Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 507: Link

Chapter 507: Chapter 507: Link

The moment he reached the room, he heard crying.

Constant, panicked crying.

Silas’s heart clenched violently. He pushed the door open, and the sight inside froze him in place.

Ivy was coughing blood.

The deep red stained her lips and hands, stark against her pale skin.

"What happened?" Silas demanded, his voice trembling despite himself.

Ember turned toward him with tears streaming down her face. She rushed forward and grabbed his arm.

"Brother-in-law, do something!" she cried. "Ivy suddenly reacted as if someone struck her cheeks. She just... started bleeding!"

Silas felt the world turn cold.

He had never imagined Jade’s condition could somehow affect Ivy directly.

Without another word, he turned and rushed back.

When he reached Jade again, he saw that same strange smirk waiting for him, as if Jade had already anticipated everything.

Silas’s eyes narrowed. "What did you do?"

Jade tilted his head slightly. "Should that not be obvious by now?"

Silas wanted to punch him again. The urge burned fiercely inside him, but the image of Ivy coughing blood stopped him.

He forced himself to stay calm.

"Tell me," Silas said, his voice low, almost pleading. "What have you done to her?"

Jade’s smile widened.

"I will not tell you," he replied. "Not unless you agree to leave Ivy."

Silas fell silent.

The room seemed to grow heavier, the air pressing down on his lungs.

Then he nodded.

"I will."

Jade’s eyes narrowed. "I want proof."

Silas did not argue. He immediately drafted a written declaration, authorizing the separation and relinquishing his claim. When Jade saw it, he was visibly surprised.

He had expected resistance. A trap. A hidden condition.

Instead, Silas handed it over without hesitation.

Jade studied him carefully. ’Is he planning something later? If he dares go back on this, I will make him regret it,’ Jade thought.

Silas spoke quietly, as if reading his suspicion.

"There is no trick. I am not tricking you. I am just... desperate. I cannot watch her suffer."

Jade’s expression shifted slightly before he let out a soft chuckle.

"So, you are finally speaking honestly."

He leaned back.

"Here is the truth. Ivy and I are connected. You could call us... soulmates."

Silas’s gaze hardened, but he listened.

"I only realized it later," Jade continued. "Whenever I stayed near her, my weak body grew stronger. The pain I carried disappeared. That is why I kept lingering around."

At first, Jade had not understood what was happening. But on the sixth day, he learned Ivy had fallen into a coma. Worried, he tried to visit her.

"I stumbled while walking," Jade said. "My toe hurt badly. I thought it was nothing... but suddenly the pain vanished."

He looked up.

"Later, I heard people saying Ivy had started bleeding."

Jade paused.

"I wanted to test the connection, but I was afraid it would harm her. When you arrested me, I did not resist. I needed confirmation."

Silas lowered his gaze, struggling to process it.

’Pain transferring... a shared state? That is not possible unless...’

"Are you using some kind of power?" Silas asked sharply.

Jade raised his hand casually. "I am not using anything. This is not an ability I control. It is a link."

He hesitated before continuing.

"I have had visions since childhood of Ivy. You might think that she was yours first, but the reality is she is mine! Not yours! Also, I have divination superpower for the past few weeks. I have been having dreams of another world. At first, I thought they were fantasies, but I later found proof that such a world exists."

Silas listened in silence.

"My father," Jade said slowly, "injected the DNA of an unknown being into me so I could survive."

Silas’s eyes widened.

"In a way," Jade continued, "I am not entirely human. And neither is Ivy... if my guess is correct."

He met Silas’s gaze directly.

"Because of that shared origin, we are connected."

Silas shook his head immediately.

"If there is going to be any soulmate," he said firmly, "it is me."

Jade only sighed and shook his head.

"This is not something you can decide," he replied calmly. "It is not something either of us can control."

Silas felt his blood turn cold.

Just as he was about to speak again, Jade stretched lazily and interrupted him.

"I am feeling sleepy," Jade muttered. "I will sleep first."

With that, he simply lay down on the table, turned to one side, and within moments began snoring as if nothing significant had just been revealed.

The sound was steady, almost provoking in its normalcy.

Silas stood there, staring at him.

His eyes narrowed, his fists tightening until the knuckles turned pale. A violent urge surged through him to end Jade’s life right then and there.

’If he dies... will Ivy...’

The thought stopped him.

He could not take that risk.

At the same time, he could not understand why such a link between Jade and Ivy even existed.

The more he thought about it, the more it felt like an invisible hand was manipulating events beyond his control.

.....................

Meanwhile, Ivy, who had been lying unconscious in her room, suddenly woke up.

Her eyes opened abruptly, her breath sharp as if she had just escaped a nightmare.

Everyone around her rushed forward.

"Ivy, how are you feeling?"

"Are you alright?"

Their voices overlapped, filled with worry.

Ivy slowly pushed herself up, her movements weak but determined. She looked at everyone, her expression unusually grim.

"Where is Silas?" she said softly. "I need to talk with him!"

The room fell silent.

Helena immediately gestured to one of the healers. "Go. Call Silas at once."

The healer, blessed with super speed, vanished from the room and returned within minutes, bringing Silas along with him.

The moment Silas saw Ivy awake, relief flooded his face. He rushed forward and embraced her tightly.

"I was worried," he murmured. "How are you now?"

Ivy gently shook her head.

"There is something important I need to tell you."

She looked directly at him.
