What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 832: They Took It

Chapter 832: They Took It

Honestly... I should have seen it coming...

In fact... I kind of thought that it would happen but I thought it wouldn’t happen so soon...

I was woken up in the middle of the night from the sirens ringing out around the station.

I sat up on the bed, needing a moment before I was fully awake and realising where the alarm was coming from.

Renata yawned sleepily while grinding her hips against mine, not even paying attention to the alarm.

I poked her on the cheek, "Renata? There’s an alarm going on..."

"Mmm... Do we have to care, Daddy?"

I poked her on the cheek again, "Come on... Even if it’s temporary, we’re still staff members working here so let’s go."

She yawned again, still clinging onto me as I slid out of bed.

Only when I started walking towards the door did she start to melt and reform herself into my clothes, wrapping herself around me and dressing me up properly.

I snatched up my weapons and pulled open the door, the alarms blaring even louder in my ears the moment I opened the door.

There were people running along the corridors and I wondered if this was another Insurgent attack so I headed towards the hangar bay intending to fly out on my ship to prepare to defend the station.

Unfortunately, Yumiko wasn’t with me right now but I figured that I could just wait for her in the hangar and we’ll fly out together.

As I was heading towards the hangar, I realised that there’s also a lot of people running in that direction too, which was odd considering there’s a number of them who weren’t even pilots or crew members assigned to the hangar bay so... Why are they all running there?

It wasn’t until I got there did I realise the reason why.

The landing pad where I had parked my ship... Was completely empty... And everyone seemed to be gathered around it.

I pushed my way through the crowd, shoving people that were blocking my way aside as I squeezed towards the front of the crowd.

When I reached there, I found three people on the ground who were being checked on by some other staff members.

From what I can see, they weren’t dead but knocked unconscious, so I assume these three were people who were watching over my ship or the hangar bay and whoever came to take my ship knocked them out.

And since my cockpit wasn’t locked, I guess they immediately went to take control of it and flew off with it.

Ok, first things first... Let’s get the full story from them...

"What happened here?!" I demanded.

The people that were closest to the landing pad jumped in surprise at my voice. The surprise quickly switched to fear and despair when they saw me standing at the edge of the platform.

"Ah... Ah... Miss Tera... Umm... We can explain..." One of them stuttered.

I frowned at them, "You can explain why my entire ship is missing? Go on then, I would like to hear just what kind of explanation there is for that."

He faltered, obviously having no answer for that except the blatantly obvious.

No doubt, those hardcore enthusiasts had stormed into the hangar earlier, subdued the guards around here, then took off with my ship.

They looked at each other, clearly unsure of what to do.

I sighed and pulled up my Codex, calling my girls.

My screen popped up showing Amber already fully dressed and smiling at me, "Already on my way to the ship, Tera! What’s the emergency this time?"

I sucked in a breath and exhaled before answering her, "They stole my ship."

She frowned, "Eh? They stole the Iridescence? That can’t be? I’m looking at it right now."

"Not that one... The other one."

"What?!! Who?! Who stole it?!"

"Take a guess... I’m coming over right now. Prepare the ship to set off and do a wide area scan. They should not have gotten far."

I shut off the call and pushed my way through the crowd before running towards the docking arm where my ship was docked.

I also sent a quick message to Yumiko telling her to head directly there instead of going to the hangar, only giving her a simple explanation that my ship was stolen without going into any other details.

I sprinted through the corridors, reaching my ship in record time to see Yumiko already waiting there.

She only gave me a nod before we stepped past the doorway and into the ship.

The moment the doors shut, the ship started to move as Renata controlled the ship to detach it from the docking arm.

The two of us then headed towards the bridge where everyone else was gathered and I took a seat on the Captain’s chair.

Only then did I let out a chuckle, "Ahahaha~ I guess I expected too much from them."

Amber smirked, "I told you they wouldn’t be able to help themselves~"

"Yes, yes... You were right. I thought they would at least need another day or two before they attempted to try and steal it. You win, happy?"

"Then do I get my reward?"

"Yes, yes... I’ll give it to you later. Anyway, where are they?"

Amber tapped on her map console to bring up a screen in front of us, showing a map of the system.

On the screen was a blue dot a short distance away from us and the station that was between us and the Warp Gate.

"Seems like they tried to move a distance away from the station before they tried to engage the Travel Drives. That’s when the engines shut down and stranded them."

"And how are they reacting right now?"

Renata was the one who answered me, her voice appearing from my chest, "Ehehehe~ They’re scrambling around wondering what is wrong, Daddy! It’s so funny!"

"They aren’t breaking anything, are they?"

"Oh, they already broke one of the doors and one of the control panels~ The person flying the ship is also currently hammering away at the pilot console so I think it’s just a matter of time before that broke too~"

Tsk... For people who were berating me about damaging the ship by flying out into space, they sure have no problems breaking it on their own...

Oh, in case it wasn’t obvious yet, we planned for this to happen from the very start.

The girls obviously know about how crazy fanatics could be when it comes to the Verlandi so they warned me that I should prepare for some crazy people attempting to steal my ship.

Naturally, I listened to my girls so we actually came up with a plan that would not only prevent me from losing my ship but also get something out of it.

Because we know for a fact that if we were to try and stop one group from attempting to do so, it might work for a while but others might try to do the same thing later and we basically don’t get any benefits from doing so if they fail to take the ship to begin with.

That’s why we got the idea of leaving the ship unlocked so in the event that they really did manage to get past security, they would be able to fly off on the ship.

But that’s where the second part of the plan comes in...

They would definitely try to run which means they would engage the Travel Drives at one point.

Ries had sabotaged the Travel Drives and connected an EMP device that would be set off the moment the Travel Drives was meant to be activated, thus shutting the entire ship down.

In case they did not do that, Renata also left a clone on board the ship just in case we needed to intervene directly.

I’m not too worried about them damaging the ship since Ries and Renata would be able to fix it and we could even pin the damages on the company too.

Yeah... We’re really planning on milking this for all its worth.

I did leave my ship with them as a gesture of genuine goodwill for them to admire but if they were to return that goodwill with such malice, then there’s no need for us to hold back either.

Our ship moved towards the blinking blue dot on the map and sure enough, we found my Verlandi floating along in the void of space, the ship still moving along its original flight path before the power shut off thanks to its momentum.

We had to travel beside it and make use of the tractor beam to bring the ship to a stop before we moved above it to bring it into our ship’s hangar bay.

With the ship secured, all of us gathered our weapons and moved towards the hangar bay to confront the thieves.

I sure hope they aren’t thinking that we would let them off easily...

Because even if this was planned, this ordeal was definitely annoying.
