Chapter 505: Chapter 262: New Star (Part 2)
If he could join this project, not only could he obtain more first-hand information and rare materials about the Abyss, but he might also directly access the level of a Great Wizard.
Ron walked slowly to the third floor, preparing to organize some necessary materials and proofs to display his qualifications and abilities at the reception.
In his mind, a path to a higher realm was gradually becoming clearer:
Using the Crystal Spire as a platform to accumulate resources and knowledge, and seizing the opportunity of the Abyssal Observation Station to acquire more first-hand information about Abyssal Material.
......
The young wizard followed the receptionist through a winding crystal corridor, where the air was filled with a peculiar energy fluctuation, more intense and purer than those in Dawn Harbor.
"This is the ’New Star Reception,’ responsible for evaluating all the extraordinary individuals coming to the Central Lands, especially those wizards with special talent or potential."
The receptionist explained, a suitable smile always maintained on the young face:
"Cassandra Tower Master specifically instructed to arrange the most comprehensive assessment for you, personally hosted by three reviewers from the School Alliance."
Ron’s heart stirred slightly.
To have the Tower Master of the Crystal Spire personally pay attention, and mobilize members of the School Alliance, it seems this identity of a ’Primordial Wizard’ is indeed more precious than imagined.
"It is said that you are the first Primordial Wizard in the past one hundred and fifty-seven years to ascend through the Path of Truth."
The receptionist lowered his voice, eyes flickering with indescribable awe:
"Before you, the last one who walked this path was Cassandra Tower Master herself."
At the end of the corridor was a massive silver archway, embossed with intricate runes.
The runes were not static decorations but flowed and changed on the door’s surface, forming various complex magical matrices, emitting a gentle cyan-white glow.
In front of the archway stood two guards in moon-white robes, wearing the badge of the Crystal Spire on their chests, their gazes sharp as knives, exuding energy fluctuations close to those of an Official Wizard.
Seeing Ron’s Wizard Badge, the two immediately performed a standard wizard’s salute.
Then they lightly touched the door, causing the flowing runes to rearrange and form a new opening sequence.
The archway slid open silently, revealing a spacious circular hall inside.
The entire hall was hemispherical, made of some sort of translucent crystal.
At the top was a delicate astrological instrument, continuously rotating and changing, projecting images of the starry sky visible from the Ring Abyss Continent Group.
The center of the hall was a complex multi-layered magic array, intricately interconnected, with a platform about four meters in diameter in the center, its surface shimmering with a pale blue glow.
Around the platform stood three wizards in robes of different colors—azure, dark purple, and gray-silver, each color representing a specific faction within the School Alliance.
"Wizard Ralph has arrived."
The receptionist bowed to the three reviewers and then stepped aside.
The female wizard in the azure robe stepped forward.
She was a middle-aged woman with a pleasing appearance, her deep brown hair styled into a bun, and her amber eyes shining with intelligence.
"Welcome to the Central Lands, Wizard Ralph."
Her voice was as clear and pleasant as flowing water:
"I am Melissa Albert, and this is William West."
She pointed to the bald old man in the gray-silver robe: "And that is Ivan Petrov."
The old man in the gray-silver robe and the middle-aged man in the dark purple robe both nodded in greeting.
"Considering your application to join the Crystal Tower, we will conduct the Crystal Tower’s standard evaluation for you."
Melissa continued, her voice calm and professional:
"The evaluation will include magic power, control precision, spell expansibility, and multidisciplinary comprehensive ability.
This is not an exam, but a way for us to better understand your range of abilities so that we can provide the most suitable resources and guidance for you."
Ron nodded slightly: "A very reasonable arrangement."
He looked around, taking note of every detail in the hall.
The slightly flickering runes on the walls, the energy patterns flowing on the ground, even the almost imperceptible magic detectors in the air.
These were all standard protective and monitoring measures of the Crystal Spire, both to ensure the fairness of the test and to protect the safety of everyone present.
Ron quickly weighed the pros and cons in his mind.
Since stepping into Dawn Harbor, he had been contemplating a crucial question.
In this brand-new environment, how much strength should he display?
Lady Allen and Hayek’s warnings were still fresh in his mind, but after careful consideration, he ultimately made his decision.
In such a formal evaluation, hiding one’s skills excessively would be an unwise move.
Firstly, as a Primordial Wizard, many of his traits were inherently difficult to fully conceal;
Secondly, the Witch King’s decree and the rules of grace provided him with a considerable degree of protection, alleviating concerns of being forcibly controlled;
Thirdly, only by demonstrating sufficient talent and capability could he acquire resources and opportunities that match his abilities.
Of course, this didn’t mean he would reveal everything without reservation.
Certain core trump cards, such as the Dual Soul, Stand-In Puppet, Pocket Watch, and other unique artifacts and glorious legacies, as well as the essence of his capabilities, would remain secrets he would cautiously guard.
"Shall we begin?" Ron asked, his voice carrying a confident indifference.
"Certainly." Melissa gestured invitingly: "Please step onto the central platform."
