Chapter 1326: Chapter 618: Wailing Shadow of the Demon (Part 2)

He raised his sword and shouted loudly, prompting thirty thousand voices to respond in unison: "For freedom! For the future! For truth!"

The sound was so loud that it seemed to shake the heavens, awakening all who were asleep.

At this moment, it was no longer the cold calculations of the gods, but a true outbreak of mortal will crafting a grand epic!

However, victory was never easily attained, and the path was strewn with thorns.

On the outside of the city walls, enemy sentinels of various kinds could be faintly seen, armed and vigilantly fortified with complex barriers.

Meanwhile, shadow worms lurked in the surroundings, spreading their web-like tendrils as they sought a breach. Those who opposed them had to be fully armed and highly alert, or they would fall into a deadly crisis.

Moreover, sudden dimensional fluctuations regularly occurred on the ravaged earth, and various spatial distortions affected the pace of the war’s progression, making it difficult for participants to predict the situation in the next second...

But none of this could extinguish the spiritual fire burning in the hearts of mortals as they built an indestructible wall of spirit with their flesh and blood.

Crushing and rebuilding the history of past oppressions, they were poised to welcome the dawn of a new era shared by all races!

Chaos fire still burned within David, yet his body felt as if it were being torn and twisted by countless invisible hands, the pain spreading across his brow.

"Boom——!" A series of deafening roars came from deep underground as numerous shadow worms surged like tidal waves to the edges of the final corridor.

These creatures were massive, with bodies as viscous as ink that wriggled, their tendrils weaving a dense dark web that seemed to swallow all life and light.

The corrosive aura they emitted quickly eroded the remaining laws and faith, and wherever they touched within a holy domain, the light faded and vanished.

Within the realm of the Divine Kingdom, numerous believers shouldered the duty of guardianship, yet gradually sank into unprecedented despair.

"Ahhh——!" Piercing cries erupted from the infected, as the souls of the once pious faithful began to twist and mutate.

Their eyes were hollow, their faces distorted, as if they had lost self-awareness, leaving only instinctive reactions to pain and destruction.

Bizarre shadows entwined with eerie blue and red intermingled among their souls, raising their heads in wild howls, staining this holy land with endless nightmares.

This was the "Howling Phantoms," the most terrifying and corrosive mutant monsters formed from souls polluted by the parasitic shadow worms.

Liliana stood at the edge of the Royal Court, her blue-black robe billowing in the wind, flickering with the glow of wisdom like a ghostly blue flame in the twilight.

She furrowed her brow, closed her eyes in concentration, her violet eyes deep as star seas, observing the entire battlefield situation.

When she slowly opened her eyes, a dazzling rune of law burst from her fingertip, shedding a bright silvery-white light like stars across the altar, gradually purifying the areas dense with corrosive miasma.

"Activate——Law Purification Protocol." Her voice was low but unwavering, and a solemn vow echoed through the silent depths of the cosmos.

In an instant, overwhelming hymns erupted within the Royal Court Governance Hall and numerous Holy Halls, and countless silvery-white soul forms consciously converged.

These were the collective wills of a hundred thousand High Tier priests, who willingly abandoned the shackles of their physical forms, voluntarily melting their souls into this purification ceremony to completely dispel the residual pollution.

Their faces were solemn and serene, eyes filled with boundless hope and the resolve to sacrifice for the future.

As they transformed into a pure stream that merged with sky and earth, endless silver ripples surged forth like a vast star river descending upon the world, injecting the final cohesion for a new order teetering on the brink of the abyss.

Yet the cost was extraordinarily dire.

As the purifying power filled the land, numerous loyal followers fell due to the immense spiritual load, some even having their souls shattered and dissipated during the ceremony’s climax.

Their sacrificial exchange created a brief yet indestructible barrier for the final corridor, but also abruptly shrank the realm of the Divine Kingdom by one-third.

Once glorious lands fell, countless towns became ruins, and their inhabitants cried out in sorrow, realizing they were no longer within the range of protection...

David stood at the center of the altar, gripping his great halberd, feeling his divine power violently trembling, as the intense chaos flame seemed close to being extinguished by the surging tide of filth.

Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, yet he gritted his teeth to bear the intense bodily pain, with blood continuously oozing from the corners of his eyes, each drop falling to the ground, shining in contrast with the embers of battle.

This blood was not only a physical wound but also a symbol of his will, representing his determination to protect the new order at any cost!

"I... will not fall!" he murmured resolutely, "This land, this new world, and the future of all species... cannot be destroyed because of my weakness!"

His voice cut through the smoke and dust and was heard by the guardians, etched into every corner of the heavens and realms.

This was a low roar, a life declaration erupting before the crimson flame reached its limit!

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the final corridor, the Howling Phantoms continued to ravage the Defense Barrier, their sharp screeches piercing the air. Each impact sent waves of ripples, causing the already tattered Earth Barrier, mended repeatedly by Lucia’s gentle magic web, to flicker with cracks.

Lucia’s forehead was slightly sweating, her hands trembling as she repeatedly chanted incantations, using every last ounce of strength to dispel the decaying gloom.

Yet against the overwhelming and continuous assault of the enemy, she clearly felt her limitations, only able to re-actuate the remnant runes to patch up the fractured protective layers once more...

Cynthia gripped her sword hilt tightly, her entire silver-blue cloak swaying vigorously with the rhythm of battle, her icy violet eyes like blades of ice, glaring at wave after wave of shadow worms about to break through the defense line.

One sword swung down, fragmenting the tendrils that emerged;

Another sword danced, slicing through the void, buying precious breathing time for her allies.

Yet even so, this seemingly indestructible frontline had already crumbled in many places, presenting danger that left everyone holding their breath for the next sudden change...

Hill stood before the collapsed city gate, his silver-white armor scarred but still standing tall and firm.

"This is our last line of defense." He said in a deep voice, "No matter what, we cannot let the enemy take a step past!"

Before he finished speaking, a powerful impact hit, and a swarm of Howling Phantoms surrounded the area. Companions wielded their weapons to meet the attack but struggled against the overwhelming numbers.

The scent of blood mingled with smoke filling the air, almost solidifying it, as people screamed and fell, some holding on to the last moment, while others with tears in their eyes silently prayed for life to endure...

David stood at the center of the altar, enveloped by intense chaotic flames, the fire dancing like a living creature, while a calm and determined light shone in his eyes.

His hands gripped the great halberd spanning across his chest, forged from fragments of the war deity’s authority, the critical tool for reversing the situation and guarding the final corridor as the last hope.

With a low, cold roar, the power of chaos and order within him intertwined and fused, a red-gold halo quietly formed, slowly rising above the altar like a blazing star.

This was the "War Ring" he manifested using the powers of war authority.

The War Ring shimmered with furnace-like blazing flames and battle runes, each rune containing ancient laws of war, its power ripple warping and distorting the space around it.

The radiant glow, like sunshine, swept away all surrounding dark and decaying miasma, infusing the guardians with fearless courage and boundless energy.

Just then, a black ghostly shadow rose slowly from beside the altar, the soul of a necromantic knight, awakening from its ancient lineage and leftover will after being sealed in old battle armor.

Clad in red-golden battle armor, they shone brilliantly under the blazing sun, integrating mysterious ancient powers into every cell of their bodies.
