What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 916: What Do With Big Ship?

Chapter 916: What Do With Big Ship?

Well... We just took over a bigger ship with big guns... So obviously the first thing we had to do was to turn their guns on their own ships~

All of the remaining Insurgents were caught completely off guard as the Destroyer suddenly turned its weapons and started firing on everyone else around us.

Panic spread through the fleet and more than half of the remaining ships exploded into fireballs of debris before they could even react, their crews probably having already stood down thinking they’d won the battle before being blown up.

Only the two C Class Medium Freighters that had stayed a distance away and two C Class Corvettes managed to survive the first volley.

As they tried to power up their engines, we fired a second volley which quickly blew up one of the Medium Freighters and one of the Corvettes, turning them into exploding husks that started to drift off into the void of space.

The last Medium Freighter tried to turn and run while the other Corvette was using the debris of its Corvette brethren as a makeshift shield to try and charge up its Travel Drives to escape.

That didn’t stop us from firing the third volley at both ships, the Medium Freighter completely standing no chance as its shields instantly shattered from the main cannons of the Destroyer before its hull was ripped apart.

As for the Corvette, we fired kinetic shells upon the debris, the force of the explosion turning the remains of the Corvette into an improvised missile as it spun towards the last surviving ship.

It could not get away in time as the debris crashed right into its side, throwing the ship spinning out of control while its thrusters desperately tried to stop the ship’s spin.

Unfortunately, that meant that it was completely exposed for us to launch our last volley at the ship, its shields shattering like paper and its armour melting from the heat of the lasers.

I watched as the back end of the Corvette where the engines were exploded into a rather impressive ball of fire, the force of the explosion separating the ship into three parts and shooting the back end flying off into the void.

And just like that, space was silent once more... Or at least in this part of the galaxy at least.

"Daddyyyy~ Praise meeeee~" Renata squealed, jumping up from the weapons console that was located on the bridge of the Destroyer.

I gave her the hug and headpats she wanted and made my eldritch maid purr in my embrace.

While letting her enjoy my touch, I turned back to Yumiko and Amber who were standing behind me this entire time and watching silently.

"Guess that’s that... What do we do with this ship now?"

Amber tapped the side of her cheek, "Well... We can use it?"

I looked around the ship and grimaced at the dead bodies, "We’ll have to clean the place up though... And is it even worth it?"

"Hmmm? What do you mean?"

"I mean... Is it worth keeping this ship? We’ll have to maintain it as well and that’s going to cost us Credits. Do we need a Destroyer on our fleet and is this ship worth the investment it’s going to cost us to use it?"

Amber blinked at me, "Hmm? Since when do you think about that, Tera?"

I grimaced, "Well... I might have been spending quite some time with Vier and she’s rubbed off some of her logistics stuff on me..."

"I can see that..."

"Now that you’ve mentioned her... I guess it’s a better idea to just ask Vier about it instead. Worse comes to worse we can still just sell the ship and then use the money to buy one of our own instead~"

With that in mind, we left the bridge and made our way back to The Iridescence where I found Freyja sitting in front of the docking hatch with a few new corpses spread around her.

Looks like there were a few insurgents that actually tried to sneak past us to escape onto my ship but... I guess they weren’t counting on finding a giant dog guarding the door here.

Freyja let out a happy bark when she saw me and bounded across the corridor to jump at me, her tail wagging a storm up behind her. I guess she wanted me to praise her for dealing with the Insurgents that tried to board my ship as well.

On the other hand, Amber and Yumiko immediately took a few steps back from me when they saw the dog running towards us which felt a little lonely but I guess it couldn’t be helped.

I gave Freyja a few pats and a belly rub before leading everyone back onto my ship where the rest of my lovers were waiting.

"Boss! You’re ba-- Eeek!"

Ries was about to run up to hug me but stopped at the last moment when she saw Freyja plodding along beside me.

Ugh... Seems like this is also something that I would have to get used to where I have to choose between fluffing Freyja or fluffing my girls...

Uggghhh... How could I even choose...

Somehow, Freyja seemed to have read my mind as she gave my hand another nudge after I patted her before she went over to her usual spot by the corner of the cargo bay and laid down obediently.

With Freyja gone, that was basically the go ahead for my lovers to crowd around me with Ries leaping into my arms to start rubbing her face on my boobs.

"Bosssss!! You’re baaaaack!!" She purred, pretending she didn’t just retreat from me a moment ago.

"Tera. Are you hurt? Should I give you a checkup?"

"Mistress... You are safe."

"Tera! Are you alright?!"

Ironically, the person who seemed the most worried about me was Vier, though I guess it was mostly because she wasn’t used to the idea that I would also be fighting against enemies like these directly.

"I’m fine," I assured her, giving the Dragonling a pat on the head which I had to stand on my tiptoes to reach. "I’m a Psionic, remember? Those guys were just small fries. More importantly, I have a question for you though..."

The concern slowly melted away from Vier’ face as she looked at me with curiosity.

"What question, Tera?"

"Could our expenses handle having a Destroyer on our fleet? Or do we have to sell it? What is your recommendation?"

She stared at me for a moment before her gaze slowly turned towards the docking hatch where my ship still connected to the Destroyer’s.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t Vier who answered but Ries instead, my catgirl looking up from between my boobs to show the same look someone might give when they found something that wasn’t quite disgusting but still somewhat unpleasant.

"Blehhhh... Boss... Please don’t... That thing over there is the Mullren Destroyer made by Nebula Dynamics... That thing is an ancient piece of crap that wants to be a Destroyer but tries to be a Cruiser and fails spectacularly on both fronts... It has big weapons, sure, but then that sacrifices its speed and makes it one of the slowest Destroyers in the market when it was still being manufactured. What’s more, the generator is also terrible since they skimped on it to save cost to get it big guns, so firing its weapons uses too much energy so it can only fire a limited number of salvoes before it has to stop and recharge... Or the gunners had to only fire the guns at set intervals to allow the power supplies to recharge. At least it might make sense if the ship has kinetic weapons but noooooo... They just went ahead to decide to slap on several laser weapons too which are a huge drain on the ship’s already pathetic reserve of energy. It was so bad that Nebula Dynamics eventually stopped its production just a year after it hit the market and even die hard fans of the company will admit that it was one of the worst ships it has ever produced. If Boss wants to get a Destroyer, there’s definitely better choices than that one. The only thing it’s good for is to sell it for scraps, sell it to the black market for people desperate enough to use them, or sell it to other Mercs who can only afford such a junk."

...

Err... I guess as expected of Ries?

Heck, even Vier looked quite impressed by the entire presentation that Ries had given while my catgirl was still nestled in between my boobs.

I guess since that ship had Ries’s glowing recommendation... We definitely won’t be keeping it so we might as well be selling it.

But just as I was about to ask Vier if she had any contacts that we could use to sell an entire Destroyer... A voice came from my chest that did not belong to Ries.

"Daddy? Can I eat it?"

You know what? Why not?
