This is my current status.
The key point is this unique skill.
Skill──────────────────
Holy Knight’s Oath 2
S.Lv1: Every time you save another person’s life, the level or skill of one of your skills will increase by 1. However, that skill itself will not be selected as a target for the skill increase.
S.Lv2: Every time you save someone else’s life 100 times, some skills with high acquisition difficulty will become available.
Ability Stat Correction:
The owner of “Knight’s Oath” will always receive the following corrections to each ability stat.
HP +90
Attack Power +20
Defense +50
Mental Strength +40
─────────────────────
My unique skill, Holy Knight’s Oath, is a typical level-up skill.
It’s a pretty powerful growth skill that allows you to level up without gaining experience points as long as you meet certain conditions.
In addition to leveling up, it’s also a skill that increases your skill level.
Each time your skill level increases by one, the amount of experience points required for the next level increase is quadrupled.
Therefore, the higher your skill level, the greater the benefit of Holy Knight’s Oath.
It’s also important to remember that when you acquire a skill, you receive a bonus to your stats equal to the amount of SP you spent to acquire it.
If you acquire a skill using the Holy Knight’s Oath, you’ll still get the stat bonus, so you can actually increase your stats while saving SP.
What’s more, the level 2 effect of the Holy Knight’s Oath skill, “Some high-acquisition skills become available,” is also important.
There are several skills I’ve obtained thanks to this effect,
Skill──────────────────
Holy Sword Technique 5
A holy sword that cuts through all forms of defense. A pseudo-magical sword technique system. Most techniques have a holy attribute.
All sword-based attacks gain the Pierce Defense effect, which ignores the target’s defense.
Attack power against red names is increased by S.Lv x 20%.
────────────────────
I think this is the one I use the most.
However, I didn’t get a chance to use it this time.
In terms of defense,
Skill──────────────────
Protective Shield 5
When there are others to protect, defense increases by S.Lv x 10%, and resistance to all status effects increases by S.Lv x 15%.
────────────────────
Skill──────────────────
Fairy Shield 4
Reduces magic damage taken by S.Lv x 5% and has a 10% chance to negate additional status effects.
────────────────────
These two are quite useful.
Of course, they pale in comparison to Yuto’s all-purpose status effect resist accessory (“Prayer Earring”), but you can make up for it by equipping the right gear for the dungeon.
So far, I’ve been steadily increasing my level by helping people as an inspector and cooperating with the police.
Yuto says things like, “How can you risk your life to help others?” but I’m not that naive.
There’s also the fact that I can accept such work because it comes with real benefits.
Other explorers don’t want to help the Association’s inspectors or the police because it takes them away from their real job, which is exploring dungeons.
Aside from the negative impact on their income, there are also significant disadvantages in terms of making it harder to level up.
In this respect, with the Holy Knight Oath, I can level up more efficiently by helping people than by exploring dungeons.
Well, even if I didn’t have the Holy Knight’s Oath, I don’t think I would have abandoned people in need, and if I was asked to be an inspector, I think I would have accepted the job.
In general, I think that Yuto is the one who would risk his life to save someone.
Yuto is the type of person who, if he saw someone drowning, would jump into the water without thinking twice to try to save them.
I’m the type who would throw a life buoy from the shore after making sure I was safe.
Whether Yuto is too reckless or I’m just more level-headed than him depends on how you look at it.
Unless you compare me to Yuto, I have quite a few skills among the explorers.
I have a lot of skills, and the level of each skill is quite high.
Thanks to the Holy Knight’s Oath, it’s easy to increase the level of my skills, and I can also use the SP I gain to learn other skills.
If the level of all the skills I have when I activate the Holy Knight’s Oath is maxed out at 5, then the effect of the Oath might be wasted.
On the other hand, I don’t want to end up in a situation where I’ve increased the level of common skills with low SP acquisition values but have failed to increase the level of powerful skills with high costs.
It’s hard to get the balance right in this area, but I think the rule of thumb is that if you save up the hard-to-acquire skills that are released at skill level 2 of Holy Knight’s Oath, you’re unlikely to go wrong.
There are quite a few of these skills that even Yuto hasn’t gotten yet, so I want to continue to give them priority in the future.
Also, the reason I’m taking the ability enhancing skills that not many people take is because Yuto taught me about the special conditions.
If you max out two ability-enhancing skills, you’ll get a powerful skill based on the combination you choose.
I’m going for Absolute Defense (a combination of HP Enhancement and Defense Enhancement), Solid Barrier (MP and Defense), and Astral Survival (HP and Mental Strength).
I’m going to level them up to level 3 normally, since they don’t cost much SP, and after that I’m going to rely on Holy Knight’s Oath.
Even so, I think only Yuto would be able to thoroughly check the combination bonuses of unpopular ability-enhancing skills, even in a world as big as this one.
Normally, it’s quite difficult to raise a single skill to level 5…
There are also ‘losers’ in this combination, so thanks to Yuto’s research, I’m able to make things much easier for myself.
By the way, the order in which the stats are displayed and the way they are sorted was recently reorganized based on the way Yuuto does it―or rather, based on what I learned from him.
As you’d expect from someone with such powerful skills as a demon, Yuto’s method of organization is very precise.
While I was thinking about this while handcuffing the unconscious Zatsudo, a blue light in the Enemy Search screen caught my attention.
It approached at an incredible speed and then jumped into the room.
“Serika! Are you okay?!”
Of course, it was Yuto who had jumped in… but wasn’t he moving a little too fast?
As usual, common sense didn’t seem to apply to Yuto.
Well, I’m still a little happy that he came so quickly.
