Chapter 790 - 6: Distance

Chapter 790: Chapter 6: Distance

"Cough!"

Looking at the familiar emotions in Lanice’s eyes, Lynch coughed lightly with slight embarrassment, subconsciously avoiding her gaze.

He had originally thought that after the long passage of one or two hundred years, she would have long let go of the youthful persistence from her girlhood. But now it seems, he had indeed oversimplified things.

He hurriedly diverted his gaze and awkwardly changed the subject: "Aren’t you curious how I found you?"

Seeing his instinctive avoidance, Lanice’s bright eyes slightly dimmed, a trace of disappointment flashed through.

But after all, she was no longer that emotionally-driven young girl; she quickly adjusted her mindset, a gentle curve graced her lips once again as she replied softly, "Being able to see you again is already a reason to be happy. The rest...doesn’t matter."

So persistent...

Lynch sighed silently once again in his heart.

He decided not to dwell on the topic any further, and began to explain, as if stating a fact: "I covered this area with my Spiritual Field, initially just to locate the pursuers’ positions and movements, but unexpectedly sensed a familiar spiritual wave among them."

"You’ve grown a lot, and the characteristics of your spiritual power have also changed somewhat. At first, I wasn’t quite sure, but eventually proved my judgment correct."

Lanice, after hearing, was slightly stunned, her keen senses catching the crucial information in his words, her tone filled with disbelief: "Covered this whole area? You mean... the entire forest on the Western Border of Saladin Kingdom, or...?"

How immense spiritual power would be required for that? This has far exceeded her understanding of a "powerful wizard."

Lynch calmly nodded, affirming her guess: "Yes, the entire Saladin Kingdom."

The doubt on Lanice’s face deepened, her brows slightly furrowed. If what Lynch said was true, then this would require Domain Level spiritual power to accomplish such a feat.

But reaching Domain Level was an achievement attributed to those of great renown, whose names echoed throughout the Wizard Continent.

As a senior of the Freemasonry Church, she often needed to interact with nearby Witch Domains. Even if she hadn’t seen all the renowned Domain Powerhouses, she at least heard of their names. She was certain, none of them bore the name "Lynch."

Lynch could see the tumbling doubt in her heart, but instead of explaining, he spoke as though in idle conversation, in a light and nonchalant tone: "These years outside, I’ve done a lot. Previously due to the Supreme Council’s warrant, I had to operate under a new identity. You don’t know my new name, do you?"

He paused, then clearly and slowly spoke that name, now echoed throughout numerous Witch Domains:

"Saphiros Alsaas Diablo."

"What?!"

The name exploded like thunder in Lanice’s ears! Her whole body trembled as if struck by an invisible hammer, subconsciously taking a half step back, her beautiful eyes suddenly widened to the extreme, filled with utmost shock and disbelief!

Saphiro!

This name, over the years, had soared like a comet, resounding throughout the Wizard World!

That incredibly young genius unified the chaotic Jade Land with thunderous means, reshaping order in the Black Witch Domain, establishing a completely new rule system under the shadow of darkness.

Afterwards even initiated the excavation of Ancient Relics, surpassing the Four Great Witch Realms’ reach! He wasn’t only the new Lord of Emerald but also the youngest member of the Supreme Council, indisputably the most dazzling newcomer in today’s Wizard World, riding high on a wave of glory!

This name was perpetually on the Freemasonry Church’s highest priority watchlist! Previously even leading the Church to suffer heavy casualties, hastily launching a full assault on the remaining Wizard Family forces, one major reason being this young luminary’s rumored intention to mediate in the Ancient Ruins conflicts!

Lanice’s voice trembled from the intense shock, hardly able to believe, as she repeated, word by word: "You... you’re saying... you are Saphiro?! That new Lord of Emerald, the youngest Supreme Council member...?"

Lynch shrugged, confirming the response.

Lanice was stunned.

Looking at the familiar yet strange face in front of her, feeling her mind blanked out, a violent collision was happening between past perceptions and the present reality, making her unable to process the immense information.

The young wizard from her memories had reached such heights, becoming a giant influential enough to reshape the Wizard World’s landscape?

Thinking this, Lanice couldn’t help but feel a bitter sensation hard to describe in her heart.

For years, she never relaxed even a moment. She worked harder than anyone, bearing unimaginable hardships.

With an obsessive determination, she pushed herself into one of the fastest rising young priests within the Freemasonry Church, having entered the High-level Wizard level, almost just one step away from the Mystical Realm coveted by countless wizards.

She had always thought, as she desperately chased, that finally shortened the distance to the memory of that figure. She once secretly hoped, once she stepped into the Mystical Realm, she could truly converse at the same level, no longer as the apprentice who needed to look up to him.

Just unexpected...

Unexpected...

Unexpected that the passage of time hadn’t diluted the difference, but instead pushed him to a summit she even struggled to gaze upon.

Domain... Lord of Emerald... Supreme Council member... Each of these titles weighed heavily, clearly making her realize the gulf between them wasn’t something effort could bridge.

After a long time, Lanice slowly returned from the overwhelming shock, letting out a prolonged sigh, her tone complex beyond description: "You... truly surprised me."

Lynch could see the desolation in her expression, yet casually expressed humbly: "Just a bit of good luck, having some unique experiences is all."

He paused, pulling back his drifting thoughts, his expression becoming more formal: "Let bygones be bygones. This time looking for you, besides seeing old friends, I want to ask you about something."

Lanice quickly collected her personal emotions, regaining her composure as a High Priest of the Church, asking: "What is it?"

Lynch’s expression turned serious, his eyes sharply fixed on her, his voice low and clear:

"What happened with your Freemasonry Church all these years? And, Erodion... what exactly does he want?"
