Chapter 789: Fun With Erebus

The Red Dragon landed at the snow-covered part of the mountain base.

Erebus used his powers and let Seren stand on the ground.

"Whoa! Snow," she quickly knelt and picked up the snow in her hands, feeling its coldness and lightness. "I have always been curious about two things, the sea and snow. And both my wishes were fulfilled once I left Abetha. I am so happy."

In response, the dragon lowered its head to the snow, its huge nostrils flaring, and then it inhaled deeply, its eyes closed. He then looked at Seren.

She understood and inhaled closely at the snow in her hands. "It smells close to the first rain, or I must say earth, but in a colder way. While rain feels warm. It's beautiful."

A content growl left his chest, while Seren said again, "I know. Drayce had told me you like this scent, and you get the same scent of snow from me."

Erebus looked at her and then looked around. He found what he was looking for. There were bushes of plants with white flowers on them. He used his powers to pluck some flowers and brought them to Seren. She let go of the snow and held the flowers in her hand.

Seren knew what to do. "I know these flowers. This is another scent you get from me," and she sniffed them, a smile appearing on her face. "I am glad I smell like snow and these flowers to you. I smell beautiful, it seems."

She looked up at the sky and said, "I wish it was snowing. Never mind, I will just enjoy it." She knelt again and picked up the snow, mixed it with flowers, and made a ball.

The next moment, she threw it at Erebus. It hit the center of his massive head and scattered.

Seren giggled. "Don't mind me. I just wanted to play like those kids in the stories I read."

In response, Erebus used his powers, and a ball of snow began forming in the air.

"You are not planning to hit me, right?" Seren took a step back, as it didn't look like a tiny ball she made, but its size was getting bigger and bigger. If he hit her, her entire form would be buried under it.

Finally, he stopped, and his red self observed her.

"You are not serious, right?" Seren feared now. If it was Drayce, she was sure he wouldn't do it. But she couldn't guarantee the way this beast might like to play.

The ball moved. Seren let out a heavy scream as she closed her eyes, expecting to be hit. But…

Tiny snowflakes started to fall over her. She opened her eyes and didn't see that huge snowball. She looked up and noticed the ball had scattered in the air, letting snow fall on her.

"You almost scared me," she mumbled. "I liked this," her hands trying to feel the falling snow.

Soon, there was more snow, and Seren looked at him. "You can make snow fall using your powers? That's amazing. We might try it inside our chamber once we return to Agartha. How about it?"

Erebus responded with a low growl, as if agreeing to whatever she wished for.

In the night, Seren was sitting on a wooden bench outside, watching the starry sky. It reminded her of Drayce, as they often enjoyed such a beautiful view together.

'I wonder if Drayce can see it all, how Erebus is always aware of Drayce and me. Or if Erebus has blocked Drayce from prying into him, like how he always did, never allowing Drayce to know anything about him,' she thought. 'I wonder what his consciousness must be up to now? What's going on in Drayce's mind?'

Just then, a warm cloth wrapped around her as she watched Erebus sitting next to her.

"Thank you," she said, enjoying the warmth, but then, without warning, she was moved like a weightless object and found herself sitting in his lap.

She let out a yawn and rested her head against his chest. "I feel tired and sleepy."

In response, his hands tightened around her, only to lift her in his arms the next moment to carry her inside the home. He laid her in bed and climbed in as well.

With her sleepy eyes, she looked at him. "You are not planning to mate now."

The next moment, the lamps in the room were turned off, and she found herself pulled into a pair of arms, pressed against a sturdy body.

"Sleep." She heard a deep, throaty voice over her head.

She let out a sigh of relief that he was going to let her rest tonight. "Thank you," she murmured against his chest and closed her eyes.

He had been like the beast he was supposed to be, but it was also the truth that he cared for his mate.

The next morning, Seren woke up, only to find herself alone in the bed. Now entirely rejuvenated and refreshed with a long sleep, she stepped out of the bed to find her mate. She heard sounds from the kitchen and headed there.

A tall figure, his back to her, was busy preparing a meal.

"Good morning, Erebus," she said and walked closer. "Aren't you using your powers to cook today? I see you can cook…"

Just then, he turned around to face her. Seren froze, and she could tell clearly it wasn't Erebus.

"Dray?" she said.

"Sad to see him gone?" Drayce asked, staring straight into her eyes, as if trying to look through her soul.

"No… I mean…" She let out an annoyed sigh and stepped ahead to hug him. "Please, do not ask me such questions, the answer to which might upset either him or you, alright? If I say no, it will hurt him, if I say yes, it will hurt you. Just understand, whoever is in front of me, I am happy with him. For me, you two are one, alright?"

"My apologies for putting you through such a dilemma," Drayce caressed her back. "But know that I missed you a lot, like I haven't seen you for eternity."

She looked back at him. "Did you see the mark?"

He looked at her neck. "I saw it when you were sleeping. It's beautiful."

She hummed and said, "I am hungry."

"Everything's ready," he guided her toward the table.

As both of them ate, Drayce informed, "Arlan and Oriana are here for the marking ceremony."

She chewed the tasty bite and asked, "When did they arrive, and when's the ceremony?"

"They arrived yesterday, and it's today. Once you are ready, we will leave to meet them and attend it."

She hummed and said, "But I don't have any proper clothes here. All those dresses Erebus brought are just…"

"I know that beast is just horny," Drayce chuckled.

She chuckled softly as well. "As if you are any different from that beast."

"Won't deny it," he admitted. "Don't worry. I have already brought everything you need. New dresses and jewelry."

"Are you going to come like this? Is wearing just a magical cloth around your waist?"

"I have my usual clothes as well."

After the meal, both got ready and headed toward King Draven's palace using teleportation magic.
