Chapter 603 - 7: Then Treat Me to Dinner
Chapter 603: Chapter 7: Then Treat Me to Dinner
The air in the study seemed to have solidified.
Lynch was caught off guard by Kong’s sudden action!
He instinctively turned his head to the side: "What are you doing?!"
A very light laugh came from behind, tinged with a hint of playfulness and an almost imperceptible teasing: "Heh... Who would have thought, a Domain Wizard who can face decay and the power of time has such a... gentlemanly side?"
The ethereal voice paused, carrying a touch of mischief, "Didn’t you want to see my Domain Document?"
Lynch was taken aback.
He then turned his head back.
What came into view was not a seductive body, but... a breathtaking rules diagram!
Kong still stood there, a moon-white robe falling to her ankles.
However, on her jade-like skin, countless complex and extremely mysterious silver runes were emerging! These runes were not static but flowed, shifted, and flickered around her like living creatures, forming a grand and intricate three-dimensional network!
They weren’t inscribed on her skin, but seemed to naturally emanate from her flesh, bones, and even the depths of her soul, merging into one with her whole being, exuding a pure and vast aura of space rules!
The surrounding scenery changed instantly! The study’s bookshelves, tables and chairs, the sunlight outside the window... all blurred and faded like an aged oil painting. Lynch felt as if he were instantly pulled into an endless void dotted with stars!
This void was silent, with only him and the nude figure standing opposite, surrounded by a brilliant network of runes, remaining.
"My Domain Document has long been imprinted with my very existence." Kong’s voice echoed in this consciousness space, still ethereal but imbued with a certain indescribable solemnity.
"To see my document, one must directly view the ’container’ that holds it. Every rune is a manifestation of my understanding of space, inseparable from every inch of my flesh, soul, and even existence."
Her whirlpool-like silver eyes turned to Lynch, carrying a hint of enigmatic inquiry, "Now, Mr. Lynch, do you still wish to ’look’ further?"
Lynch did not answer.
His gaze had long been firmly captivated by the ever-flowing rune network. The initial hint of embarrassment had been completely replaced by pure and intense curiosity. His gray eyes sparkled with unprecedented focus, as if he wished to imprint the vast rules diagram before him deep into his soul.
"Please allow me to continue to observe, Miss Kong." Lynch’s voice was steady and resolute, without a hint of hesitation or distraction. He nodded slightly, his gaze scanning like the most precise radar, starting to analyze, memorize, and understand bit by bit along the complex paths of the runes.
Time lost its meaning in this space of consciousness. Lynch was completely immersed in the analysis of the Space Domain Document.
He saw how the nodes of space folding construct stable passages, saw how the power of void annihilation was exquisitely bound into an offensive edge, saw how the runes of Space Anchor resonate with the planar rules... Countless fragments of knowledge, once obscure in books, now vividly coalesced before the living, functioning Domain Document!
At times he furrowed his brows, pondering bitterly; at others, a spark of insight burst forth in his eyes, revealing frenzied joy of realization; sometimes his fingers unconsciously sketched in the void, simulating the arrangement and combination of runes.
His spirit was highly focused, with the Grid Circuit operating at full capacity, greedily absorbing this invaluable wealth of knowledge. From beginning to end, he never cast the slightest distracted glance at the enchanting ’Kong’ who was so close at hand.
Kong quietly floated in the void, like a perfect sculpture radiating the light of rules. Her whirlpool-like eyes, however, remained on Lynch, observing every tiny change in his expression, every rhythm of his breathing, every glow of focus emanating from understanding.
The initial hint of amusement on her ethereal and indifferent face gradually faded, replaced by a pure curiosity with an evaluative undertone. This newly minted Domain Master, faced with such great temptation and close disturbance, showed strength of will and purity of curiosity that indeed exceeded her expectations.
No one knew how much time passed, perhaps several hours, perhaps days within the consciousness space.
Lynch exhaled a long breath, the substantial analysis glow in his eyes slowly retracting. He gently closed his eyes, seeming to complete the deduction of the last rune path in his mind, then reopened his eyes to look at ’Kong’.
His gaze was clear and bright, filled with a sense of fulfillment from acquiring knowledge and reverence for it.
"Miss Kong," Lynch solemnly performed the highest ritual of gratitude between wizards, "Thank you for your generosity and trust. This observation has been of tremendous help to me, its value immeasurable."
"Equivalent exchange, that is the wizard’s rule." He paused before continuing, "Please tell me the price I must pay, be it Magic Stones, resources, knowledge, or a promise. As long as it is within my capabilities, Lynch will not decline."
Even though what was shown was not a core secret, merely observing these branches and rune arrangements was undoubtedly worth more than a million Magic Stones.
The glow of the runes on Kong gradually faded, and her moon-white robe silently covered her perfect body once again, with the consciousness space also dissipating, returning both to the study in the Guardian Tower. The sun remained warm, as if the shocking scene earlier had never occurred.
Hearing Lynch’s solemn gratitude and proposed compensation, a very faint but unmistakably mischievous curve appeared again on Kong’s ethereal face.
"Cost? Those ’random things’, I don’t need."
She tilted her head slightly, and her silver-white, ankle-length hair flowed silently over her slender shoulders like moonlight-woven satin, casting a nearly fantastical halo in the sunlight. Her whirlpool-like silver eyes seemed to slow their spinning, clearly reflecting Lynch’s slightly bewildered face.
Lynch was slightly taken aback, all his prepared responses seeming to strike nothing but cotton. He maintained his slightly bowed posture, his gaze full of pure puzzlement and focused anticipation for her next words. Don’t need anything? Then what did she want, knowledge? Some secret? Or...
As Lynch’s mind raced, Kong moved.
She took a light step forward, drawing closer, her ethereal voice carrying a hint of an indescribable, almost human warmth, floated into Lynch’s ears with a completely unexpected answer:
"If you truly wish to thank me... then invite me to dinner. I hear the moonlight fish soup in Jade Land... is quite nice?"
