Chapter 564: Command
Chapter 564: Chapter 564: Command
"The address written here isn’t very clear. Since you’re already heading inside the base anyway, you might as well take a look at it and tell me where it is."
The civilians exchanged uncertain glances with one another.
For a brief moment, hesitation flickered across their faces.
Then one of them shrugged. "Well... it doesn’t seem like a big deal."
Soon, all of them nodded in agreement.
One by one, they stepped forward and looked at the paper in Roma’s hand.
The moment they looked at it, however, something strange happened.
The address written on the paper looked... unusual.
The letters twisted in odd shapes, almost as if they were shifting subtly beneath their eyes.
The more they stared at it, the more confusing it became.
It felt strangely familiar... yet completely incomprehensible at the same time.
’I feel like I understand it... but I also don’t,’ one of them thought uneasily.
Their brows slowly furrowed as they tried harder to make sense of the words.
Then suddenly... They all froze.
Roma’s lips curved into a small smile.
"Stand up straight."
Without hesitation, every civilian immediately straightened their posture as if invisible strings had been pulled tight around their bodies.
Roma slowly stepped closer.
"Look into my eyes."
One by one, their gazes lifted toward her face.
The moment their eyes met hers, the strange confusion vanished from their expressions.
Instead, a blank calmness settled over them.
Roma’s smile widened slightly.
"From now on," she said quietly, "you will do whatever I ask you to do."
The civilians nodded in perfect unison. "Yes."
Roma seemed pleased. "Good."
She clapped her hands together softly. "Then here are your instructions."
Among the civilians, three men stood slightly closer to her than the others.
One of them was named Liam. Another was called Mango. And the third one was Anthony.
Those three men immediately turned and began walking toward the base entrance without hesitation.
Once they entered the base, the usual guards greeted them casually as always.
"Back already?" one guard muttered lazily.
But something felt strange.
All three of them walked with stiff movements. Their eyes looked empty, their expressions strangely blank.
They did not stop to talk to anyone.
Instead, they walked straight toward the center of the base as if driven by a single purpose.
Finally, they arrived at Martha’s office.
Anthony pushed the door open abruptly and stepped inside.
Martha, who had been reviewing documents at her desk, looked up immediately in surprise.
Her brows knitted together into a deep frown.
"Who are you?"
Her voice carried clear irritation.
"Do you even realize you can’t just barge in here without an appointment?"
Anthony said nothing.
Instead, he slowly reached into his pocket and pulled out a small crystal ball.
He raised his arm, clearly preparing to throw it toward the center of the room.
But before he could release it... A flash of light appeared.
The next instant, Anthony vanished.
Outside the base boundary, his body suddenly reappeared in the snow.
He was not the only one.
Liam and Mango were also thrown out at the exact same moment.
All three of them stumbled onto the frozen ground, confused and disoriented.
A few seconds later, a figure approached them quickly.
Roma appeared beside them, her expression immediately darkening when she saw them standing outside again.
"What are you doing here?"
Her voice was sharp with irritation. "Didn’t I send you inside to complete your mission?"
The three men looked at her blankly.
"We tried," Anthony muttered slowly. "But the moment we stepped inside... we were teleported out."
Liam nodded in agreement. "It happened instantly."
Roma frowned deeply. "This is strange."
Her gaze sharpened as she looked toward the distant base.
"You all didn’t think of harming anyone... so the rules shouldn’t have applied on you."
Her voice turned thoughtful.
"Then why would they teleport you out immediately?"
She fell silent for a moment, clearly analyzing the situation.
Something about this outcome did not make sense.
Meanwhile, Martha sat frozen in her chair, utterly confused about what had just happened in her office.
Only a few moments ago she had been calmly reviewing documents at her desk when suddenly a man. He was about to attack her but then he vanished.
’Did that... really just happen?’
Meanwhile, Ivy received the news about how a few people had suddenly been "dealt with" by the temporal storage after trying to cause trouble for Martha.
The moment the report reached her, she almost burst out laughing.
"Who even came up with such a ridiculous idea?"
The corner of her lips curled slightly as she muttered under her breath.
Of course, when she had designed the rules for the base, she had already considered countless possibilities.
Every scenario that could potentially lead to chaos had been carefully analyzed and countered with precise restrictions.
Still curious, Ivy couldn’t help but access the Temporal Storage list and check the records of the people who had tried to break the rules.
The moment the names appeared, her expression slowly darkened.
Mango... Anthony... and Liam.
Ivy frowned deeply. ’I know them.’
She had interacted with those three quite often in the past.
From everything she knew about them, one thing was certain: they were far from violent individuals.
If anything, they leaned more toward the goofy and silly side of humanity.
The kind of people who made stupid jokes during serious meetings and laughed at their own punchlines.
So why would they suddenly try to harm Martha?
Just as that question formed in her mind, the Temporal Storage provided another piece of information.
Those three had been under the control of something.
Ivy froze.
Since the Temporal Storage had extremely limited range but absolute accuracy within that range, every reason behind teleportations or instant imprisonments was automatically recorded.
It simply could not lie.
Which meant this information had to be true.
Still, it took Ivy a moment before the realization slowly dawned upon her.
’The superior being ...’
Her fingers clenched tightly.
