Chapter 970: I’m Already On The List
Chapter 970: I’m Already On The List
My girls mentioned something about a bar that they found here that was supposedly quite popular so I went ahead to search it up on the map and make it our meeting place.
I went over to the bar that was located in a downtown area and found quite a large crowd standing around a certain building which I assumed was the bar in question.
They weren’t kidding about this place being popular because this whole place was certainly packed.
It was to the point that I don’t even think we could get inside with how big of a crowd there was waiting in front of the bar to get in.
Hmm... Not sure why but I’m getting quite a big sense of deja vu from this particular sight...
Looking around, I didn’t see my girls so I assumed I was the first one to reach and sent a message to the group, telling them that we might not be able to get inside with this crowd.
Still... We already agreed to meet up here so I would just wait for them to show up here before we decide what we should do here.
While waiting, I decided to check out what made this bar so special in the first place and headed to the entrance of the bar where several bouncers were watching over the entrance.
I was honestly just going up to ask them what kind of bar this place was just to get an idea of what was so special about it but...
One of them immediately stepped forward and grabbed my shoulder, pushing me back while he swung out his arm to extend his baton that pulsed with electricity.
"Where do you think you’re going?" He growled, his cybernetic eyes glowing red as he glared at me.
A more animalistic growl came from the side and the bouncer froze before he moved his gaze down to the side, only to see Freyja advancing on him with her hackles raised and fangs bared.
The bouncer turned into a statue at that point and his cybernetic eyes even looked like they shorted out for a moment before it switched back on again, as if the person himself needed to do a reboot.
I cleared my throat, "Ahem... I would suggest that you back away from me slowly. Start by releasing my shoulder first and then deactivating whatever that weapon is in your hand."
The bouncer did not argue and did as I ordered.
His hand slowly lifted up from my shoulder and his baton retracted back into its handle before he took a very slow step back.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a few onlookers taking out their personal terminals and I bet I would be seeing videos like ’Dog owner terrorises innocent bouncer’ or something on the GalaNet soon.
Oh well... Not like I really care about that anyway since it wouldn’t really affect me.
Seeing him back away from me, Freyja finally relaxed slightly before she stopped growling at him, though her eyes remained on the guy, ready to pounce at him at any time.
I patted her head to get her to relax a little more before nodding at the bouncer, "Relax, I was just planning to ask what was so special about this bar since I heard some good stuff about it. I’m not intending to cut the queue if that was what you’re worried about."
He looked behind at his fellow bouncers before turning back to me, "You’re... What?"
I raised an eyebrow at him, "Was I not clear enough? I’m just wondering what’s so special about this bar. I have a couple of friends who recommended that I check out this place but... Seeing the long queue, I’m not really inclined to try and get in unless there’s another way that I can get in without queuing up. Or if whatever they have here is actually worth the queue, you know?"
The bouncer hesitated for a moment before he spoke again, "It’s... We just have the best drinks... And also the best bartenders."
I raised an eyebrow at him, "That’s a pretty impressive claim. Now that made me curious... Is there any way for people to enter the club without queueing up? Like a VIP pass or something?"
The bouncer hesitated again before grimacing, "We... Do have a VIP pass... But... There are very specific rules in obtaining it... I’m afraid... It is not something you can just buy or umm... Umm... Maybe you can get it after all..."
His voice trailed off after he looked in the direction of Freyja.
I’m guessing he thought that I would use her to threaten everyone here in order to get the pass but hey, I’m not that evil ok?
I’m willing to pay Credits to get in there if I have to as long as it’s worth it. I’m not going to just randomly attack people for no reason if they don’t deserve it, ok?
"Tell me what the conditions are," I asked, crossing my arms at him.
He grimaced, "That... Well... You... You have to beat our bartender in a mixing challenge..."
Beat the bartender... To get the VIP pass...
I... Am definitely getting a really big sense of deja vu here...
Wait... Could it be?
"Do you guys have access to the database where your VIPs’ details are stored so you can check if someone is a VIP?"
He gave me a curious look, "We do, yes... What about it?"
"Scan me."
He frowned and looked like he was just about to tell me off when his eyes drifted to where Freyja was standing again and quickly shut his mouth.
His cybernetic eyes then started projecting a light that scanned me for a moment before they suddenly flashed green.
The bouncer gaped, "V... VIP... Tera... You... Please forgive my rudeness..."
Oh my gods, it really is?!
This place belongs to Valiea and Ragbar!! Last we saw them, they had to pack up their things and run from their old place!
I mean... We do receive some messages from time to time but it’s not like we were really that close to know each other that intimately...
I at least knew from their messages that they also started another club where they continued to be bartenders... But I definitely did not know they were here!
What’s more... They actually preserved my VIP status even though this was not their old bar anymore, nor did I even ask them to do so.
I’m so touched~
I grinned, "Well then, I suppose in that case, there is no problem with me going in there now, is there?"
He quickly stepped aside and bowed his head, "Please go right ahead!!"
I stepped past him and typed a quick message to the girls, letting them know that the bar was actually owned by Valiea and Ragbar and they preserved my VIP status so we could enter this club as we pleased.
My girls should also be able to enter the club since they are associated with me so I don’t need to worry about them. Worse comes to worse, I just need to show up at the entrance again and tell the bouncers that they were with me to let them in.
Before I even stepped inside, one of the bouncers picked up his personal terminal and connected a call to someone.
"VIP at the door... Tell the boss that it’s her."
Oh? Is something going to happen?
I went past the door that slid closed as soon as I entered and I was met with the standard counter where you have to disarm first before you can enter the actual place.
The person in charge behind the counter had a face full of smiles when she saw me enter but then the smile became strained when she saw Freyja plodding in beside me.
"W... Welcome!!" She squeaked out, which I thought was quite commendable for her to do since she was obviously in fear for her life right now.
"Pl... Please... We would need you... To disarm here!" She continued, still trying to keep up her cheerful voice.
I placed my pistol, shotgun and my halberd on the counter before I looked down at Freyja panting up at me.
"Does she need to stay here as well?"
The girl made a very distressed sound before she straightened and squeaked out, "Y... Yes..."
"Where do you want her to stay?"
She relaxed very slightly, probably relieved that I was actually complying before she gestured to the side, "Ple... Please follow me..."
She stepped out from behind the counter and brought me to the side where she opened the door to show something like a store room where there were various lockboxes which I assumed was where they stored the weapons of the guests.
"There’s... A space at the back..." She muttered, pointing to an open area behind the shelves.
Honestly, I would rather Freyja come with me but... I doubt being in a noisy club would be nice for her either so I’d just let her chill out here instead.
"Go girl. Stay there, ok? Be a good girl until I come back."
Freyja gave a cute bark and plodded over to the back where she laid herself down on the floor at an angle where she was able to see the door.
Good girl.
Now... Where’s the couple?
