Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 233: A Fight to the Death!

Chapter 233: A Fight to the Death!

By the time Cassian realized what was happening, it was too late. I had finished my transformation, turning into a giant black wolf. I now stood roughly 8 feet tall. My upper canines were as long and thick as a grown man’s finger, which was roughly 4 inches in length.

My black-furred coat danced gracefully in the wind and blended in with the darkness seamlessly. When Cassian least expected it, I leaped from the shadows and sank my teeth into his shoulder. Immediately, the metallic taste of his blood filled my mouth.

His flesh was easy enough to get through, but his bones were like iron. I felt one of my canines chip while trying to bite through it.

"ARRRGG!"

Cassian grunted in agony while trying to break my jaws, but my grip on him was firm. His claws scratched the side of my snout. I snapped him around like a dog playing with a chew toy, smashing him against the ground, buildings, and whatever I could find.

I swung him with every ounce of strength I had, sending him flying and crashing into the building I used as an assembly hall. The entire building tumbled down as if hit by a wrecking ball. All the buildings in this city were reinforced by magic, meaning they were several times stronger than regular buildings.

The entire building was decimated from the force. The walls tore down and broke into rubble. For a moment, everything went quiet as I watched the rubble intently. I watched and waited, knowing full well that he was still alive. I could still hear his heartbeat, beating faster and faster by the minute.

I readied myself for whatever would come. Lines of blood burst out from the rubble, looking almost like lasers. Dodging all the attacks, I galloped toward the rubble. Soon, Cassian rose from the debris and watched as I charged toward him.

He raised both his arms, and a giant orb of blood began to form. Then thousands of small blood orbs began to form around me, circling me from all sides. The thousands of orbs lit up the night sky like beautiful red stars. Seeing this, I immediately retook my human form, and as I did, all the orbs fired all at once.

My senses were heightened to their peak. I could feel the vibration of all the red orbs coming at me. The first one was on a trajectory to intercept my head. The second one was heading toward my abdomen.

I leaned back and twisted my body to avoid both, but I didn’t even have time to rest as more flew toward me. Using my reflexes and high agility, I dodged through them all while never stopping or slowing down my charge toward Cassian.

He still had the giant orb of blood in front of him, growing larger by the minute, while the other small orbs fired at me. With the speed and abundance of them being fired at me, it was as if I was dodging rain.

Cassian gritted his teeth, the bite mark on his shoulder still not healed. My devouring bite wasn’t corrupting his flesh as it should, but it was at least stopping him from healing.

I continued to dodge all the orbs until I was close enough to him, then I leaped into the air. Just then, a loud explosion rippled through the air. For a second, the night lit up like a beacon. A red light so bright it could be seen by the rest of the city, and the explosion that followed felt as if it shook the city’s core.

I could see why he was one of the rulers of this city, with such power, it was inevitable. But still, my body felt as if it was constantly adapting throughout this fight. I performed feats I never dreamed of.

The blast made it feel as if my skin was being ripped from my body, but still, I gritted my teeth and pushed through it. Then I retook my wolf transformation. Cassian’s eyes widened when he saw me emerging from the blast.

He immediately covered himself in armor made of blood, just like Alucard did. He was confident I couldn’t bite through his armor, since I wasn’t able to bite through his bones the first time. He also wielded a spear in his hand, and the moment I got close, he thrust it toward me.

The spear pierced through my underbelly, but still, I pressed through it and bit into his shoulder once again. This time, I heard a loud crack as I broke his bones. Without wasting a second, I tore his arms off, feeling a bit of resistance as his skin stretched like an elastic band.

And for the first time during our fight, I heard him scream as he frantically began stabbing me over and over with the spear, splitting my stomach open. I wanted to howl in pain, but I kept my jaws locked on my prey. My vision blurred, and the scent of blood traveled up my nostrils and began rewriting the chemicals in my brain.

At that moment, I didn’t care about the pain or how badly injured I was.

My bloodlust surged!

I tugged with all my might and ripped off his arms, creating a wound that wouldn’t heal anytime soon.

"You mongrel! I’ll kill you!" He screamed, lashing out, and just then my claws met his chest, breaking his armor and caving in his chest.

Cassian howled in pain and spat out a mouthful of blood. I didn’t let up. I ripped out his throat so he couldn’t speak, then continued to pick him apart piece by piece. When I was finally done, he was a sack of flesh and blood on the ground.

He tried to speak, but all that came from his mouth was blood; his words were barely audible.

"I’ll kill you. I am Cassian Veylmont, the head of the Veylmont clan. I have ruled this city for centuries, lived for over a millennia. I will not be killed by the likes of you!" He shouted, his voice resonating.

I retook my human form and stared at him coldly.

’Are all creatures this pathetic before their deaths?’

I paid his words no mind and raised my claws to end it all. Just then, I felt a presence, one that I had only felt once before. I immediately snapped my head in the direction, and what I saw left me shocked beyond words.

"Damian Dracule?"
