Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 572: Special Card

Chapter 572: Chapter 572: Special Card

Memories of the harsh experiences she had endured while surviving outside and later adjusting to the base came flooding back.

She began venting everything she had been holding inside.

Mika quietly listened and let her release all her emotions.

But inside his own heart, a wave of happiness was rising.

’I am human again... I can stay with my sister again...’

Tears slowly filled his eyes as he closed them.

Whoever had created the antidote...

In Mika’s mind, that person was nothing less than a divine savior.

’May God bless that person.’

And Mika was not the only one experiencing such a miracle.

All across the base, similar scenes were unfolding.

Families who had once watched their loved ones turn into monsters were now seeing them return to human form.

Tears, laughter, and emotional reunions were happening everywhere.

For the first time in a long while, the base was filled with warmth instead of despair.

Meanwhile, Ivy was witnessing another surprising development.

Her KB meter was rising rapidly.

The numbers climbed higher and higher, increasing at a speed that even surprised her.

The Temporal Storage suddenly spoke inside her mind.

[This is a good opportunity to utilize your KB.]

Ivy blinked. "What kind of use can it even have?"

The Temporal Storage responded calmly.

[You can purchase manuals.]

"Manuals?"

[Detailed guides that provide in-depth understanding of your abilities. As long as you spend KB, I can supply such manuals."]

Ivy’s eyes widened in surprise. "When did this function even exist?"

She frowned slightly. "Why don’t I remember you mentioning this before?"

The Temporal Storage remained silent for a moment before replying.

[Due to multiple upgrades and system developments... I neglected to mention it earlier.]

Ivy sighed in mild disbelief. "So how does it work?"

[As long as you provide a specific amount of KB, I can generate manuals explaining the full potential of your powers.]

The voice continued.

[Additionally, you can purchase manuals for other superhumans as well.]

Hearing that, Ivy immediately became interested. She quickly thought about her parents and siblings.

Without hesitation, she began browsing through the available manuals. However, when she saw the list, her expression froze.

Currently, there were only two manuals available.

One for her own ability... And one for thunder-type superhumans.

Ivy frowned deeply.

"Temporal Storage, are you serious?"

Her voice carried obvious irritation.

"You just told me I could buy manuals for everyone in my family."

She crossed her arms. "But right now I can’t even see a single one for them."

The Temporal Storage responded calmly.

[More options will unlock at higher system levels. So you need to...]

Ivy finished the sentence before it could. "Upgrade you."

She sighed and waved her hand dismissively. "I know, I know."

There was a hint of helpless annoyance in her voice as she muttered quietly.

"You really love asking for upgrades."

Meanwhile, Greta took Mika home, and the moment he stepped inside the base and truly saw it, his entire body went rigid with shock.

His eyes slowly scanned everything around him, widening bit by bit as disbelief settled deep into his bones.

’This... this is a SiIvy base?’ he wondered, his breath catching faintly in his throat.

The roads were perfectly sealed, smooth beneath his feet without even a crack to trip over.

There was no chaos, no shouting, no restless crowds pushing against one another.

Most importantly, there was no suffocating stench of human waste that he had long grown accustomed to.

Instead, the air carried a faint, almost unfamiliar cleanliness, tinged with the soft scent of disinfectant and something warm, like cooked food drifting from nearby homes.

The houses were properly structured, aligned neatly, each one looking safe, stable, and lived in.

What stunned him even more was the regulated temperature.

A gentle, controlled coolness brushed against his skin, neither too cold nor too warm, wrapping around him like a comforting embrace.

’Even the military base never managed something like this...’ he thought, his fingers unconsciously brushing against the wall as if to confirm it was real.

Then he noticed something else, a grocery store.

The moment his gaze landed on it, his eyes lit up instantly. Without hesitation, he turned toward Greta and blurted, "Let’s go there first."

Greta paused for a fraction of a second before nodding. "Alright."

Her mother also nodded silently, her eyes lingering on Mika with a trembling softness.

’He’s really here... he’s alive...’

Her chest tightened as gratitude flooded her heart.

Leaving the military base had been the right decision. At least here, she could keep both her children safe.

As they entered the grocery store, a wave of warmth and mixed aromas greeted them.

Mika slowly strolled through the aisles, his fingers brushing against neatly arranged shelves.

His eyes darted from one item to another.

There was everything, fresh vegetables, instant noodles, neatly packed bento boxes, and even various kinds of exotic spices that had long disappeared elsewhere.

People moved around calmly, picking items as if this was just another normal day.

’As if the apocalypse never even happened...,’ he thought, a strange unease creeping into his chest.

He quietly leaned closer to Greta and whispered, "Has the apocalypse... completely ended? Why are the antidote still not for sale yet?"

Greta’s expression instantly sharpened. She raised her hand slightly, signaling him to stop.

Then she leaned in and whispered back, her voice low and firm, "Stay quiet... it’s top secret. I can’t tell you right now."

Mika blinked, then slowly nodded. "...Got it."

He moved toward the instant noodle section, but the moment his eyes landed on the shelves, they sparkled like a child’s.

Without hesitation, he grabbed multiple packs.

"Manchurian flavor... and Italian too..." he muttered under his breath, almost excited.

He didn’t stop there. He took ten of each, stacking them into his basket without the slightest guilt.

’I missed these so much...’ he thought, almost emotional.

Since Mika was a new resident, he was issued a special card.

This card was specifically given to those who had been treated with the antidote.
