Chapter 1313 - 523: Answering a Question with a Question

Chapter 1313: Chapter 523: Answering a Question with a Question

On the third day after the Protective Talisman incident, Lira sought out Ron of her own accord.

The changes in this Three-eyed Race half-blood girl surprised even herself.

"Master, I’ve discovered that my third eye... seems to have undergone some wondrous transformation."

She excitedly reported her latest findings to Ron:

"Previously, I could only perceive the emotional fluctuations of the present, but now, I can ’see’ deeper things."

"Such as?" Ron put down the lesson plan in his hands and looked at her intently.

"Such as this table."

Lira pointed to the oak desk in front of Ron, and the third eye on her forehead slowly opened:

"I can see the craftsman’s focus while polishing it, feel the pain of the wood being chopped, and even perceive every spring, summer, autumn, and winter the tree experienced during its growth."

Her voice carried a tremor that was almost reverent:

"These are ’traces of history,’ aren’t they? Just as you mentioned before."

Ron’s heart stirred.

The Awakening of this ability occurred much more swiftly than he anticipated.

"Lira, would you be willing to try a more in-depth exercise?"

He took a simple silver coin from his Storage Bag and placed it on the table:

"Try to tell me what this coin has experienced."

Lira carefully focused her attention on the silver coin.

The silver light from her third eye became brighter, as if adjusting some invisible "focus."

"I see... a miner’s hands, rough and powerful. He is mining silver ore in a dark cave..."

Her voice became distant, as if she were in another time and space:

"Then a workshop, flames, the sound of hammering, sweat... When the silver coin was minted, the craftsman’s mood was calm, but there was also a trace of fatigue."

"Next, I saw a Merchant who used this silver coin to buy a bouquet of flowers for the woman he loved. That joy remains on the coin to this day..."

Ron nodded in satisfaction.

"Very impressive, Lira.

Once your Spiritual Power reaches the required values, you’ll be able to grasp the basics of Historical Research."

He retrieved the silver coin:

"But remember, this ability must be used with caution. Some histories carry pain and trauma, and delving too deep may harm your Spirit."

"I understand, Master." Lira nodded earnestly: "I will be careful."

"Then, we can start some more systematic training next..."

......

On the other hand, though he’s been teaching students recently, Ron hasn’t neglected his own Cultivation.

That night, he sat alone in the small kitchen of the college dormitory, with "Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide" in front of him.

He wanted to start the cooking training of "Multi-element Soup" again but found that Green Ring No.2 didn’t have completely corresponding four Element ingredients.

Scorching Mushrooms, Deep Sea Kelp, Alpine Mint Leaves, Stone Carrots...

These specialties of the Main World simply don’t exist in the Exotic Colony.

"It seems I need to seek some guidance."

Ron gently caressed the cover of the "Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide":

"Do you have any suggestions on ingredient substitution?"

The pages began to turn automatically, finally stopping on a blank page.

But this time, there was no direct answer; instead, an illustration in fairy-tale style slowly appeared.

In the picture, a little mouse wearing a chef’s hat was standing in front of a giant pantry, surrounded by various strange ingredients.

But the little mouse looked confused.

Because the recipe in its hand said "requires golden cheese," while the pantry had only various colored fruits, vegetables, and grains.

"Once upon a time, there was a little mouse named Jerry, who aspired to be a great chef."

The "Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide" began to tell a new allegory:

"It obtained an ancient recipe, documenting the method to make ’perfect cheesecake.’

But the recipe required ’golden cheese,’ ’silver flour,’ ’copper eggs,’ and ’iron butter.’

The illustration started to move, the little mouse anxiously rummaging through the pantry:

"Jerry searched through the entire pantry but couldn’t find any of the specified ingredients.

It began to doubt whether these magical ingredients existed in this world at all?"

"Just as it was about to give up, a wise old cat appeared."

In the illustration, a blue short-haired cat wearing glasses sauntered over to the little mouse:

"’Child, what are you looking for?’ the old cat asked.

’I need golden cheese, but there’s only white.’ The little mouse replied dejectedly.

’Then, tell me, what does golden signify?’ the old cat questioned.

’Uh... nobility? warmth? Or... maturity?’ the little mouse answered uncertainly."

The illustrated old cat nodded:

"’Very well, then what else do you think can embody these qualities besides cheese?’"

The little mouse started to reassess the ingredients it had overlooked in the pantry:

"A ripe kumquat, exuding a warm fragrance, its surface gleaming like gold;

A bottle of aged honey, thick and sweet, with a color as noble as amber;

Even a handful of roasted oats, golden and plump, full of the maturity of the earth..."

"It turned out ’golden cheese’ didn’t refer to a specific type of cheese but to all ingredients with ’golden qualities’!"

The little mouse had an epiphany and began to re-examine everything in the pantry with renewed perspective.

In the final illustration, the little mouse successfully made the perfect cake.

But the ingredients it used were entirely different from those described in the recipe, yet they emitted the same alluring aroma.
