Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1260 - Taming the Old World - Shadow Dragons - 7

Chapter 1260 - Taming the Old World - Shadow Dragons - 7

With the heavy swamp currently choked with high-tier corpses, a massive wave of spiritual fire delivered at the perfect moment would permanently cost Selthia many dozens of Platinum beasts in a single devastating strike.

It would transform a significant portion of her military assets into useless spiritual ash that her hive mind could never recycle.

That specific goal was exactly why their timing needed to be flawless.

Ren held his ground, carefully gauging the swamp's level of saturation. He mentally tracked the piling bodies, calculating the precise tipping point where burning the remains would inflict the maximum possible damage, without giving the corrupted horde enough time to pile, distract the guardian with more numbers, and start a serious feeding frenzy.

♢♢♢♢

Another twenty tense minutes drifted by…

Ren sensed that the mutant saturation was finally approaching the ideal threshold. The dense marsh simply could not accommodate many more casualties or beasts on top of them before the fresh waves of incoming mutants couldn't fight in the front and instead began genuinely exploiting the feast.

While the dragon could undoubtedly endure further punishment for perhaps another half hour, the risk was escalating.

Another tactical concern weighed heavily on his mind: he needed to avoid getting greedy. Pushing their luck too far could lead to disaster.

Down in the southern hemisphere, the Vanguard detachment had established a tight relay system. This organized rotation allowed the tamers to extend their effective combat endurance, swapping positions to ensure they did not drain their mana reserves all at once.

Yet even with scheduled relief cycles, maintaining a double fusion was not a state anyone could sustain indefinitely. Every single minute Ren lingered in the shadows up north equated to a minute the other two battlefronts burned through a highly finite supply of energy.

Stalling any longer merely to maximize the body count in the swamp could ultimately result in the total exhaustion of the other two Vanguard groups, leading to a catastrophic defeat if he was forced to abandon this offensive to go save them.

Based on that grim arithmetic, Ren concluded it was finally time to move…

The exact second he finalized the decision, two fresh avian messengers landed nearby.

It was the final pulse of intelligence before fully committing his forces to the siege. These small scrolls held the power to abort his entire operation; if the capital was facing imminent collapse, or if the southern squad was too fatigued to help said collapsing city or even maintain their line, Ren would have to drastically rethink the entire full strategy.

He quickly untied the notes and scanned them.

The southern front remained remarkably stable... Good.

The chaotic flow of combat was contained, and while Platinum beasts were steadily accumulating, both the Vanguard squad and the corrupted horde were shifting into a more defensive rhythm.

The academy directors were successfully incinerating a large portion of the remains using their spiritual flames, effectively severing the enemy's cannibalistic supply line.

They were holding their ground.

And the capital was managing the siege just as well… Perfect.

Roughly one hundred and forty Platinum mutants had already joined the surrounding blockade, but the condensed defense could easily weather the storm with no losses for at least another hour at the current pace. Arturo's calculated safety threshold of two hundred apex beasts had not yet been breached, and based on the current arrival rate, it wouldn't be crossed anytime soon.

The board was completely green.

Ren did not hesitate for another second.

He immediately dispatched three responses.

The first order was directed to Min, commanding the explosive invisible specialist to abandon his observation post and regroup for the main assault. There was no longer any need to quietly monitor the enemy movements a bit before reaching the battle zone in the northern side, simply because their presence here was about to become blindingly obvious and they could use the sky now.

He sent the remaining two birds to the capital and the southern perimeter, officially confirming he was breaking cover.

It was the ultimate signal that all three battlefronts were transitioning into their final, highly important phase, with Ren finally pulling the trigger to set the grand conclusion in motion.

He turned back to his strike force.

♢♢♢♢

"Liora," Ren called out quietly, locking eyes with her. She already knew exactly what was coming. "It is your turn to ignite."

He verbally granted her the authorization to unleash the primordial dragon ether she had been meticulously regulating within her mana system. She was ordered to dump half of that borrowed power, combined with the absolute largest concentration of her own natural mana she could physically manifest.

She needed to fuse it all together into one huge wave of incineration designed to scour the entire swamp clean.

"Luna, Larissa, and I will anchor your output," Ren continued, smoothly integrating himself into the hit formation. "The heavy marsh water is naturally going to try and smother your flames, that is very likely thanks to the adjacent elemental property. But we are simply not going to allow that to happen… The four of us will actively feed the blaze, keeping your spiritual fire burning hot until there isn't a single viable corpse left to salvage."

Luna, Larissa, and Liora nodded in perfect unison. The four of them fell into a flawless sync, their combined auras steadily rising as raw energy pooled around them.

Ren cast one final, calculating look toward Yano's Black Dragon. The ancient beast was wounded and visibly exhausted after enduring days of relentless siege orchestrated by Selthia, surrounded by a murky swamp overflowing with the shattered bodies of the very monsters sent to claim its life.

It was time to move.

It was time to make their grand entrance and finally shatter the stealth protocol they had maintained throughout an entire day of grueling travel and tense waiting.

It was time to reveal the Vanguard's true overarching strategy: humanity's most lethal strike force had never been deployed to the southern hemisphere, nor were they huddled inside the capital. They were standing right here, patiently waiting in the shadows for the perfect moment to crash down upon the guardian with everything they had.

Ren issued the final command.

And the silent northern wilderness, which had perfectly masqueraded as an empty void throughout the entire half global conflict, suddenly erupted into blinding light.
