Chapter 741 - 47: Reversal

Chapter 741: Chapter 47: Reversal

With the efficient and precise dismantling work of the alchemy golems below, the runes of the pseudo-rule grafting array dimmed and shattered one by one, and the energy circuits were forcibly cut off. High above, Cyrus immediately felt with clarity the power of the Death Rule that originally surged into his body like a river was rapidly diminishing and drying up!

The dark mist around him, as dense as ink, became thin, and the pulsating dark red runes on his skin flickered violently before quickly dimming, as if they had lost their energy source. That sense of wielding Rules, almost omnipotent strength, receded from his body like the tide.

"Power... my power..."

For the first time, Cyrus’s face showed a look of panic and disbelief as he felt his realm level rapidly declining. He suddenly raised his head and glared at Lynch with eyes filled with venom and rage, roaring, "Damn bastard! What have you done to my array?!"

Lynch hovered leisurely in the air, facing Cyrus’s impotent rage. He merely smirked, his tone teasing: "Why don’t you guess?"

Before the words fell, he had already launched another assault! The Ifrid’s Sword in his hand burst into intense flames. Although the rule power contained within was also weakening, it remained incredibly sharp.

He no longer aimed for a one-hit kill. Instead, he transformed into a relentless Flame Storm, tightly entangling Cyrus. The sword light followed him like a shadow, forcing Cyrus to constantly defend and dodge, leaving him unable to break free.

Lynch was well aware that such an attack, with both sides’ rule power beginning to wane, was unlikely to cause critical harm to Cyrus. But that was not his intention.

His purpose was exceedingly clear—to delay!

All he needed to do was keep Cyrus firmly tied up, buying enough time for the hardworking alchemy golems below to completely dismantle the pseudo-rule grafting array. Once Cyrus lost this external support, his power would instantly revert to its original state, falling back to the domain level. At that point, subduing him would be a breeze!

It wouldn’t even require Lynch to take action himself. Below, those domain wizards whom Cyrus had just trampled down and filled with rage would be eager to devour him alive.

Cyrus was equally aware of this! The shadow of death, like a cold venomous snake, coiled around his spine.

He became increasingly agitated and frantic, his attacks suddenly becoming fierce as he tried desperately to force Lynch back, no matter the cost, even if it meant taking a few hits, to break through and stop the alchemy golems that were destroying his power foundation!

"Get out of my way!" he roared, swinging his arms to unleash waves of pitch-black shock waves infused with the remnants of rule power, attempting to tear through Lynch’s blockade.

However, Lynch, like the craftiest hunter, remained unmoved. His movement technique was incredibly agile, and with the cooperation of his spatial ability and swordsmanship, he could always intercept precisely in the direction Cyrus most wanted to breach, repeatedly forcing him back into the center of the battle circle. The flames of the Ifrid’s Sword were like a bone-gnawing sore that Cyrus could not ignore.

Unable to break through after prolonged assaults, with his power still continuously draining away, the anxiety and fear within Cyrus grew wildly like weeds. He even began to resort to threats, attempting to use the forces behind him to intimidate Lynch:

"Damn bastard! Do you really want to have a life-and-death struggle with us, the Tower of Order?! Think about the consequences of offending us! It’s not too late to stop now!"

Facing this impotent threat, Lynch casually deflected an attack with his sword, his tone filled with undisguised mockery:

"Oh? The Tower of Order? What a grand name. Are you trying to scare me? Too bad, I’ve never been one to scare easily. Besides... here is the Lost Tower, life and death are beyond one’s control!"

As the two fiercely clashed, they also exchanged sharp words. Cyrus, enraged by Lynch’s repeated taunts, had his face turn red and white in turns, yet was helpless, and the sense of despair in his heart grew ever stronger.

However, just at the moment when Cyrus’s mind was in turmoil due to yet another failed breakout—

His face suddenly changed drastically! It was as if a crucial connection within his body had been completely severed, and an unprecedented sense of weakness swept through his body! The last trace of rule fluctuations around him flickered like a candle in the wind and was completely extinguished!

Meanwhile, the teasing smile at the corner of Lynch’s mouth blossomed into something incredibly brilliant yet ice-cold at this moment.

Below, among the forbidden formation’s sea of flowers, as the last rune of the core energy circuit was precisely pried away and shattered by the alchemy golem, the glow of the entire pseudo-rule grafting array dimmed completely, all anomalies instantly vanishing as if they had never existed.

The array was completely dismantled!

Cyrus’s face changed drastically, feeling as if his backbone had been extracted, the terrifying and majestic rule aura around him receded and collapsed like the ebb tide! The evil runes on his skin rapidly dimmed and faded, and the surrounding black mist became thin and insubstantial, unable to maintain that domineering presence over all living things.

"Damn it!" he growled, his voice filled with unwillingness and panic.

At this point, he knew better than anyone else that the game was over! If he didn’t escape now, once his power completely fell back to the domain level, facing Lynch and those domain wizards he’d just viciously abused and who were eyeing him with hostility, he was at absolute risk of falling here!

The survival instinct overrode everything! His eyes flashed with determination, and with resolute decisiveness, he mustered the last remnants of rule power in his body, launching a thick, final attack infused with the Power of Death Rule straight at the relentless Lynch’s pursuit.

Simultaneously, he turned away without hesitation, transforming into a dim stream of light, fleeing desperately toward the edge of the "Dark Prison Sky" barrier, which was beginning to destabilize due to the disintegration of the array, opposite the Lost Fruit Tree!

"Trying to escape?"

Lynch snorted coldly. At this moment, he still maintained his rule-level strength. Facing this hasty counterattack, he casually swung the Ifrid’s Sword, the fiery light of the sword cutting through and evaporating the black mist like melting snow in the sun.

He moved to give chase, determined to put down this lingering threat once and for all.

However, the black mist that was shattered did not completely dissipate. The last trace of pure death rule within it, as if possessing sentience, suddenly fragmented into several small black lightning bolts. At an astonishing speed, they bypassed Lynch at tricky angles, aiming straight at the recently relieved Vanilla, Space, Philis, and others!

This sudden attack instantly changed the color of the domain wizards’ faces! They were in poor condition at the moment, and even though it was just the residual rule power from Cyrus’s resentful strike before fleeing, it was far beyond their current capacity to withstand!

Once hit, the consequences would be unthinkable!

"Watch out!"

Seeing this from the corner of his eye, Lynch’s pursuit abruptly halted. His brows furrowed, a flicker of contemplation crossed his eyes, but his body instinctively made a choice—

He gave up the best opportunity to chase down Cyrus, flickering in a flash to appear in front of Vanilla and the others.

His great sword swung horizontally, drawing a burning flame barrier. Simultaneously, space power rippled, forcibly bending the trajectory of several black lightning bolts, guiding and diverting them until they were ultimately extinguished amid explosions.

Though the crisis was successfully averted, this moment of delay was more than enough—

Taking advantage of the precious gap as Lynch returned to support, the dim stream of light that Cyrus had transformed into collided violently with the thinning, unstable edge of the "Dark Prison Sky" barrier!

Accompanied by intense spatial ripples and a sound like shattering glass, he tore open a temporary breach in the barrier, his silhouette flashed, and he disappeared beyond the breach, leaving no trace!

"Cyrus is gone..." Space looked at the rapidly closing breach in the barrier, his brows knitted, his voice tinged with a hint of regret and concern.

Lynch stood with his sword, staring in the direction Cyrus vanished, his gaze as icy as perpetual ice. He naturally understood the consequences of letting a tiger return to the mountain. At this moment, he and Cyrus, and the Tower of Order, were entangled in a life-and-death enmity.

Without eliminating this threat during its moment of weakness, it would surely become a significant future threat. The principle of eradicating threats at their roots was one he understood better than anyone.

"He won’t escape!" his voice was chilling, filled with an undeniable intent to kill.

In his eyes flashed a steely coldness, Lynch hesitated no longer. The rule power surged around him once more, locking onto the faint yet clear energy trace and soul wave Cyrus had left in the space as he fled. His figure flickered, and like an arrow released from a bow, he pierced through the not yet fully closed barrier breach to chase vehemently in the direction Cyrus fled!

This hunt, a battle to the death!
