Chapter 558 - 234: Seeking the Witch
Chapter 558: Chapter 234: Seeking the Witch
And the people around instantly fell into panic, they looked around but couldn’t see the enemy hidden in the forest.
"Can’t find him!"
A man in black exclaimed in panic as they began searching frantically.
David sneered inwardly, it was precisely this panic that exposed them.
He once again activated the Ice Element Mark, sliding swiftly across the ground with minimal sound.
The surrounding air instantly became bone-chilling cold, and those crystals infused with Ice Elemental Power gradually condensed into a second Ice Arrow.
In that fleeting moment, he used Extraordinary Perception to lock onto another target, a Black Mage preparing to attack the trapped Wizard.
"Frost from Heaven!"
He chanted quietly, pouring his consciousness into the arrow.
With a crisp sound of breaking through the air, the Ice Arrow shot out like an arrow off the string.
"Ah!"
This time the target was a burly Black Mage with a fierce expression.
He had no time to react and was hit, falling down in agony.
At that moment, the surrounding people were completely panicked, they began fleeing disorderly, and those hostages stared in terror, unsure of how to react.
David seized the opportunity to activate the Spatial Mark, disappearing from place.
The Spatial Mark combined with Stealth Talent turned him into a terrifying Hunter, starting his hunt.
The Black Mage reacted but it was too late, he started casting spells, and David was already approaching.
He used agile body techniques to sidestep the dangerous Shadow Fireball, while striking out with his palm, pushing it towards the trees, letting the fireball dissolve into a phantom.
"Icebound Ten Thousand Miles!"
But in that instant, an invisible force transformed into a powerful cold current sweeping across, freezing the surrounding environment into an Ice and Snow World in a heartbeat.
Those trying to escape or fight back became sluggish and stiff under this force, with nowhere to retreat, helplessly watching themselves being sealed by ice!
Instantly, the whole world became quiet.
David looked at the figures encased in ice and began activating the Spirit Contract Mark.
Next, he needed these Black Mages to lead him into the slave organization headquarters.
David patrolled around the ice-frozen Black Mages, ensuring he missed no enemies before carefully checking the trapped hostages.
Fear and unease were etched on their faces, but upon seeing David’s resolute and calm eyes, a glimmer of hope seemed ignited within them.
Only now did those trapped hostages realize the danger had been lifted.
Someone couldn’t help bursting into tears, while more just stared blankly, unable to believe what had happened.
Among them, a witch gathered courage and boldly shouted, "Are you... are you a Demon Hunter?"
"Indeed, I will save you." David came back to his senses.
With his voice, the victims exhibited faces of joy and nodded one after another.
David quickly untied their restraints and guided them towards a safe direction, letting them leave first.
After everyone nodded in understanding, David turned and walked towards the Black Mage side.
He then used the Spirit Contract to control these Black Mages.
After a moment’s thought, he used the Spirit Contract to browse the Black Mage’s memory.
A vague image slowly emerged, depicting a dark, damp grand hall, surrounded by cold, inhumane transaction scenes.
"Looks like I found the right place." David thought silently.
These innocent people had been sold and deprived of freedom, all displayed before him.
Then, David reactivated the Stealth Talent, cautiously sneaking towards the direction of the grand hall he just saw.
During this process, he remained vigilant, guarding against attacks from other hidden enemies.
Soon he successfully reached a hidden path, seemingly leading directly to that headquarters.
Exiting the dark path, a giant wooden door came into view, engraved with ancient runes and dark engravings, exuding authority and oppression.
Through the gap of the door, whispers and occasional cries of despair could be heard faintly from inside, demanding mercy.
"This is a cruel but necessary choice."
David took a deep breath, placing his hand on the door handle.
Accompanied by a heavy and discomforting creaking sound from the wooden door.
Upon opening, a dim, humid, foul-smelling grand hall came into his sight.
Here, humans and demons of various kinds intertwined.
Yet most striking were the few arrogant and sinister Black Witches,
They were commanding a group of timid, utterly defenseless hostages, forcing them into various trades and sales.
Just then, a lavishly dressed person with a wicked smile approached, a Three-Ring Witch looking imposing.
"Look, we’ve got new toys!"
Her lips curled into a bizarre smile, like a hunter on a hunting ground.
"Bring them all over! We need to prepare for the new transaction scheduled for tonight!"
Upon hearing this, the victims instantly became even more terrified, while her numerous subordinates rushed towards those utterly defenseless, shivering people.
David’s gaze swept through the hall quickly, attempting to identify the victims’ faces.
Amid his tense mood, suddenly a familiar figure caught his eye.
It was Nicole, she was tied to a pillar, pale-faced, looking dejected, yet he could still see a hint of defiance in her firm, beautiful eyes.
"Nicole!" David’s heart tightened.
He quickly focused his attention, avoiding making any sound to prevent exposing his whereabouts.
He glanced around and discovered there were several Relic Hunters with whom he once collaborated, also held captive here.
Each had faces marked with fear and despair, but these hunters were once powerful wizards, now reduced to this.
"Looks like it’s time to act!" David murmured quietly.
He knew he had to take action but could not alert those around.
Just then, that Three-Ring Witch loudly commanded again, "Quick! Drag these useless hostages to the altar! Tonight we have a major transaction!"
Hearing this, David’s anger flared up.
He knew that if no action was taken soon, these innocents would be sold off, never to be rescued.
However, his adversary was a Three-Ring Witch, without activating the Bloodline Mage power, defeating her was far from easy.
Furthermore, the quantity of Black Mages here was overwhelming, possessing a strong force hidden in secrecy.
If surrounded, aside from escaping with the Spatial Mark, there was no way to face so many enemies on their turf.
Thus, he utilized the Stealth Talent, continuing to stealthily approach Nicole and the other Relic Hunters’ locations.
As the distance closed, he felt the surrounding tension and chaos intensifying, those in black were extremely busy preparing for the transaction, while the Three-Ring Witch confidently arranged everything.
However, at that moment, she suddenly turned around, scanning the surroundings with sharp, penetrating eyes.
"Huh? Why do I sense something restless lurking in the shadows?"
In that moment, David’s heart jolted, realizing his Stealth Talent was under threat.
Without hesitation, he transformed the magic power in his hand into an Ice Arrow, whispering, "Icebound Ten Thousand Miles!"
With his roar, the ice arrow shot out like lightning, carving a path of cold in the air.
A cold current accompanied by a piercing sound of breaking through swept in, like a blizzard engulfing, sealing it.
"Ah!"
The Three-Ring Witch screamed in pain.
She tried to struggle, but found her body had become incredibly rigid due to the Ice Power.
"Who are you?" She asked in a sharp yet slightly fearful voice.
"You shall pay for what you’ve done." David answered coldly, charging at those Black Mages and Black Witches.
None in the hall expected an outsider to attack, and chaos and panic ensued.
Utilizing the chaos, David quickly approached Nako’s location and began untying the ropes that bound her and the other Relic Hunters.
