Hmm.
I checked my status screen while flying and groaned.
Those bastards are scum, but they’re pretty good.
Some things seem useful, while others don’t. But I feel like I’ve got quite a lot of skills now.
I’m particularly happy about these:
Ice Magic Lv5
Finally, the ice magic I’ve been wanting! I won’t use it now, but it’ll definitely come in handy in the summer.
Magic Manipulation Lv6
With the significant increase in skill level, I can release a small amount of magic outside my body. I can’t release it completely, but I think I can gain experience points for Non-Attribute Magic if I do it right. However, the magic that seeps out is black, so I can’t show it to anyone.
Magic Range Increase Lv2
This is a subtle but welcome addition. After the Magic Manipulation Level 3 skill unlock announcement, the skill acquisition announcement was displayed, so it seems to be a higher-level skill.
Magic Perception Lv4
I can now clearly see the location of magic stones inside monsters. I think this is probably the skill Ria used to examine my body when my magic turned black.
Appraisal Lv2
I don’t fully understand it yet, but it’s supposed to be a god-tier skill. It’s essential for enhancing equipment without relying on the goddess.
Mind’s Eye Lv2
This one is also a low-level skill, but it’s considered god-tier. Now, I can see the skills monsters possess, even from a distance. Not having to kill five of them or estimate their skill levels from experience points is a huge advantage. However, as expected, when I look at humans, I can only see their skills, not their status or ability stats like mine.
Investigation Lv5
I finally reached level 5. The range is 150 meters. It’s no exaggeration to say that I’ve been hunting villains for this skill.
Increased Automatic Magic Power Recovery Lv7
Thanks to the many ranged classes equipped with staff, this skill has improved significantly. Even while using Flight, the natural recovery rate is higher, making this a god-tier skill.
Hellfire Pillar Lv5
I have no idea where to use this skill, but I was able to use it anyway. However, I couldn’t use Fire Tail because I don’t have a tail.
These are the skills that I find most exciting.
There are also useful skills like Light Magic and Scorching Breath in certain situations. While most of my job-related skills are from others, I think I have a decent variety.
However, even at B rank, my skills aren’t that impressive.
I realized this during the villain hunt.
Their range of skills is much wider than the bandits, but I’d say their skill level is often only around 5.
Ultimately, the skill level is boosted by job bonuses, but those bonuses aren’t based on experience. Therefore, even if I defeat enemies, it doesn’t count toward my skill level.
Therefore, even if I defeat a group of people considered strong by general standards, most of my skills will only reach level 7 at best.
The only skills I was able to improve this time were Different Language Comprehension and Concealment. It seems like the wall at skill level 8 is pretty thick.
Also, the mysterious skill name used by the beastman pet is probably “Martial Arts.”
I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I tried “Exploding Strike,” based on the image of getting beaten up. My body moved on its own pretty quickly.
Given the similar movements, it seems unnecessary to say “Martial Arts” or “Swordsmanship” every time, as I did.
“The intention to use a skill,” “the magic power required to activate it,” “the name of the unique skill,” and “the expected action associated with that unique skill.”
If these four points are in order, one can immediately take action by saying the name of the unique skill in their head or out loud.
I think this is characteristic of weapon-based skills.
So, a lot of effort was wasted before.
This is also a very important point. Based on the results of this experiment, my understanding of Soul Armor has changed significantly.
Defense: Varakan (+687).
Ding!
Look at that increase!
It’s entertaining to go through multiple random elements and pursue the highest value.
However, from my perspective as someone who isn’t trying to obtain monster abilities from Soul Armor, I found it a bit dull compared to other top-tier blessings.
However, I realized this time that it changes dramatically when bosses are involved, which is a big discovery.
I ended up with a rather mediocre Agility (+74) when I got the rare Overflame Rock, so I wasn’t expecting such a significant increase in stats.
Ultimately, it all comes down to whether you can obtain the monster’s signature traits.
Bosses that you can’t try multiple times heavily depend on luck. Even so, the best strategy going forward is to strengthen my stats with the abilities I gain from bosses.
I wonder what kind of stats I’ll get from hidden bosses like King Ant…
Fufufu.
After all, it’s fun to see growth, whether in skill level or stats.
Indeed, improvement is fun.
As long as you improve…
It’s been seven days since I left Lowenfort.
I’m currently flying at breakneck speed toward the south of the Kingdom of Waltz, with the Palmera Great Forest to my left.
During that time, I passed through several towns, including the D-rank hunting ground that was supposed to be in the southeast. However, I was unable to acquire any skills, and my stats remained unchanged.
Of course, I saw monsters I had never seen before, even in the D-rank hunting grounds.
However, as I headed toward the hunting grounds and used Mind’s Eye, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.
“I already have that skill, you know…”
At the E- and D-rank levels, skill levels are typically around 1 to 3, so there was no point in trying to improve skills that were already decent. I immediately withdrew.
After repeating this process, I found myself making progress on the map alone.
Incidentally, the southern region isn’t exactly flat, but it isn’t full of rugged, mountainous areas either. Therefore, I rarely encountered mercenary guilds hunting bandits or thieves.
It’s good, but it feels incredibly peaceful, and there are no opportunities for growth.
“Wind, blow strongly from behind!”
Pshpshpsh…
I guess I have no choice, so I’ll boost and keep going.
The amount of magic power consumed by flying is so small that it’s naturally restored, so my magic power doesn’t decrease while flying.
To earn as many natural experience points as possible, I tried a few things; one of them was this boost spell.
I sprayed wind from the soles of my hands and feet like rockets to accelerate.
Then, I was able to temporarily reach the incredible speed Ril had when she carried me in her arms.
Wow, it’s fast!
It was so fast that, even with my face armor on, my nose was freezing.
(Ah…)
In the distance, I could see the lights of a small town—not a village.
Since it was completely dark outside, I decided to stay in the town for the night.
I’d love some steaming hot sweet potatoes and rich-tasting orc meat tonight.
With these thoughts in mind, I descended toward the town like a moth drawn to a light.
