Weakest Beast Tamer Gets All SSS Dragons

Chapter 1303 - Taming the Old World - Light Dragons - 7

Chapter 1303 - Taming the Old World - Light Dragons - 7

It was fifteen minutes before, in the south front...

Ren had dispatched that brief but vital message to Julius and Arturo in the capital.

He had updated the command post on the shifting dynamics of his front, highlighting one specific detail that fundamentally altered the grim arithmetic facing the city defenders. The single Diamond mutant Selthia had left behind to stall him, along with the two other titans she had kept buried as reserves, had broken formation and retreated.

"Sorry, but… They left with their tails tucked between their legs," Ren had noted with a quiet sense of satisfaction.

Yet that retreat was the exact reason the capital would soon be facing all seven Diamonds instead of just four.

The moment Ren deployed the black water and set the guardian on fire, Selthia had instantly realized there was zero tactical value in keeping her elite units near the southern front.

Holding ground near the Southern Light Dragon had become a suicidal proposition for her high-tier beasts. The roaring spiritual fire, fueled by the volatile black swamp water that simply refused to extinguish, could easily splash onto her Platinums. Once ignited, they would become screaming torches just like the burning guardian they were meant to try and get the core from.

Testing the upper limits of Ren's current strength against one and two Diamond ranks would have yielded valuable intelligence, yet under these battle conditions, that data was not worth the cost. The sheer risk of having her most expensive units incinerated by splash damage vastly outweighed any tactical insights she might glean.

Consequently, Selthia pulled her entire southern vanguard back, leaving only a handful of low-tier scouts with good eyes scattered along the distant ridges to monitor the execution from afar.

That sudden evacuation granted Ren an unprecedented level of operational freedom.

Without hundreds of corrupted beasts prowling the perimeter, waiting to exploit any momentary lapse in his defense, Ren and his squad could abandon caution entirely. They could push their offensive tempo to the absolute limit. They no longer had to reserve a portion of their active ether to defend against a sudden flanking maneuver or a rear ambush that was never going to come.

They could pour every single ounce of their power directly into breaking the guardian.

And the Light Guardian was already feeling the full weight of that undivided attention.

The glowing beast was rapidly losing the beam struggle against the four dual-contract Tamers. It simply could not sustain the output. The agonizing pain of the black fire chewing through its scales shattered its concentration. Its blinding breath attack, a beam that had initially rivaled the sheer force of Ren's three-headed Hydra, flickered, sputtered, and finally cut out entirely.

The exact second the guardian's breath failed, the four commanders surged forward and slammed their combined attacks straight into the beast's head.

Luna, Larissa, Liu, and Sirius pushed harder and unleashed a disastrous yet synchronized barrage, driving their attacks deep into the guardian's reeling body now that its primary offensive defense had collapsed.

"Target the core zone!" Ren ordered, his mana augmented voice cutting through the roar of the impacts. "Aim for the underbelly, right behind the front legs! Concentrate everything you have on that point!"

The four Tamers instantly adjusted their trajectories. They hammered the exact ventral section Ren indicated, trusting his heightened mana perception to pinpoint the dragon's heart through the blinding glare. Concentrated light and deep shadow struck the exact same patch of scales over and over, violently tearing through the dense layers of hardened radiance protecting the core.

Ren didn't lose any time either and prepared to deliver the killing blow.

He dissolved his temporary two-headed fusion and immediately initiated his ultimate transformation.

The colossal, three-headed Jade Hydra materialized with a deafening roar, and Ren dropped smoothly onto its broad back. Without missing a beat, he routed a massive surge of the castle's dragons energy directly into the Shadow Ring resting on his finger.

The ancient artifact flared, amplifying his already terrifying mastery over darkness by an additional fifty percent.

He anchored the squad's assault by unleashing a massive, three-way elemental beam.

But the attack that tore from the Hydra's jaws did not look like his usual signature strike.

Normally, when Ren fused light and shadow, the resulting beam manifested very similar to Sirius signature attack, as a chaotic spiral: two diametrically opposed energies aggressively orbiting one another, weaving a volatile helix of blinding white and pitch black.

Yet this time, warped by the massive draconic surcharge feeding the Shadow Ring, the elemental physics shifted.

It was no longer a chaotic balance…

It was absolute dominance.

The light and darkness stopped spinning.

Instead of orbiting each other, the staggering gravitational pull of the amplified dark ether forced the two elements to merge. The darkness completely saturated the light, fusing the opposing forces until they occupied the exact same physical space.

Ironically, that elemental imbalance, only under Ren's superb control, achieved a state of harmony so perfect that the beam no longer needed the centrifugal force of a spiral to hold itself together.

What erupted from the three maws of the Hydra and merged into a single ray was not a chaotic helix of light and shadow.

It was a perfectly straight beam of 'negative light'.

It was a continuous, devastating current that did not illuminate the battlefield, but rather actively devoured the ambient radiance around it. It darkened the air as it traveled, leaving a vacuum of clarity where there should have been blinding glare. It was the flawless integration of two opposing elements, weaponized into the perfect weakness of a Light Dragon.

The beam of negative light slammed directly into the guardian's shoulder, angled to push and end dead center on the core zone.

The desperate beast was burning through its massive reserves to mend its torn flesh as fast as it could.

But it was asking too much of even its true Diamond level.

Against the coordinated assault of five elite Vanguard commanders, two of whom were wielding sovereign rings that amplified their shadow mana output by fifty percent, the guardian's legendary regeneration simply could not keep pace.

Even though all five humans were heavily reliant on the borrowed dragon energy from the castle to maintain this absurd tempo, without it, they would be operating at a mere third of their current capacity, they were currently swinging far above their natural weight class.

The black fire relentlessly consumed the dragon from the outside. The four commanders mercilessly tore its belly open. And Ren's beam of negative light actively devoured the creature's holy essence, unraveling its physical existence from the inside out.
