Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 567: Blood

Chapter 567: Chapter 567: Blood

It felt almost like a miracle.

When Ivy later returned, she immediately asked about Ember’s condition as usual.

She had no idea that Ember had already been completely healed.

Still, hearing that Ember’s condition had improved significantly instantly lifted her mood.

Her eyes shifted toward Alana, who was already packing her belongings to leave.

A soft smile appeared on Ivy’s face. "Helping you was probably the best decision I have ever made."

Alana chuckled lightly. "I couldn’t agree more."

She stood up and looked at Ivy carefully.

After a brief pause, she spoke again. "Do you want a bit of healing?"

Ivy blinked in surprise. "What do you mean? What is wrong with me? I feel completely fine."

Alana gave her a slow once-over, carefully observing her expression, posture, and breathing.

Then she spoke calmly. "Your mental state is not good."

Ivy froze slightly.

"In fact," Alana continued softly, "from what I can see, you might collapse again soon. Something must have stimulated you... Perhaps memories that you don’t want to remember are slowly resurfacing."

Hearing those words, Ivy was stunned.

She had never expected Alana to see through her so easily after meeting only a few times.

A faint smile appeared on her face. "In that case... I would also like some healing."

Alana chuckled and lifted her hand.

But just before her hand could touch Ivy... Another hand reached first.

A warm palm gently cupped Ivy’s cheek.

The touch was soft, comforting.

And along with it came a very familiar fragrance. Ivy immediately smiled softly and turned around.

Sure enough, Silas was standing behind her, quietly channeling energy into her.

Ivy’s eyes softened as she whispered in delight, "Wow..."

Just then, a voice called out from the side. "Ivy?"

Ivy blinked and snapped back to reality.

Realizing that she had just been fantasizing about that moment, she couldn’t help but scold herself silently.

’Get a grip... what are you even thinking right now?’

She could only feel her face growing even redder, the heat creeping all the way to the tips of her ears. Her fingers twitched awkwardly at her sides as she tried to compose herself.

Alana didn’t need to ask anything more.

She simply watched Ivy for a moment, the corner of her lips curling into a knowing smile.

’I see... such a cute girl.’

Without exposing Ivy any further, Alana quietly picked up her things and left the room.

Ember, on the other hand, looked at Ivy with pure curiosity. Her eyes sparkled with interest as she leaned slightly forward.

"What just happened?"

Ivy immediately cleared her throat and forced her expression back to normal. "I actually need your help with something."

She quickly redirected the topic before Ember could ask any more embarrassing questions, and the two of them left together.

As Ivy stepped outside, she started to read reports about the extreme cold. ’This isn’t right.’

The extreme cold was very different from what she remembered from her previous life.

Back then, the temperature had dropped to an unimaginable level. It had almost reached minus one hundred degrees Celsius before the freezing wave finally ended.

Entire buildings had cracked under the pressure of the frost, and even breathing had felt like inhaling shards of ice.

But this time, the temperature had barely touched minus fifty degrees Celsius before it began to recover.

This was completely new. Something about it made Ivy uneasy.

However, despite her suspicions, she temporarily pushed the thought aside. Recently, the research team inside her laboratory had made huge progress, and that development was far more urgent at the moment.

Even Ivy herself had been stunned when she received the report.

A pseudo-antidote had finally been completed.

The moment she arrived at the laboratory, several researchers hurried forward and presented the antidote carefully in front of her.

Ivy observed it for a moment before speaking. "What are the effects?"

Jay, the head researcher, stepped forward and adjusted his glasses slightly.

"This antidote has about ninety-five percent of the correct composition."

He pointed toward the vial as he continued.

"As long as a zombie drinks it, they can regain consciousness for almost fifteen days."

Ivy’s eyes widened slightly. Jay continued, his voice turning more serious.

"However, for reasons we still cannot determine, they eventually transform back into zombies after that period."

He paused briefly before adding, "There are no other side effects."

Hearing this, Ivy couldn’t hide her surprise. "If that’s the case, this is already a very good version. Why not continue improving it?"

The room suddenly fell silent.

The researchers exchanged glances with one another before Jay spoke again, his voice slightly conflicted.

"We do want to continue."

He exhaled slowly. "But there is one ingredient missing. We have searched everywhere for it and still haven’t been able to find it."

He spread his hands helplessly. "So for now, we could only present this half-complete version."

Ivy frowned slightly and was about to respond when suddenly...

"YES!"

The shout was so loud that Ivy visibly flinched.

The vial slipped from her hand. Crash! Glass shattered across the floor.

The sharp sound echoed through the laboratory as fragments scattered everywhere.

Ivy immediately crouched down to collect the broken pieces, carefully gathering the glass shards from the floor. The cold liquid spread across the tiles, releasing a faint chemical scent.

When she finished, she noticed something else. Her palm had been cut by one of the glass shards.

A thin line of blood slowly dripped down to the floor, right into the antidote.

Jay saw it instantly. His face turned pale with worry. "Ivy! You’re bleeding!"

He knew very well how much his wife cared about Ivy. If she found out Ivy had been injured under his watch, he would definitely be in serious trouble.

"Quick, bring bandages!"

Someone rushed over with medical supplies, and Jay personally wrapped the bandage around Ivy’s hand with careful precision.

Ivy rolled her eyes slightly.

’If they had left it alone, it would have healed in a few minutes.’

But what caught her attention wasn’t her injury.
