Chapter 373: Punishment
Chapter 373: Chapter 373: Punishment
"Then what does it ask for?" Ivy asked in a curious voice.
If not zombie crystals, then does it ask for Kbs just like her temporal storage?
Silas saw Ivy’s curious look and smiled. His pink squirrel looks so adorable and kissable.
His eyes started to Ivy’s plump lips that were tempting him to take a bite and know just how juicy they were.
Slowly he started to lean towards them; his intent was fairly visible in his eyes.
Ivy felt her heart trembling under the intense gaze of Silas. Why was he even looking at her like he wanted to devour her?
Why can’t he focus on important topics?
Taking a deep breath, she suppressed the raw lust coursing under her skin and placed her hand on his chest to stop him from leaning any more.
"I am curious! Reply to me first!" Ivy whined softly. Her words didn’t diminish the lust in his eyes even a bit; instead, the hunger intensified, and he replied in a hoarse voice.
"I am curious too. How do your lips taste now?" Silas’s words made Ivy blush furiously, and she slapped him on his chest lightly.
"Be serious, otherwise I will ignore you. That’s a warning, and if you refuse to listen, what will follow is punishment." Ivy warned, her big round eyes glaring at Silas with threat.
Silas narrowed his eyes. What do... His pink squirrel was looking too cute.
He didn’t want the punishment, but he wants her.
Suddenly he thought about the incident of her fainting, and his eyes glimmered.
"Sure. I will gladly accept your punishment." Silas’s calm words made Ivy have a bad feeling in her stomach.
Sure enough the next second Silas’s hand started to roam around her neck and he continued,
"But what about you?"
"Mine? What did I do?" Ivy asked in a baffled voice. However, her inner voice was screaming at her that she was done for.
Her scheming boyfriend is going to show his fox tail for sure.
"You didn’t take care of yourself properly," Silas murmured in a low, controlled voice, the gentleness of his tone completely at odds with the storm brewing in his eyes. "And you ended up fainting. Do you know how scared I was?"
Ivy stiffened, heat crawling across her cheeks. His face was far too close.
She swallowed. "W-Why are you saying it like that? It wasn’t on purpose..."
Silas tilted his head slightly, the faintest smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Exactly. You didn’t even realize how weak you were. That is your crime."
"Crime?" Ivy squeaked, her voice cracking as she tried to lean back, but his hand on her neck followed her movement, refusing to let her escape.
Her pulse jumped under his fingertips, loud enough she felt it echo in her ears.
Silas’s gaze darkened with something possessive. "Yes. Crime."
His thumb glided over her throat again, slow and deliberate. "And you think I won’t punish you for it?"
Ivy’s heart jumped violently in her chest. Stop teasing me like this! How am I supposed to talk properly when he looks like that?
"I... Silas... focus!" Ivy whispered urgently, her fingers gripping his shirt as if anchoring herself. "We were talking about the temporal storage! Let’s stick to that."
Seeing her guilty look, Silas knew that Ivy would most likely let him give punishment later.
His mind started to spin with various ideas, and an outfit appeared in his mind.
’For now I should answer; otherwise she would become angry.’
"That is... we both have KBs," Silas finally replied, dragging his gaze away from her mouth with visible effort.
"But unlike you, who can multiply food, I cannot multiply anything edible. And I cannot multiply living beings at all. I can only duplicate non-living materials."
Ivy’s eyes didn’t even blink. She didn’t react, didn’t breathe, and didn’t nod.
She was thinking. Deeply.
’Non-living materials... then... minerals... metals... iron...’
Suddenly, her eyes widened. She leaned forward with barely contained excitement.
"Silas! Can you multiply iron? Or other minerals?"
Silas frowned, slightly thrown off by her sudden enthusiasm.
"Why are you so curious about iron?"
"Because I want to build elevators!" Ivy replied in a breathless rush.
"And there are machines, big ones, that need iron and steel. If you can duplicate minerals, then we don’t need to worry about anything. Even the apocalypse wouldn’t matter. We could easily become the richest couple in existence."
Silas couldn’t help it; he burst into laughter. The sound was warm, rich, and teasing. He leaned in and tapped her forehead.
"My silly squirrel, if you want wealth, I’ll dump every asset I own in your lap. Why does my wife act as if her husband isn’t rich enough?"
Ivy waved her hand dismissively.
"I have a temporal storage now! I want to use my cheat code to rise above everyone. Once the apocalypse ends, I want absolute dominance."
Silas’s smile faded slowly. A frown replaced it.
He studied her carefully.
"Ivy... Is there something you aren’t telling me? Why are you so sure the apocalypse will end? From everything you’ve told me, humanity still hadn’t found a cure in your previous life, even after ten years."
Ivy interrupted him before he could continue.
"In my previous life, my mother and Felix left our hideout to retrieve the half-zombie antidote."
Silas stilled. His eyes sharpened. "Continue."
"In that lifetime... someone did make a solution. Not for full zombies, but for half-zombies. That means curing the virus entirely wasn’t far behind."
Silas thought deeply for a moment before speaking.
"If you find the researchers who had worked on the antidote, even then, it may take five years or more."
Ivy shook her head fiercely.
"Not this time. Now that I have resources, food, temporal storage, and influence... I want to pour everything into research. I want to accumulate assets, gather scientists, and push humanity forward. I want this apocalypse to end in one year. Just one."
Her voice trembled with determination. "And when it ends, I will be the richest person alive."
Silas stared at her, a faint shimmer appearing in his eyes, half admiration, half something far more intense.
