Chapter 417 - 172: The Abundant Resources of the Otherworld

Chapter 417: Chapter 172: The Abundant Resources of the Otherworld

On the sea.

A simple bamboo raft rides the wind and waves.

At the front of the raft, David wears a hooded robe, concealing his aura.

Behind him stand three Tier Seven Black Mages, their expressions respectful.

David’s expression is somber.

Originally, he thought pirates would surely have hidden treasures.

But the final outcome was that all three were destitute, managing to gather only ten magic crystals, poorer than even the average low-tier wizard apprentices.

No choice; these Black Mages, after plundering everything, would first exchange their loot for resources to enhance their strength.

For Black Mages, every day is fraught with danger, and only by quickly increasing their power can they survive on this vast sea.

Yet from the mouths of these Black Mages, David learned the location of a market, and now he is heading there to trade.

Soon, the outline of an island appears before him.

Lonely Whale Market.

This is a Wizard Market located on Lonely Whale Island.

Within the market, various forces intertwine, law and order are lax.

Originally, some wandering mages spontaneously formed this market to exchange various resources.

Later, a wandering mage managed to break through to the First Ring and established the Lonely Whale Market as a base.

Thus, this is a renowned area beyond control, where both White Wizards and Black Mages appear at this free market.

As long as you don’t breach the rules set by the market’s owner, no one will ask for your identity, making it a place where many Black Mages sell their stolen goods.

David stops far out in the sea; this time, he doesn’t plan to personally go ashore, instead attaching his spiritual power to a Black Mage servant.

Then, he controls a Tier Seven Black Mage named Merck to approach Lonely Whale Island and swiftly step into Lonely Whale Market.

He immediately senses the air filled with the strange scent and energy waves emitted by various magic items.

In the center of the market is a massive circular plaza, surrounded by various stalls and shops.

The stall owners come from different wizard organizations; there are White Wizards as well as Black Mages, some dressed in luxurious robes, others appearing mysterious and enigmatic.

Some stall owners even have their faces obscured by magic, rendering them unrecognizable.

Here, everything related to wizards can be found, from rare herbs, ancient scrolls, to mysterious magic pets and forbidden witch artifacts.

The methods of transaction are diverse; besides gold coins, you can also exchange using magic knowledge, secret intelligence, or even soul contracts.

There are no fixed managers in the market, only a few powerful mages secretly maintaining order.

They won’t interfere in normal trades, but if anyone causes trouble, they will use strong magic to subdue them without hesitation.

David navigates through such an environment, using his extraordinary perception to vigilantly observe his surroundings, aware that a single misstep could lead to danger here.

Soon.

He finds some materials for crafting Azure Potions.

The basic materials for this potion are not difficult to find and are inexpensive, requiring just one magic crystal to buy all the ingredients for potion-making.

David stops at a stall selling potion materials; he merely mentions Azure Potion, and the stall owner immediately helps him gather the materials.

"How many sets of Azure Potion materials do you have here?" David asks.

The stall owner glances unexpectedly at the wizard before him, wearing a hooded robe and with his face tightly covered, responding solemnly, "I have twenty sets."

"Great, I’ll take them all."

David says, "But the price has to be cheaper."

A flicker of greed flashes in the stall owner’s eyes but is quickly concealed.

However, this subtle emotional change doesn’t escape David, who possesses the telepathy talent, making his eyes show contemplation.

Through extraordinary perception, he assesses that the stall owner’s strength is also Tier Seven, though he’s unsure if there are other accomplices behind the stall owner.

They begin bargaining, eventually settling on a price of eighteen magic crystals for twenty sets of materials needed for making Azure Potions.

"Do you have potion formulas here?" David continues.

"Of course." The stall owner nods.

The stall owner retrieves a sheet of paper from his pocket, densely packed with names of various potion formulas, including the Azure Potion.

Compared to the Azure Potion in Eto Bay’s Library Pavilion, this also mentions the Concentration Azure Potion.

This is the upgraded version of the Azure Potion, beneficial for the cultivation of those at the official wizard level.

David directly asks, "What’s the price for the Concentration Azure Potion formula?"

The stall owner smiles faintly, holding up three fingers: "Fifty magic crystals."

David frowns, as the price is indeed not low.

Yet he knows that potion formulas are scarce resources in the market, especially those potent high-tier potions.

In addition, he senses the greed emanating from the stall owner and, considering for a moment, finally decides to purchase, "Alright, fifty magic crystals."

David takes out the magic crystals from his bosom and hands them to the stall owner.

The stall owner takes the magic crystals, keeping his face calm while his inner greed intensifies.

He warns, "Remember, when crafting the Concentration Azure Potion, the heat and proportion of the materials are crucial; a slight error could lead to failure."

David nods, indicating his understanding.

He stores the formula and materials, then immediately turns to leave.

Later, within his extraordinary perception, he discovers someone is tracking him, evidently that the stall owner has developed greed for him.
