill the gaps in Angel’s knowledge.
According to Wolftooth Qin’s explanations, telekinesis is broadly divided into three categories.
They are: Emission Type, Mental Type, and Manifestation Type.
Emission Type is akin to the Element Side of the wizard structure, mainly using the method of externalizing energy to confront enemies, belonging to the strong combat type.
Mental Type is similar to the spiritual power of wizards, comprising the majority of Mind Masters. It specializes in using spiritual strength to interfere with the Material Realm, belonging to the strong control type.
Manifestation Type has no corresponding wizard structure and is exclusive to Mind Masters. They can concretize telekinesis into specific items, and these items can continuously add different entries for enhancement. The manifested items determine whether a Mind Master leans towards combat type or control type, or another special type.
Previously, the wondrous item Laplace mentioned belonged to the Manifestation Type abilities. Special items are concretized through telekinesis for combat.
Such manifested items are not restricted to physical objects; conceptual forms can also be materialized and endowed with corresponding abilities.
Manifestation Type is unique to Mind Masters but also the rarest among them.
...
"...In the Psychic Realm, the ability to perceive telekinesis allows one to be considered a reserve Mind Master and to obtain a Mind Master license issued by allied nations. However, this license is starless at this stage. Only when one confirms the type of telekinesis and forms an intrinsic logical ability can they be called a one-star Mind Master and apply for a one-star Mind Master license..."
Wolftooth Qin finished explaining the Psychokinesis System and briefly categorized the Mind Masters before stopping.
"That’s all I know. As for which type of Mind Master the youth inside the teapot is, and what abilities he possesses, I cannot ascertain. Unless he has a Mind Master license."
Angel shook his head, "He doesn’t have anything on him."
The youth inside the teapot had nothing except the clothes on his back, let alone any Mind Master licenses.
Wolftooth Qin: "Then I have no way to determine. However, I’ve heard there are Mind Masters in the Psychic Realm who do not apply for licenses, though they are rare. Perhaps this youth belongs to this category."
Only Mind Masters with licenses can enjoy the privileges of allied nations in the Psychic Realm.
Those who don’t apply for licenses usually fall into two categories: Ascetics and Wanderers.
Ascetics are a group that cares not for privileges, disdainful of comfort, and cultivate through the hardships of the outside world. They don’t see the need for a Mind Master license to evidence themselves.
Wanderers comprise many groups, including criminals and their families, wild cultivators, and the exiled. They don’t refrain from wanting a Mind Master license but lack the qualifications to apply.
The youth lacked a Mind Master license, which led Wolftooth Qin to speculate he was most likely an Ascetic or Wanderer.
Of course, it was also possible the youth’s license was washed away shortly after entering the Sea of Void Mirror.
Which category he belongs to is currently unverifiable. Even when the youth restores some spirit intelligence, a definitive answer remains elusive since... he no longer remembers his past.
"Thank you, these insights are invaluable." Angel sincerely expressed gratitude to Wolftooth Qin.
Wolftooth Qin smiled and nodded, engaging with Angel for some casual chat before taking his leave, heading to other rooms with Sharktooth Scale and Wolftooth Flute Bone in tow.
After the Ancient Tooth Fairies departed, Glaipnir softly remarked, "I thought you might take this opportunity to discuss the Crystal Origin of Dreams with the Ancient Tooth Fairies."
Angel: "There’s no rush for the Crystal Origin of Dreams. My main agenda on this visit still pertains to it."
Angel gestured towards the gem-like teapot then commented, "Overall, the gains have been substantial."
"Substantial gains?" Laplace gazed at Angel, "It seems you hold high hopes for the youth in the teapot?"
Angel chuckled, "I don’t have many thoughts yet on the youth inside the teapot. What I refer to as ’gains’ has relatively little to do with him."
"Oh?" Laplace shot a puzzled glance at Angel.
In her view, whether Angel sought out Wolftooth Flute Bone or Wolftooth Qin, it was all to unearth the past of the teapot and its inhabitant. Why now claim the gains were unrelated to them?
Angel: "Initially my pursuit was indeed spurred by curiosity about the teapot and the youth’s history. But now, I’ve suddenly conceived an intriguing notion worth exploring... though still related to the teapot, it diverges somewhat from the connections you imagined."
"What’s different?" Laplace inquired.
This time, Angel did not reply directly but instead offered a meaningful smile, "You’ll see in due time."
