Chapter 1310 - 610: The Emergence of Three Hearts (Part 2)
Chapter 1310: Chapter 610: The Emergence of Three Hearts (Part 2)
The air was torn into layered ripples by his aura, as though all the light between heaven and earth gathered here, only to be transmuted into a force of annihilation.
"You mortals, who delude yourselves that you can shake the will of the gods!" The Pope’s voice boomed like thunder detonating, "Tonight, I shall cleanse all your rebellion and blasphemy with the Spear of Divine Judgment! Let purifying flames fill this world!"
Before his words had fully fallen, he slowly raised his hands, and a heavy, ancient volume—the Holy Scripture of Light—rose from behind the altar, floating into the air.
Rune-flames wreathed the tome, burning and leaping like living things.
Immediately, a colossal forbidden-curse Magic Array of ultimate brilliance, woven in blinding gold and silver hues, manifested above the altar.
This was the core Array of the legendary ultimate forbidden spell, the "Spear of Divine Judgment," its might sufficient to obliterate all darkness in an instant, and to shatter any power of resistance.
David stood opposite the altar, his whole body encased in armor of blue-and-white sacred flames that flickered without cease, the Chaos Core within him roaring at full fervor, as though bearing the condensation of endless stars.
He clenched his fists, an overwhelming aura radiating from his entire being, locked in ferocious confrontation with the Pope’s boundless, tyrannical divine-judgment Energy.
He fixed his gaze ahead, every muscle taut, each breath steady and weighty; even facing a blow of pure annihilation, he showed not a single trace of retreat.
"I will not let you cloak coercion in false sanctity and impose it upon the world!" David said, his voice low and resonant. "The Witch Rider Corps and all who hold unwavering faith will shatter your tyranny with true free will!"
As his words ended, the surrounding air instantly congealed into thick, solid barriers.
Liya, Lucia, Cynthia, and Annie followed close behind; they each unleashed their most potent arcane arts and Magic Power, fusing their spirits into an unbreakable Shield, using the power of the Witch Rider Corps to withstand that vast, epic forbidden-curse force.
Lucia swept the sleeve of her robe, and a vortex of arcane starlight formed, surging in from all sides and canceling the fluctuations of the forbidden spell;
Liya raised her Life Rune staff, channeling Life Energy that continually poured into the Shield;
Cynthia swung Ice Sword Qi with a chilling grace, gradually freezing and disintegrating the enemy’s attacks;
Annie’s face flashed with a sly smile as she invoked the Soul-Devouring Curse—an ancient malediction capable of stripping the essence of the Soul and collapsing the target’s spiritual structure down to its deepest roots, spreading silently through the Shadow.
The clash reached its zenith—a massive spear-shaped surge of Energy, woven in gold and silver and inscribed with myriad spinning, shifting Runes, lanced straight down from the heavens toward David.
But the blue-and-white Chaos Core within him erupted to the Limit, and with a will of steel he forcibly endured the impact.
Time Space itself quaked and shattered in rapid succession, countless shards and motes of dust whirling aloft, as though the world was unleashing its most ferocious and resplendent storm!
At that very moment, Annie struck while the enemy’s defenses faltered. She fixed her gaze upon the Pope’s true body, imprisoned within the vast Magic Array suspended overhead, and drove the Soul-Devouring Curse to its peak.
Black Shadows spread like spiderwebs, racing outward in a blink, clinging to the enemy’s entire form, relentlessly stripping away the secret, long-hidden Divine Power within his Divine Format, leaving him gradually bereft of protection and the ability to strike back.
"The storm has come; we shall cleanse the dust!" Liya cried. At the tip of her Life Rune staff, dazzling radiance burst forth, infusing her companions with steadfast courage and unyielding resolve.
Hill swung his Longsword in sweeping arcs, severing several pathways shrouded in obstructing Magic, carving out a breach for the team under the glow of his spectral blue Sword Qi.
Meanwhile, Lucia guided the Star Track Arcane Array from the side, constantly eroding and disrupting the enemy’s defensive barrier, striking every critical point with the precision of a dragon weaving through the void!
The battle reached its climax: Electric Flash and Thunder roared in entwined cadence, the Earth itself shook and howled, endless sparks erupted through the air, turning the entire space into a Purgatory-like smelting furnace where fate itself was forged!
At last, under the relentless combined onslaught, the ancient root of evil entrenched in the depths began to crumble and dissolve, its inner structures twisting and collapsing, and a dense, shadowy vortex exploded outward with sudden violence!
The Pope screamed, his cry heart-rending and soul-tearing, as his body began to disintegrate with savage convulsions; his once infinitely glorious golden robes dimmed and faded, and in his howls echoed a despair that chilled the bones:
"The gods... the gods will never permit... another... Pseudo-God to arise! You will, in the end... fall into the eternal Abyss!"
Before his voice could fully die away, his whole form fractured and dispersed, leaving only a small Crystal hovering in midair, pulsing faintly with gold-and-violet currents of light—the legendary "Heart of Light" itself!
David walked forward in slow steps, extending both hands toward it. This Crystal contained immense potential for reversing Divinity, an emblem of the Witch Rider Corps’ defiance against evil forces, and the key that would open a new Chapter in the wars yet to come.
His eyes did not waver:
"We have seized hope that truly belongs to us. This war is far from over, but we will not tremble, for our faith has already been forged into steel."
Liya’s gentle voice, like warm sunlight, spread across every face: "This is the dawn purchased with blood and tears. It is our beacon, guiding the lost toward freedom."
Hill replied with austere calm: "The road ahead remains fraught with peril, but so long as we stand united, nothing can halt our stride!"
Cynthia sheathed her icy Longsword, yet still held to vigilant readiness. "Victory is only the beginning. We must always be prepared to confront an even greater tide of darkness."
David sat upon a stone dais, three limpid, flawless Crystals floating lightly between his hands.
The Heart of Shadow, a fusion of dim blue and murky violet, throbbed with a restless, living cadence;
The Heart of Light, its gold and violet hues interwoven, blazing with sacred radiance, periodically flared in violent jets of searing fire;
And the Heart of Life, suffused with emerald verdancy and the rhythm of living things, pulsed in gentle waves, rising and falling like breath.
Yet these three Crystals, embodiments of utterly different powers and entangled destinies, burst with unprecedented mutual rejection in David’s grasp.
His brow furrowed, his features sunk in strain, a reddish haze of pain faintly suffusing his eyes.
Beads of sweat slid from his forehead. He clenched his fists to steady himself, yet felt an invisible great force battering his chest like raging surf, every pulse of his heart booming inside him like thunder detonations.
"They... they cannot coexist..." His voice was low, heavy with repression. "Shadow corrodes Life Energy, while Light burns Chaos... I must endure this irreconcilable tearing!"
In a brief span of moments, golden fissures of blood traced rapidly across his whole body like fine cracks etched into his skin; yet no blood flowed, only a luminous shimmer where life and sacred flame interwove in radiant sparks.
He ground his teeth, forcing himself to suppress the surging, violent Energy within. The agony felt as though it would rip him apart into fragments.
Liliana strode swiftly through the camp, her silver-gray hair cascading over her shoulders, a plain white gown lifted lightly by the night wind.
Her expression was grave and focused, her emerald eyes gleaming with the light of wisdom, as though piercing the Abyss to discern the Mist-veiled future.
"David, if this state continues, you will in the end be torn into nothingness by these three powers." Her voice was calm yet carried the weight of iron. "Only by finding the roots of the World Tree, then condensing and refining them to infuse into your body, can they serve as a mediator to balance their conflict."
At her words, the others converged at once.
Anxiety flickered between Lucia’s brows; she bit gently at her lower lip. "Within the Eternal Forest lies the core of ancient Natural Power. It is the source of the Tree of Life, and the only possible key to easing the instability at the root of your Energy."
Hill’s brow knit tight; his hand closed firm around his sword’s hilt as he slowly nodded. "Time is pressing. We must set out immediately, or the consequences will be unbearable."
Cynthia laid her sheathed sword lightly to the side, her gaze solemn and resolute. "The path ahead remains steeped in danger, but it is our only hope. We cannot hesitate!"
The camp sprang into motion at once, Warriors of every race and Wizards preparing themselves in haste.
Under the wash of moonlight, every face bore a complex interlacing of firm resolve and silent worry.
The air, at the brink of their journey into that ancient forest, was laden with the fresh scent of trees and leaves, and a faint undertone of damp earth and moss.
From afar came, now and then, the howls of wild beasts and the soft chorus of insects, melding into a tranquil symphony, as though heaven and earth themselves held their breath for the new Chapter about to unfold.
The party finally stepped across the threshold of the Eternal Forest. The air there grew at once hushed and weighty; every step fell upon a carpet of soft moss lining the long, winding path, raising minute sounds that were almost swallowed by the murmur of wind and rustling leaves.
