Chapter 364: Chapter 360 ~ Tutoring the Quintuplets
Chapter 364: Chapter 360 ~ Tutoring the Quintuplets
Since their conversation at the supermarket, Erya had begun messaging him far more frequently.
At first, it had been the occasional message. Then it slowly turned into something closer to a routine.
Almost every evening, his phone would buzz with a notification from her.
Most of the time, she would send him romance novels she enjoyed—stories about a powerful, wealthy, young, and handsome CEO who fell deeply in love with an ordinary girl.
They were dramatic. Overly emotional. And filled with clichés.
Erya, however, loved them. And for some reason, she insisted that Yuuji read them too.
Not only that, she even declared that she would quiz him about the stories the next day.
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "What are you, my teacher…? Why are you even quizzing me on romance novels…?"]
[Erya Flugel: "Because it's a lesson for you~"]
[Erya Flugel: "You're basically in the position of the main male lead now."]
[Erya Flugel: "So you should learn how to deal with girls and make them fall head over heels for you~!"]
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "…I don't really plan on doing that."]
But Erya, as usual, refused to take "no" for an answer. She kept pestering him relentlessly.
Eventually, Yuuji simply gave up resisting and went along with it. Late that night, Yuuji lay on his bed while casually chatting with her.
His phone rested loosely in his hand.
Beside him, two girls were clinging to him like sleepy koalas.
Ophis and Est had their arms and legs draped over him as they slept peacefully.
One rested her head on his chest, while the other had buried her face against his shoulder. Tonight, it was their turn to sleep beside him.
Meanwhile, Alice and Aria were currently in their necklace forms, quietly resting around Yuuji's neck like elegant ornaments.
Yuuji's bed was just large enough for three adults to sleep together comfortably.
Anything beyond that would be pushing it.
When he slept with Yuna and Nina the night before, the twins had already clung to him tightly throughout the night.
And the only reason Yuuji, Aika, Yuna, and Nina had managed to sleep together the previous weekend was because the girls had been so exhausted that they collapsed onto the bed and never even made it back to their own rooms.
Otherwise, trying to fit four girls and Yuuji into the bed at the same time would be far too cramped.
So after discussing it, they came up with a simple solution. They would take turns.
After finishing his chat with Erya, Yuuji continued messaging several other people. Aika. Kallen. Erika.
It happened to be around midnight in their respective worlds as well, meaning they were also preparing to go to sleep.
He had also been chatting with Saegusa Mayumi. But she had already fallen asleep mid-conversation. Her final message had ended halfway through a sentence.
Yuuji stared at it for a moment before quietly chuckling to himself.
Then his phone vibrated again. A new message appeared.
[Kallen Kozuki: "By the way…"]
[Kallen Kozuki: "When are you coming here?"]
Yuuji smiled faintly.
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "What is this?"]
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "Did you miss me that much?"]
The reply came almost immediately.
[Kallen Kozuki: "D-Don't misunderstand!"]
[Kallen Kozuki: "I just haven't seen your face in a while! You always stick your nose into trouble, so I was wondering if you were still alive."]
Yuuji chuckled softly.
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "I'm fine."]
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "But I missed you too."]
There was a brief pause before the next message appeared.
Yuuji thought about it for a moment.
He had thought of visiting the other worlds he was connected to, if anything, to at least visit his lovers. The mission to Rias's world had been so soon after the the mission in Satoru's world that he hadn't had a chance to return to Kallen's world and Mayumi's world.
So, he decided to give them a visit. Perhaps at night, when both of them would be free.
[Tsubakihara Yuuj]: "I'll come visit you tomorrow."]
[Kallen Kozuki: "Eh?!"]
[Kallen Kozuki: "A-Alright…"]
A few seconds passed. Then another message appeared.
[Kallen Kozuk]: "…When?"]
Yuuji smiled faintly at the obvious impatience in her question. He answered honestly.
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "After dinner."]
He had a schedule to tutor the quintuplets tomorrow. And with the exams incoming, Yotsuba had begged him to tutor her and her sisters so they won't fail and spend their summer vacation with extra lessons!
After that, he'd eat dinner with his family. So, he would visit Kallen afterwards.
The typing indicator appeared immediately.
[Kallen Kozuki: "Really?"]
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "Of course."]
[Kallen Kozuki: "Good!"]
Another message popped up quickly.
[Kallen Kozuki: "You better come!"]
Yuuji's fingers moved across the screen.
[Tsubakihara Yuuji: "I promise."]
[Kallen Kozuki: "Mm..."]
[Kallen Kozuki: "Then good night."]
[Kallen Kozuki: "See you tomorrow."]
[Tsubakihara Yuuj: "Good night. See you tomorrow."]
Yuuji smiled softly, and placed his phone down, before closing his eyes, falling asleep with a smile.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the connection… Kallen stared at the final message.
Then a bright smile slowly spread across her face. She rolled over on her bed, clutching her phone tightly against her chest.
Her heart was beating a little faster than usual.
"…Tomorrow…"
Muttering quietly to herself, she buried her face into her pillow.
Then she began tossing and turning happily, unable to sit still.
For some reason—
Just knowing that she would see him tomorrow made her unusually excited.
--------------------------------X--------------------------------
"Yuuji-kun!"
The moment the final bell rang and their teacher stepped out of the classroom, Yotsuba practically sprang out of her seat.
With bright, energetic steps, she hurried straight to Yuuji's desk. Her eyes shone with excitement, and a faint blush had already spread across her cheeks as she beamed at him.
"I-I'll see you later, right? F-for the tutoring!"
She asked eagerly.
Yuuji looked up at her and gave a gentle nod, a small smile appearing on his face.
"Yes."
The response alone made Yotsuba's smile bloom even brighter.
"Great! I'll go get my sisters and we'll head home first! See you!"
Without wasting another second, she quickly stuffed her textbooks and stationery into her school bag. Then, with the same boundless energy she always had, she dashed out of the classroom—most likely heading off to gather her sisters from their respective classes.
Watching her go, the classroom slowly settled into the relaxed chatter that usually followed the end of the day.
"You're tutoring Yotsuba-san and her sisters?"
The voice came from beside him.
Turning slightly, Yuuji saw Nanasaki Ai looking at him with mild surprise.
"Oh, right, I don't think I've mentioned it before."
After a moment, he nodded.
"Yeah. They asked me to tutor them for the upcoming exams. I help them about once a week."
"I see…"
Ai murmured quietly.
Her gaze drifted downward slightly as she seemed to fall into thought.
But before the moment could settle—
"Seriously?!"
Shuu's loud voice suddenly cut through the conversation.
"Yuuji, you're aiming for all five sisters now?! Just how greedy can you be?! Leave some for u—!"
*SMACK*.=
Before he could finish the sentence, Yuuji's hand came down on the back of Shuu's head with a perfectly timed slap.
"Shut up, don't spout nonsense."
Yuuji said flatly, glaring at him. "
"O-Ow…"
Shuu clutched the back of his head, wincing in pain.
Meanwhile, Yuuji calmly tidied up his desk as if nothing had happened.
Raku scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"I'm actually kind of surprised too, I didn't expect you to end up tutoring them."
He leaned slightly closer and lowered his voice.
"I mean… Yotsuba's sisters are kinda… famous. And also infamous..."
Raku continued.
"They're really pretty, but… also kind of a handful."
Yuuji chuckled quietly.
"I know."
He slung his bag over his shoulder.
"I've experienced it firsthand."
With that, he began heading toward the door.
"See you guys tomorrow."
He waved casually to Raku, Ai, and Shuu.
As he passed by the desks near the door, he also gave a small wave to Chitoge, Onodera, and Rui, who were chatting nearby.
Then he left the classroom and headed to pick up Yuna and Nina before returning home.
Once home, Yuuji quickly changed out of his school uniform.
Instead, he wore a blue collared shirt, the top buttons left undone for a relaxed, casual look, paired with simple long pants.
After saying goodbye to his family for the evening, he headed out toward the quintuplets' apartment.
He could have simply flown there. That would have taken only seconds. But instead, he chose to walk.
The afternoon air was cool and pleasant, and he spent the time casually chatting with several of his girlfriends through his phone as he made his way through the quiet streets.
However—
Going out in public often attracted attention. A lot of it.
So to avoid unnecessary commotion, Yuuji simply cast a light invisibility spell on himself.
To everyone around him, it would appear as though no one was there. With that small precaution in place, his walk remained peaceful.
Before long, he arrived at a tall, luxurious apartment building—or more accurately, a high-end condominium complex.
He pressed the intercom and called the quintuplets.
After a brief moment, the screen flickered to life.
"Hello?"
Yotsuba's cheerful voice resounded.
"It's Yuuji. I'm here."
"Oh! Yuuji-kun! Come in!"
With a quick press of a button, she unlocked the entrance and granted him access to their floor.
Yuuji stepped inside and took the elevator up.
All the way to the highest floor.
Soon, he arrived at their apartment door and rang the bell.
But when the door opened—
It wasn't Yotsuba.
Instead, Ichika stood there with a playful smile.
"Hi~ You're finally here!"
She greeted warmly.
"Come on in!"
Yuuji stepped inside.
Ichika guided him to the living area and had him sit down, placing a small plate of cookies and a cup of tea in front of him.
"Here, help yourself."
Before he could respond—
"Ah! Ichika!"
A sharp voice rang out from the kitchen.
"Why are you giving him the cookies I made?!"
Nino stormed out from the kitchen, still wearing an apron. Her expression was full of outrage as she pointed accusingly at Ichika.
Ichika simply laughed lightly.
"It's fine, isn't it~?"
She leaned back casually.
"Didn't you make them quickly because you knew he was coming?"
"W-What nonsense are you saying?!"
Nino's face immediately turned red.
Then she shot Yuuji a sharp glare.
"Hmph!"
Without another word, she turned around and stomped back into the kitchen—presumably to bake another batch of cookies.
Meanwhile—
At the low table in the center of the room, Itsuki was already studying.
She sat neatly on a cushion, wearing her glasses, with several textbooks and notebooks spread neatly before her.
A pencil rested in her hand as she worked through a page of notes. She didn't look up when Yuuji entered. But that didn't mean she hadn't noticed him.
In fact—
Very subtly, she glanced up at him for just a brief moment before returning to her work.
It was such a small movement that none of her sisters noticed.
Only Yuuji did.
Nearby, Miku was sitting quietly on the couch with a book in her hands. She looked up when Yuuji entered.
Their eyes met briefly.
She stared at him for a moment—
Then gave a small, quiet nod.
And just then—
"Ah! You're here!"
Yotsuba came running down the stairs from her room.
She had already changed into comfortable clothes and short pants, and she carried an armful of textbooks, notebooks, and stationery.
Clearly, she had come fully prepared.
She placed everything down eagerly and sat in front of him.
"Please take care of me today, Yuuji-sensei!"
Yuuji smiled gently and nodded.
"Alright."
"Let's start today's session."
He began with Yotsuba and Itsuki.
Yotsuba needed help with her math homework, so Yuuji guided her through several problems step by step while she worked through her workbook.
Meanwhile, Itsuki was struggling with a Japanese literature analysis assignment.
Yuuji leaned slightly closer and pointed to a passage in her textbook.
"…See this line here? The way he phrases it shows hesitation."
Itsuki frowned slightly.
"This tells us that despite everything, he still wanted to help her."
Yuuji explained.
"So don't just focus on the adjectives and ignore the rest of the text."
He tapped the page lightly.
"The surrounding lines provide context. Without understanding the emotional context, you won't be able to answer the questions properly."
"I-I know that already!"
Itsuki protested.
"Good. Then try another passage and explain the answer to me in five minutes."
Yuuji replied calmly.
"F-Five minutes?!"
"Yes. You also need to learn how to manage your time properly. During the exam, you can't read the entire passage over and over to answer each question, or you won't have time to finish it. So on your first read, highlight anything you feel like would be important."
She puffed up her cheeks slightly.
"…Fine!"
Despite her stubborn reaction, she immediately returned to her book.
Even though she acted difficult at times, she was still trying. And that effort was what mattered most.
After making sure the two of them were working properly, Yuuji turned toward the couch.
"Miku, are you stuck?"
Miku was staring blankly at her science homework.
Her brows were slightly furrowed as if she were glaring at the page like it was her greatest enemy.
When she noticed Yuuji looking at her, she gave a small pout.
Yuuji chuckled softly and moved closer.
"Let me see."
Slowly and patiently, he began guiding her through the problem step by step.
He knew well that frustration could build easily when studying.
When someone failed to understand something even after repeated explanations, that frustration could quickly spiral into desperation… then anger… and finally resignation.
And resignation was the worst outcome.
Once someone reached that stage, they would simply give up.
That was the last thing Yuuji wanted.
So instead of focusing purely on teaching the material, he paid careful attention to maintaining their morale.
Fortunately, thanks to his [Teaching Proficiency], he was able to guide them effectively while keeping their motivation intact.
Which left him with only two remaining problems. The ones who seemed to have already reached that final stage—
'…This will be a bit troublesome.'
Yuuji slowly turned his head.
His gaze fell on two figures.
One was the short-haired beauty lounging lazily on the couch, casually scrolling through her phone.
The other was the long-haired beauty in the kitchen, still wearing her apron as she busied herself with cooking.
Two sisters.
Two different personalities. Two different problems.
And both equally difficult in their own way.
