Chapter 61 – Did You Have Fun Last Night?

The next day.

I was alone on the bus on the mountain road.

“Last night was hard…”

After Serika got drunk and passed out in the restaurant.

I paid the restaurant bill, picked up Serika, and carried her to the hotel room she had reserved.

I would have had a hard time carrying a person in my arms before, but now that I’m an enhanced explorer, I don’t have a problem with it.

What was more difficult was the feeling of Serika’s body, which had become warm and soft and smelled good after she had gotten drunk.

I am also a man, so it was hard for me to bear in many ways.

Also, the warm and fuzzy looks I got from the people around me.

By the way, I put my shopping bag, the fruit of my lunchtime shopping spree, in the item box so I wouldn’t forget it.

I didn’t put it in the item box during the date because I thought it was tactful, but it was difficult to carry a large paper bag with Serika in my arms. I don’t have enough hands for that.

Serika had taken a room that looked quite expensive.

It would be a waste for her to spend this room in a drunken stupor and fall asleep, but it would be awkward to force her to wake up.

Of course, there was nothing Serika could do about it, so…

I started the morning on the sofa in the room.

Serika probably wouldn’t be upset if I slept with her in the double bed, but I would want to talk to her about it when she was in her right mind.

It wasn’t like I would lose my mind if we slept in the same bed or anything…

I wanted to wait until Serika woke up, but she didn’t.

As I wait in the living room, drinking coffee, I realize that if Serika wakes up and remembers what happened last night, she will die of embarrassment.

It would definitely be embarrassing.

Should I just say, “Good morning, Serika. It’s a beautiful morning.”

Or should I leave a note and leave her alone?

While I was thinking about it, Serika woke up.

“Huh? Where am I?”

Serika mumbled while rubbing her eyes.

Now that she was awake, there was only one possibility.

“Good morning, Serika.”

“Oh yes, good morning… Why is Yu-kun here? I mean, where are we?”

Serika said, fixing her messy clothes and hair.

“Where, you say? This is the room Serika reserved, you know?”

“Y-you mean the hotel room?”

“Yes.”

“Eh, then you don’t mean…!”

Serika turns over the futon and checks her body.

“N-no! I didn’t do anything!”

“I-it looks like…”

“Do you have any memories?”

“Well… I remember drinking wine in a restaurant and having a good time…”

“What was the story?”

“Oh, I remember. Don’t tell me that after that…”

“Serika just fell asleep. I brought you to this room.”

“W-whoaaa! I’m so sorry! I was just in a good mood!”

“Don’t say it yourself.”

Well, it was a good mood.

He smiled bitterly at Serika, who was flushed and fidgeting,

“I’ll make you some coffee.”

With that, I left the bedroom and went back to the living room.

The room seemed quite nice, with a living room and kitchen separate from the bedroom.

I returned to the bed with the coffee I had brewed just as Serika was getting ready.

“T-thanks… sorry about yesterday?”

“I don’t mind.”

“Y-yes. But what I said wasn’t because I was drunk or anything, you know?”

“I know.”

While I was wondering how to answer, Serika’s phone on the bedside table started to ring.

“Ah, it’s Hisui-chan. I’ll answer it.”

Serika picked up her phone.

“Yeah, yeah. Alright. I’ll be back as soon as possible. Oh, wait a minute.”

Serika took her mouth off the phone,

“I think I need to get back.”

“What’s going on?”

“There was a flood in an A-rank dungeon in Tokyo.”

“Again? Does it happen that often?”

“That can’t be true. Hisui-chan said it was probably the aftermath of the cascade.”

“Do you want me to come with you?”

“No, I think there are enough people. I’ll come back for command and support.”

Serika returns to the phone.

“Eh? No, no, no, no! Nothing!”

Serika quickly denies something.

“I-I’m telling you the truth! It’s because I’m with Yuto, but… nothing, nothing happened!”

Serika waved her hands in the air as if she could see Haitani-san right in front of her.

“What? Why do you want him to take over? Geez, I get it now. Yuto, Hisui-chan wants to talk to you for a moment.”

“With me?”

“Yes.”

I took Serika’s phone.

“Good morning, Kurashiki-san.”

“Oh, good morning.”

“You had fun last night, didn’t you?”

“You just wanted to say that, didn’t you?”

“How was it, actually? How did you feel munching on Serika-san’s ample breasts?”

“I didn’t munch on them! Nothing really happened!”

“That’s the problem, isn’t it? Even though our master mustered up the courage to ask you out, you didn’t even make a move on her… What do you think a maiden’s heart is like?”

“I had no choice.”

The fact that she got drunk and passed out on her own will be kept secret for the sake of the guild master’s honor.

“Hah, I’m horrified. The perfect plan I came up with has been ruined.”

“I knew it was your idea.”

“It wouldn’t have happened without me. Kurashiki-san and Serika-san are both mature men and women. Why don’t you just have an honest relationship with each other?”

“Is that all you wanted to talk about?”

“No, just one more thing.”

“What is it?”

“You’re both adults, so please feel free to have a relationship… but I would like to say this anyway. Kurashiki-san, if you make Serika-san cry, I will never forgive you. Please consider all members of the Paladin Knights as your enemy.”

“I-I know.”

“Really?”

“I think it’s because you care about her that it’s taking so long.”

“That’s just an excuse to justify Kurashiki-san’s sloppiness. If you want to cherish her, you have to make sure you keep it together. Isn’t that what adult love is all about?”

“You have to be a master of love, Haitani-san.”

“T-That’s not true either, but… Kurashiki-san, that was sexual harassment, wasn’t it?”

“No, because it’s much more than that, Haitani-san!”

“Well, if you’ll excuse me. I’m not busy here either. If you’re not planning on having fun in the morning, please return Serika-san as soon as possible, okay?”

“You’re being kind of hard on me, aren’t you?”

“It’s probably just your imagination, Kurashiki-san. I can’t help but get frustrated when I think that someone other than me can do whatever they want to Serika-san’s well-proportioned body. I was really disappointed to hear that your relationship hasn’t progressed, even though I haven’t had enough sleep to plan it all!”

“Do you support me or not?”

“I support you. I support you because it is for Serika-san’s sake. It is pure love, so to speak. It is because I love her that I step aside and imagine Serika-san being embraced by the man she loves. That feeling of having your heart torn out of your chest is wonderful. And yet, to have been so well set up and not yet made a move…can you give me back my pounding heart?”

“What a deep karmic inclination you had…”

I want Haitani-san, who seemed so wise and capable until yesterday, back.

…Anyway, without being able to have a very deep conversation about such things, Serika went back to the Explorers’ Association.

We were both so shy that I doubt we could have talked properly even if we had had the time.
