Chapter 28
Chapter 28
This is the only arms shop in town that also sells armor, so it goes without saying that it is the go-to place for hunters in Bezart.
I have a feeling that there is only one shop and no rivals, or that I might get ripped off… but if it doesn’t look good, I’ll just get help.
I arrived in a few minutes, and with my heart pounding, I browsed the store’s wares.
Meanwhile, Zink-kun, who buys knives here, negotiates with the shopkeeper, a rather unfriendly, large man with navy-colored hair, a color rarely seen on Earth.
Hmmm…I wonder if the swords and spears randomly stuck in the barrels by the entrance are used goods…
The barrels are marked “50,000 Bike” and “100,000 Bike,” so it must be some kind of fixed-price bargain sale.
The prices were attractive – but… to begin with, there was only long equipment for adults.
And as one gets closer to the counter in the back, the more expensive items are indeed more noticeable, with a variety of slightly exciting equipment on display, including armor that looks like a different material than iron, a shiny bluish sword, and a staff embedded with a jewel.
When I looked at the prices…well, let’s see.
I could clearly recognize that this equipment is too unrelated to me because it says roughly 12 million Bike.
Apparently, 30 years is too early.
I would like to visit an arms shop in a small town at least once to see how expensive weapons are sold in a big city like the Royal City, just to chill out.
But, you know…
I can’t keep using a flat-blade screwdriver forever, nor a long sword that is longer than a knife and over a meter long.
We need a 70-80 cm sword as soon as possible.
As I wander around the store with this in mind, I spot a weapon that looks like it hanging on the wall.
[Short Sword Paicer ability grant: magic power increase Price: 550,000 Bike].
Is Paicer the name of the weapon or the name of the person who made it?
I don’t know, but in a world where weapons on the other shelves all cost more than a million dollars, this might be a pretty good deal for a weapon to start out with.
And and there’s ability grant.
I believe there was a [Grant] skill, so the weapon must have been processed using that skill as well.
While I was thinking about this, it seemed that Zink-kun had finished his negotiations.
“Loki, this sword is worth 5,0000 Bike! You don’t mind if I sell it?”
“Yes, go ahead. By the way, how much is it for one person divided by four?”
“I don’t know!”
“Well, Shopkeeper-san, I’d like to split the cost of the sword between the four of us, ideally 80,000 Bikes.
“Pretty clever are you, however, we are a business. I can’t make a purchase that will result in a loss.”
“Of course. But this sword will be sold in the barrel there, right? Since Shopkeeper-san won’t claim that you bought it for 50,000 and sold it for 50,000, you would sell it in the 100,000 barrels, wouldn’t you?
“Oh…so what?”
“That would mean that you have calculated that you can sell it for twice as much. The value won’t be in the red yet, and it won’t be something that will just sit there and rot. If that’s the case, why don’t you give us a little more? If you are already final with that, I will keep the sword. I’m wondering if I should let Potta-kun, the big guy to have it, depending on how much it costs.”
