Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1187 - Taming the Old World - Amplifying Power - 5

Chapter 1187 - Taming the Old World - Amplifying Power - 5

"Relax… My absolute limit is triple my baseline," Ren stated, his voice completely devoid of emotion, echoing with clear certainty. "I am currently holding only double... I have plenty of margin left in my system."

It was the objective truth. He could push even harder easily.

But he was going to sever the connection right here regardless.

Because the true danger of the pillar was not the final volume of the mana. It was the temptation…

The ten plus two completely unknown, alien energies merging and awakening inside his system possessed a terrifying, intoxicating allure. It was a soft, incredibly pleasant whisper constantly brushing against his consciousness, gently inviting him to open the floodgates and become a God.

It begged him to take more, to explore their unfathomable depths, to simply let go and allow the power to consume him.

Ren felt the pull with crystal clarity, and he absolutely refused to fall for it… Funnily, corruption had taught him well.

He absorbed the exact percentage he had coldly calculated he needed, and he violently slammed the flow shut. He resisted the divine invitation with the exact same ruthless, ironclad willpower that had kept him from completely succumbing to the corruption in the ancient wind and earth ruin.

But as he focused entirely on stabilizing his volatile core, something else completely inexplicable happened in his shadow space.

His five elemental crystals began to vibrate strongly.

Ren immediately extracted them from the void. The moment they materialized in the physical world, they seemed to ignore gravity entirely pulled by an unknown energy. The five colored gems began to float around his body, rotating in a slow, hypnotic orbit. They were aggressively vibrating and responding to a stimulus that Ren had not intentionally provoked.

Everyone in the room instantly noticed the shift. The crystals felt fundamentally different than normal. The ambient energy radiating from the pillar had seemingly shocked the gems into a state of hyper-activity that they had never exhibited before.

"Ren..."

Liu's voice broke the silence. The quietest member of the Vanguard, who always observed the board from the shadows, pointed a trembling finger toward the back of the chamber.

"Look at the vault."

Ren turned his head.

The five ancient Dragon Cores resting on the pedestal were violently vibrating and glowing too, pulsing in perfect, synchronized harmony with the crystals orbiting Ren's chest.

There was absolutely no time to launch a scientific investigation into what this resonance meant or could achieve.

Julius, Arturo, and Selphira all reached the exact same tactical conclusion at the exact same millisecond… It was Arturo who voiced it.

"Take them with you. Take all of them right now and let's leave already. Whatever the hell is happening, we will dissect the reason later."

The scholar's voice had vanished, completely replaced by the harsh, pragmatic urgency of a Vanguard commander managing an active apocalypse. "If we stand around in the dark staring at glowing rocks, the adamantium tower falls, Selthia breaches the castle doors, and absolutely everything we care about..." He gestured wildly to the forbidden, crackling energy currently mutating their auras, "...And our bodies resisting this power, will have been for nothing. Move!"

Not a single soul argued.

Ren instantly willed the five elemental crystals back into the cold void of his shadow space. They continued to vibrate aggressively even within the dimensional pocket, fully awake. With a sharp flick of his wrist, his shadow rapidly stretched across the cavern floor, wrapping around the pedestal and swallowing the five ancient Dragon Cores as well.

He had absolutely no idea what the mana-biological hardware was capable of doing in this state. He only knew that they were reacting to him, and leaving them behind in the dark when they were this active was an infinitely worse tactical decision than taking them into the warzone as a hopeful last resource.

They moved.

With their cores violently overflowing with forbidden energy, with the exact same ancient power that had frozen King Dragarion currently pulsating through fifteen human systems, they sprinted back to the surface. They mounted the absolute fastest aerial beasts the Vanguard possessed and tore the sky open, flying back into the bloodbath.

♢♢♢♢

They arrived just as Selthia's ultimate weapon had reached the gates too.

The mechanical artifact, the colossal, Diamond-rank draconic chassis fueled by Diamond rank mutants flesh, ancient machinery, The Whisper of the Wind, The Warden of Space and the Amalgamation Leech, had successfully finished draining the central academy's sphere. It had returned to the frontline, and it was currently throwing its huge power and weight against Ren's adamantium creation.

It was systematically testing the monolith's structural resilience, ruthlessly searching for any small fracture or a runic flaw it could exploit to tear down the single, stubborn obstacle blocking its path to the castle doors.

By some architectural miracle, the tower was still holding.

The hyper-compressed Diamond-rank roots were still firing like artillery shells, skewering the surrounding Platinum mutants while the subterranean vein pumped endless oceans of ether into its metallic chassis.

But it was glaringly obvious to everyone watching that the absolute invulnerability of the structure was not so absolute as it wasn't a true Adamantium rank metal. It would not hold forever.

Every single time the Diamond-rank artifact slammed its metallic claws or unleashed a concentrated breath of corrupted ether against the chassis, it left a small, glowing scar on the pseudo-adamantium, a material that absolutely no other enemy but Selthia on their side of the planet would have been able to scratch.

But they had made it just in time.

Ren and his strike force descended from the ash-choked clouds directly over the frontline. Fifteen human meteors, radiating an ancient, primordial energy that absolutely no enemy on the board expected humanity to wield, crashing into the dirt exactly when the bleeding tower needed them most.

They had successfully won the race against time by a razor-thin margin.

Now, the true war would finally begin.

"Get out of our cities now, Selthia!" Ren roared.

There was a small schedule mistake, so guess we drop a 3rd today as an apology...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, as always...
