What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 935: Entertaining The Dogs

Chapter 935: Entertaining The Dogs

Funnily enough, Nerissa became the only person on the ship who was deathly afraid of the dogs that were wandering around the ship.

I didn’t feel a need to assure her anymore than I already have so I just let her deal with it herself. It’s not my problem that she is scared, after all.

My girls also aren’t exactly that welcoming of her and while they obeyed my instruction about not making things difficult for her, they didn’t go out of their way to make things easy for her either.

I have spotted them blocking her path forward on several occasions where the only way for her to move past them was to slide past really close to a dog that was just laying at the side, the dog watching both my girls and Nerissa as she passed them.

I would have felt sad for her if it didn’t look funny to see her squeeze between my lover and the dog that was just watching the entire thing curiously.

I’m pretty sure the dogs understood that we were tormenting Nerissa a little but had no actual malice towards her so they all kind of just play along anyway.

Either that... Or it’s because I go and pat their heads afterwards...

Honestly, I’m just glad that Nerissa chose not to point out the fact that my girls constantly had my tentacles in between their legs and no longer asked me about them either.

In fact, my girls went even further and basically made me go back to my usual routine of just making love to them wherever they were, sometimes even going out of their way to make sure that Nerissa would inevitably come across one of my lovers and myself making love outside our rooms whenever she had to pass by.

I’m not even sure why my girls are even doing this either since I don’t see any reason to show this off to her at all. But I wasn’t going to turn down my girls either so I just went along with it.

Aside from that, I also now had something else I had to work into my schedule...

I picked up the metal rod that I had Ries help me make to resemble something like a stick and held it up in the air.

I looked down at the fifty or so dogs that were looking up at me and wagging their tails excitedly, their mouths open and waiting patiently. The other dogs that weren’t here were currently spread out throughout the rest of the ship, simply chilling and taking their usual naps at this time of the day.

Freyja was also amongst them, my dog being the biggest in size and dwarfing everyone else.

"Who wants the stick? You want the stick?"

Several of the dogs barked at me excitedly.

"Go fetch!" I chuckled, tossing the stick towards the far end of the cargo bay.

The dogs barked excitedly and started running towards the place where I threw the stick.

They moved like a tidal wave of fluff and I got to watch them overtake the stick as they ran faster than the stick itself, all of them sliding to a stop at where the stick would have fallen.

I say ’would’ because it was never given a chance to touch the ground as Freyja leapt into the air and snatched the stick before it could even complete its descent with her mouth and immediately started running back to me.

The other dogs barked at her in disappointment and chased after her but Freyja was completely unbothered as she ran back to me, looking extra pleased with herself.

She deposited the stick in my hand and the rest of the dogs caught up, nipping at her heels in frustration but not actually hurting her.

I gave Freyja a pat on her head and chuckled when she let out a whine of happiness while her tail wagged up a storm behind her.

Well, I was prepared for this so I took out three more sticks and waved them in the air.

The dogs practically went rabid at the sight of the increased number of sticks and were barking at me to throw it for them.

Of course, the only thing I could do was to throw the sticks for them, all four of them being flung in different directions of the cargo bay.

The dogs let out happy barks and split up into four groups, each of them running towards a different stick.

Freyja went for the stick that had flown straight ahead and I guess most of the dogs figured that they could not beat Freyja since she was much bigger than everyone else, only a small number of dogs actually chased after her to try and fight her for it.

I watched with a little pride as she jumped on top of one of the cargo containers, leapt up another one that was stacked even higher and then jumped off the edge to snatch the stick out of the air.

She even did a little flip in the air before landing on the ground on her feet, hopping slightly to absorb the impact without any visible effort.

The dogs that had been chasing after her gave a frustrated growl but quickly diverted their path to chase after the other three sticks that were still in mid flight instead.

Freyja ran back to me with the stick and deposited it in my hand again, preening with pride as I gave her another pat on the head.

I looked at the other dogs to see them still chasing after the stick as one of them bounced off the far wall and had its direction changed and another bounced off the top of a cargo container to also head in a different direction.

The last one managed to complete its flight without encountering any obstacles and landed on the ground, prompting that group of dogs to rush over to where it fell and start pouncing on it.

I was actually a little concerned that the dogs would bite and scratch at each other but my fears were unfounded as they seemed to be actively avoiding hurting each other.

Eventually, a German Shepherd leapt out from the crowd and started running towards me with the stick in her mouth, looking especially proud of herself.

The other dogs chased after her and also nipped at her heels, probably hoping that she would somehow drop the stick so that they could take it from her and fetch it for me instead.

Unfortunately for them, she managed to run all the way back to me and sat down right beside Freyja who was still enjoying the headpats I was giving her so I took the stick and started patting the German Shepherd headpats too.

I looked at the other two groups and they were all still clamouring over the sticks where one of them had fallen on top of a cargo container and another had bounced away on the ground.

The one that was already on the ground got snatched up by a Corgi that had dashed out with surprising speed despite her smaller legs and zipped through the legs of her competitors to run back to me.

The other stick was claimed by Sheltie who had leapt off the top of the cargo container to avoid the other dogs and also ran back alongside the Corgi to return the stick to me.

With those sticks in my possessions again, I used my tentacles to create two more hands to pat their heads as well, putting this mod of mine to good use.

The other dogs watched on with clear jealousy until I pulled back and pulled out four more sticks which I was preparing to throw.

"You’re crazy..." A voice came from the side.

I turned to see Nerissa looking at me with a mix of respect and fear, the woman pressing herself against the wall close to the door that led to the armory, as though she was prepared to dash right in if the dogs were to turn on her.

I shrugged, "I’m just playing with them."

Without waiting for an answer, I tossed all eight sticks and watched as the dogs all turned around to chase after it while letting out happy barks.

"I’ve never seen them... So well behaved... Is this some kind of training?"

"No, like I said. It’s just playing."

"What... What exactly are you playing? I see that you’re basically teaching them to retrieve something, isn’t it?"

"It’s just a game. No need to think that deeply about it. Dogs like these kinds of games where they fetch something that you throw for them."

She watched as the dogs all chased after the sticks with the first one to retrieve it being Freyja again, my dog having the advantage of jumping higher and running faster than all the other dogs there to get her stick before returning to me.

Nerissa shuddered before opening her mouth for a moment and shutting it again.

I grinned at her and waved the stick Freyja retrieved for me, "Do you want to try?"

She paused before giving me a slow nod.

Oh? Surprising. The fact that she’s even willing to try is a pretty big step for her I believe.

Come on then.
