Chapter 653: Millions Of Points
Chapter 653: Chapter 653: Millions Of Points
Ivy nodded slowly before speaking directly. "I want ownership of two villas in return for providing you both till the apocalypse ends."
Diana’s eyes widened in shock.
"How can you say that? That is nothing compared to what you are offering. This apocalypse could last indefinitely."
Ivy shook her head calmly.
"Hm? The apocalypse will end within the next five months anyway. It isn’t that long!"
"Five months?" Diana repeated, confusion evident in her voice.
Ivy gestured for them to follow her again. She brought them to witness the antidote.
They saw it with their own eyes. A zombie... returning to human.
By the time Ivy finished explaining everything, both Diana and Tammy stood there, stunned beyond words.
Food. Shelter. Protection. Even a cure.
It felt as if, for the first time since the apocalypse began, humanity could finally see a way forward.
Diana’s eyes grew moist as she turned to Ivy. "You are a good child," she said softly. "Heaven will reward you for this."
The words lingered in the air.
And as if the universe itself acknowledged them...
The next second, the temporal storage’s voice rang out.
[We have received one hundred million KB points.]
Ivy’s breath stilled for just a moment.
’One hundred... million...’
She was so shocked that she almost stumbled backward, her breath catching in her throat.
"One hundred million... from just one person?" she whispered under her breath.
Her heart pounded loudly in her chest, each beat echoing in her ears.
Tammy, on the other hand, looked at Ivy with open admiration, her eyes shining with gratitude and warmth.
Then... Ding. Another notification rang out.
[Two hundred million KB points received.]
Ivy’s body stiffened.
Her hand instinctively clenched into a fist, her nails pressing into her palm as she tried to suppress her reaction. ’This... cannot be real...’
She had thought that the earlier amount was already unbelievable. But it did not stop.
[Ding. One hundred million KB points received.]
[Ding. One hundred million KB points received.]
The sound repeated again and again, like a relentless rhythm hammering into her mind.
Meanwhile, Diana and Tammy walked around the area, speaking with others. People eagerly shared their experiences... how Ivy’s grocery store had saved them, how they had survived because of her.
With every story, Diana’s impression of Ivy deepened.
Her gaze softened. Her tone became gentler.
Unknowingly, her kindness toward Ivy grew stronger... and with it, the points surged.
All the while, Ivy felt her head buzzing, the constant notifications almost overwhelming her senses.
By the time the day ended...
She had gained nearly five billion points from Diana and Tammy alone.
That night, she returned to her room, her steps slightly unsteady. The moment her body touched the bed, exhaustion pulled her into sleep almost instantly.
The next morning, as she woke up and made her way downstairs, the temporal storage spoke again.
[You missed quite a show.]
Ivy rubbed her temples, still feeling the lingering dizziness. "What happened?"
The reply came, almost amused. [More points. A lot more. Your total has now reached nearly fifty billion.]
Ivy froze mid-step.
Her sleepiness vanished completely.
"Can you stop shocking me like this?" she muttered, placing a hand on her chest as if to steady her racing heart.
Taking a deep breath, she walked out.
Downstairs, she saw Diana and Tammy again.
Now dressed in clean, warm clothes, their appearances had changed drastically. Their faces no longer carried the same exhaustion, and they were chatting with others, their voices calm and composed.
The area was crowded.
Ivy began walking toward them. But before she could call out, she heard a familiar voice.
"I truly hate people like Ivy the most," Sherry’s voice rang out, sharp and filled with disdain.
Ivy paused.
"What does she think of herself?" Sherry continued, her tone growing louder.
"Is she some kind of queen? Why is she acting like she is above everyone? So what if she owns this grocery store? Is it not normal to help others? After all, we are all human."
Ivy rolled her eyes slightly. ’She really cannot stop, can she...’
Just as Ivy was about to respond, Tammy stepped forward.
Her expression turned cold, her earlier warmth replaced by sharp anger.
"I have seen people with no class before," Tammy said clearly, her voice cutting through the noise, "but this is the first time I have seen someone even lower than that."
The crowd fell silent. Sherry’s face stiffened. Compared to Ivy, who was relatively unknown, Tammy was different.
She was famous. Respected. Someone many people admired. Sherry hesitated, unable to directly retaliate.
Tammy continued, her gaze unwavering. "If you have any complaints about Ivy, you are free to leave. This place belongs to her."
Sherry’s expression turned sour, her lips curling with bitterness. "So what if she owns it?" she snapped. "Drake and Ronak own the land. Without them, what is she?"
Her voice turned oddly confident, almost delusional. "Drake is a gentleman. Once he realizes what kind of woman she is, he will definitely throw her out."
The crowd reacted immediately, their expressions darkening. Some shook their heads.
Others looked at her with clear disdain.
But Sherry continued, oblivious. "I know Drake well. Ronak is close to me too..."
"I do not know you."
A cold voice cut her off. The moment those words echoed, the crowd parted instinctively.
Drake walked forward.
His presence alone shifted the atmosphere, making the air feel heavier.
He stopped in front of Sherry, his gaze sharp and unyielding. "If you are here to insult my savior, then you can leave."
His tone carried no room for argument.
"What do you mean by people like Ivy?" he continued, his voice dropping slightly. "Have you ever looked at yourself before speaking about her?"
Sherry’s eyes watered instantly, her earlier confidence crumbling.
"I... I was just trying to show how much you and Ronak have done..." she muttered weakly.
Drake waved his hand dismissively. "Do not lower me by saying such things. Yes, I own the land. But what does that mean?"
He turned toward the crowd, his expression serious.
