Chapter 256 – Bath Craftsman Loki

The next day, with my magic fully restored, I returned to the base and handed out the items I had been asked to purchase.

“Zeo, I bought a saw, a mallet, and other woodworking tools you might need, as well as a fishing rod and line.”

“That’s a big help. It’s about time for some fish. I’ll catch a big one for you.”

“If Asia comes to borrow tools, please lend them to her. Here, Carla, I got you a nice knife. Is everything okay with the loot?”

“Yeah, I got a spear and some spare daggers, so I think that’s everything. That animal isn’t for me, right?”

“No, it’s for the people on the upper plateau. Carla will probably just drink its blood instead of keeping it as a pet.”

“There’s plenty of blood here. I’m not going to drink its blood. Hey, can I keep one too? I found a wild boar in the forest the other day, and it wasn’t a monster.”

“Eh? Really? Are you serious? Why would you want to keep a wild boar?”

They can survive in this environment, but since they’re still in the forest, they may not be completely safe.

It’s up to the two of them, so I told him to do whatever he wants. If he wants to keep it, then so be it. I headed to the upper plateau.

I called out to Alicia, who was doing something on the roof as usual.

“Hey! I bought all the things you wanted!”

“Okay, just a moment… Wait, Loki-kun…? Is that a cat you’re holding in your arms?”

Alicia jumped off the roof and landed right in front of me.

With these mysterious physical abilities, she really is a goddess.

“Yeah, I found it in the capital. It’s really skinny, so I think it’s a stray, but it’s really friendly.”

“N-no. I never said I wanted one. You said you’d get one when you went to the dungeon, didn’t you?”

“Hmm… But you were looking at that book for a long time, weren’t you? I think it’s fine to get one for Feeril and Felin when I go to the dungeon. Alicia is mostly here, though. If it’s still difficult, though, I can take it to the lower plateau, since Carla wanted it.”

“N-n-no, you can’t! I’ll keep it! I’ll take responsibility for that kitten!”

“Really? Then make sure it doesn’t fall down. And then…”

With that said, I lined up the items I had bought at the cooking utensil store: pots, frying pans, and mortars.

I also bought three magic tools for lighting.

Alicia seemed to be working until just before sunset. However, if she used Night Vision or Light Magic, it would prevent other work from progressing.

“Here you go, Alicia. All the cooking utensils you wanted. I’m not much of a cook, so some of them might be useless. I also bought magic tools for lighting, so take your time and try them out.”

“Ugh… Thank you, Loki-kun.”

“By the way, I’ll leave the loot from defeating the bandits and thieves here. There’s probably a lot of stuff other than equipment, so take whatever catches your eye. I’ll go prepare a bath for everyone in the meantime!”

“Eh?”

We had already discussed the shape and location of the bath.

Actually, Feeril has almost complete control over the bath, so when she insisted on this location, everyone was silenced, and no one dared to complain.

I guess it’s understandable, though, since their first experience was in the middle of a river.

But is this really what they want?

I’m confident in my skills as a bath craftsman, but I’m also filled with anxiety and anticipation.

I flew over to the edge of the upper plateau cliff.

Looking down at the river, which seemed to be about 15 meters wide, I created a large, square stone, about four meters on each side, at the edge where the water was flowing down.

Using the same method as before, I sank most of the stone into the riverbed. I confirmed that it wouldn’t budge in the current before using Spatial Magic.

(Imagine carving out a hemisphere from the center of the stone…)

“Disappear.”

Hmm, it’s so perfect that it’s scary.

The center can be used as a standing bath, and the rest can be used for sitting and enjoying the view. I made a flat seat about 50 cm from the top and dug deeper on the bottom on the opposite side of the waterfall.

If I place heated stones here, no one will get burned.

The only drawback is that it’s an exclusive goddess bath, so magic is required to fill and empty it.

However, as Zeo taught me the other day, Water Magic can manipulate existing water, not just create it, so I’m sure they’ll be able to handle it.

On the contrary, I’m worried that they might destroy the bath while cleaning it.

While I’m at it, I’ll use the ink I prepared for this occasion to write:

“If you need to warm stones quickly, go to Loki.”

If I put up a sign like that, my White Fire will spectacularly spew flames.

You could get lucky in more ways than one here, but if I take a bath, it’ll feel like I’m soaking in a river with the water level just above my head.

Unlike last time, there’s no ground in front, so it’ll feel like you’re flying in the sky while bathing.

Nothing blocks the view, so it’s almost too good to be true. Haha, this will definitely make Feeril melt.

It only took about ten minutes.

As I savored the greatness of Spatial Magic, which made the work much easier, Alicia finished searching the loot. She held several folded pieces of cloth in her hands.

“Huh, there’s something like that, too. That’s not clothing, is it?”

“It’s fabric before it’s been woven. That’s all I know about it.”

“So, you’re going to make something out of that? In that case, you’ll need scissors to cut the fabric and needles to sew it, right?”

“I don’t know. There are other things I need to do first, so it can wait. I’ll look into it while I’m at it!”

“Okay, I’ll leave a wooden box here for you to use for storage. I’m off hunting.”

With Alicia, whose cat had run away, seeing me off, I left all the unnecessary items in the stone house—which was now a storage room—and flew to the hunting ground, feeling light.

The minimum skill target and level-up are just a little further.

Once that’s done, it’s finally time for the central area.

Thinking of that, my motivation surged, and I prioritized obtaining Night Vision. I sliced the owl monster, Stolas, in two.
