Chapter 349: Chapter 345 ~ Reversing Tide

Chapter 349: Chapter 345 ~ Reversing Tide

Shalba bobbed and weaved through the air, his figure flickering as he narrowly dodged a relentless barrage of light lances and crackling lightning bolts.

Each attack came mere inches from tearing him apart, yet he maintained just enough distance from Michael, who pursued him without pause, his holy sword wreathed in roaring divine flames.

"Tch… persistent birds," Shalba spat with irritation.

With a sharp gesture, he unleashed his counterattack.

From countless magic circles blooming in the air around him, hundreds—no, thousands—of insects erupted forth, their deafening buzz rolling across the battlefield like a living storm.

They were not ordinary insects.

Each "bee" was a magical beast, its tiny body brimming with demonic energy. At Shalba's will, they could rapidly deploy magic circles, fire concentrated spells, or self-detonate in violent magical explosions. Individually insignificant—but together, they formed an almost inexhaustible, omnidirectional bombardment force.

An endless swarm.

The sheer pressure forced Michael to pull back, while Sirzechs and Serafall were driven into a defensive posture.

Sirzechs fired continuous beams of destruction, erasing everything in their path, while Serafall froze vast clusters of bees mid-flight, shattering them into glittering fragments of ice. Yet for every swarm destroyed, two more surged forward.

Even for a Super Devil like Sirzechs, enduring a direct hit from such overwhelming numbers was impossible without sustaining serious injury.

Gabriel clasped her hands in prayer, her radiant light purifying the demonic insects as they approached, while Azazel and Baraqiel, now unable to press forward, redirected their attacks into crowd control—holy lightning and light spears ripping through the buzzing mass.

The battlefield ground to a deadlock.

But Shalba knew the truth. Time was not on his side.

When the chaos across Asgard were suppressed. When his devils and magicians were eliminated. Or when Loki, Fenrir, Skoll, and Hati were subdued… Then he would be cornered.

No matter how vast his pride, he knew the limits of reality. Even he could not defeat two Demon Kings, two Seraphs, and two Twelve-Winged Fallen Angels at once.

"Hmph… so that's how Katarea and Creuserey fell."

Shalba muttered bitterly, his words escaping through clenched teeth.

"But it matters not."

His eyes burned with madness.

"I shall end this—now."

A sudden eruption of power exploded from Shalba's body.

Sirzechs, Michael, Azazel—everyone froze.

But what stunned them most was not the surge itself—

It wasn't Shalba's power.

"Hahaha…! Yes—yes, I can feel it!"

Shalba laughed hysterically, his voice trembling with ecstasy.

"With this coursing through me… I shall not merely become the next Beelzebub—I shall surpass the original and rule the Underworld!"

Dark green, pulsating tendrils slithered from within his body, wrapping tightly around his limbs and torso like parasitic veins. His eyes widened, gleaming with unrestrained ambition.

With a sweeping motion of his hand, the air screamed.

A colossal swarm manifested—millions of bees this time—each one overflowing with condensed magical power.

"Now… Fall."

"Kuh—!"

Sirzechs fired a massive beam of destruction, obliterating everything in its path. Entire swathes of the swarm vanished instantly—but the remainder surged forward undeterred.

"Be careful!"

Serafall shouted, erecting a towering barrier of ice around the six of them.

Gabriel joined her, hands clasped tightly above her chest as a divine defensive field blossomed outward, overlapping Serafall's barrier in radiant harmony.

Michael stepped forward, his holy sword blazing brighter than ever, carving through the swarm in wide arcs, while Azazel's Light Spears and Baraqiel's Holy Lightning struck in rapid succession.

"Useless!" Shalba roared.

"This is the power of a true Demon King! How can you fakes—and a flock of doves and crows—ever hope to contend with it?!"

The swarm pressed in from all directions.

Even a single bee breaching their defenses would detonate, weakening the barriers just enough for more to follow.

Sirzechs gritted his teeth.

'At this point… I'll have to use it.'

His trump card.

A power so destructive that once unleashed, control would be impossible. He didn't know what it would do to Asgard—or how many would suffer as collateral damage.

But if they continued like this, they would be overwhelmed.

'I have to—'

"Seems like this has gone on long enough."

A calm voice cut through the chaos.

In the very next instant—without sound, without warning—The swarm vanished.

Gone.

Not destroyed. Not dispersed. Simply… erased from existence.

Shalba's expression froze in disbelief.

Both sides stood motionless as silence descended upon the battlefield, broken only by the fading echoes of magic.

Slowly—hesitantly—everyone turned toward a single direction.

"Yuuji… sama?"

Gabriel whispered.

Her voice trembled with shock, confusion, and reverent awe—emotions shared by everyone present as they stared at Yuuji, standing calmly amidst the destruction—

Wearing an appearance they had never seen before.

The right half of his figure was that of a heavenly angel.

Long white hair, streaked with gold, flowed down to his hips. His right eye shone a brilliant gold, a circular sigil etched within the iris, radiating pure, heavenly light.

Adorning his divine physique was immaculate ceremonial plate armor of white and gold, accompanied by a pristine white cape trimmed in gold. Upon his right hand rested a jet-black ring, set with a beautiful purplish-pink diamond.

From his back emerged six wings of white and gold feathers, each one accentuating the overwhelming sense of divinity and holiness his presence exuded.

Meanwhile, the left half of his figure was… the complete opposite.

Jet-black hair streaked with crimson framed his face. His left eye burned a deep crimson red, bearing the same circular sigil within its iris—yet instead of light, it promised pure destruction. Where the right half wore the armor of a divine knight, the left was clad in jagged, spiked jet-black armor, radiating a dark aura and faintly glowing with ominous crimson light.

Six wings of black and crimson feathers emerged from his back, mirroring the angelic side in number but not in nature. From the side of his head curved a jet-black demon horn, its cracked surface glowing with a radiant crimson hue.

Behind Yuuji's head floated half of a radiant golden halo, while the other half, a crown of jet black thorns, dark, viscous, liquid crimson dripping through it, only to vanish into particles of light mere centimeters before reaching the ground.

The two halves were a stark contradiction, sharing not even the slightest similarity.

His existence represented something that should never have been allowed to exist.

An abomination that would have driven both Heaven and Hell into a frenzy.

And yet… It was absolutely stunning.

Gabriel stared in awe at his holy half. As for his darker side—despite its ominous, dangerous aura—she felt an unfamiliar excitement stirring deep within her heart.

"Yuuji-kun…"

"Amazing… That's so cool…!"

Sirzechs could only stare, speechless. Serafall, though equally shocked, gazed at him with sparkling eyes filled with amazement.

"Just what in the world is this kid…?"

Azazel was thoroughly shaken. Yuuji had shocked him countless times before—but just when he thought there was nothing left to surprise him, Yuuji shattered his expectations once again.

A half angel and half devil… no—half Seraph and half Satan. Or perhaps even something beyond a Super-class Devil?

What kind of impossibility was this?

This went far beyond a Balance Breaker.

He was an existence that simply should not exist.

"That boy…"

Baraqiel, too, was stunned. He had long wondered what Yuuji truly was—if he really was a half angel and half devil hybrid, something that should have been impossible.

Yet more than that, he worried for his daughter. Not for her safety—but for the burden that came with standing beside someone so overwhelmingly unique. Someone destined to exist apart from the world.

After all, individuals who stood too far above others were often isolated.

"You… what kind of abomination are you…?"

Shalba snarled through clenched teeth.

But no matter how venomous his words, he could not hide the fear in his eyes.

The magical pressure radiating from Yuuji was beyond anything he had ever encountered. Even empowered by Ophis's snake, even Rizevim paled in comparison to the half-angel, half-devil abomination before him.

And the erasure of his bees—

It had to be him.

Yuuji remained silent, his mismatched eyes calmly fixed on the raging descendant of Beelzebub.

That silence only served to unnerve Shalba further.

"Heh… fine! Then keep your silence for the rest of eternity!"

Venomous green magic circles erupted behind Shalba as swarms of bees began to pour forth—

Only for every circle to shatter like glass.

The bees disintegrated, collapsing into raw particles of mana and vanishing completely.

"What—?!"

"[Silence]."

A single word echoed with arcane authority.

In the next instant, sound ceased to exist.

Shalba's scream never came as space itself twisted and folded around him, crushing and restraining his body beyond resistance.

Yuuji then turned toward Sirzechs and the others.

The moment their eyes met his—one radiating divine holiness, the other an unrestrained force of destruction—their hearts pounded violently in their chests.

For the six of them, all born at the pinnacle of their respective races, this was the first time they had ever felt such a thing—

Overwhelmed. Helpless. Awed.

Then, with a simple wave of his hand, golden light enveloped them, warm and comforting.

"[Mass Heal]."

A miraculous spell reserved only for the highest-ranked Clerics.

Yet for Yuuji, it cost nothing.

Once per day—freely cast. Along with the ultimate holy spell of True Resurrection.

A privilege granted solely to the Descendant of the First Light.

Michael smiled softly as the divine radiance healed his wounds and rejuvenated his soul. The warmth reminded him painfully of the light of his own Father.

Gabriel, bathed in golden light, stared at Yuuji with a dazed smile. Her eyes glistened with awe and affection as she clasped her hands in prayer against her buxom chest, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

"This is…"

"Wow… it's so warm."

Sirzechs and Serafall looked down at their hands in disbelief. The divine light that should have been lethal to devils instead felt gentle—comforting.

"Heh, about time," Azazel said with a smirk as he looked up at Yuuji.

"It would've been bad if you hadn't come."

Baraqiel narrowed his eyes—and silently agreed.

With that display of power, he felt a deep sense of relief. The man his daughter had chosen would be able to protect her.

Hearing Azazel's words, Yuuji smiled wryly.

"You looked like you needed help," he said with a shrug.

"Well, there's no need to worry anymore. Everything will be taken care of."

"Eh? What do you—"

Serafall's words caught in her throat as realization dawned.

The battlefield—once filled with chaos and clashing forces—had gone eerily silent.

Even beyond the city walls, where Shalba's devils and magicians had rampaged…

There was nothing.
