Chapter 647: Di Hansheng’s Experiments ( 2 )
Chapter 647: Di Hansheng’s Experiments ( 2 )
Standing on the rooftop of a three-story building, Di Hansheng closed his eyes and focused his energy on his surroundings. Unlike when he made those zombies float, he had to use his ability on himself, so he did not dare to be reckless.
After he calmed down, he tried to manipulate the gravity around him. The next moment, he suddenly felt so light that he was blown away by the wind.
"Aaahhhh!" he screamed in shock.
The members were taken aback when they heard his scream. When they turned in his direction, they only saw him hit a billboard.
With his current physical condition, that hit would not injure him, but it was still embarrassing. The members shook their heads and lit a candle for him in their hearts.
Who has not experienced some failure when they tried to find the best fighting style before?
Take Xiao Qi as an example. To learn his own limit, he pushed himself too much and ended up crying for the whole night and devouring two boxes of chocolate due to his mental breakdown.
The members were not worried about him, but Su Ruanyi grimaced when she saw him suddenly slam to the ground with a loud sound.
The next moment, she saw Di Hansheng suddenly shoot up to the sky as if he were a projectile thrown away by a catapult before he slammed into the wall of a building.
"That must hurt a lot," she muttered.
Standing not far from him, Zhang Yuan let out a chuckle and said, "You do not have to worry about him. As a level-one ability-user, he will not die from that level of injuries."
Su Ruanyi did not know whether she should laugh or cry when she heard those words. Fortunately, she was an earth-type ability-user and was trained personally by the Vice Captain.
Compared to Qin Luzi, Zhang Yuan’s training style was more lenient.
What was more, he was gentle and considerate. Although he would push her to her limit every time, he would never let her do reckless experiments like what Qin Luzi did to Di Hansheng.
While the members were clearing the areas, the sound of their battle could be heard from a distance.
At this moment, several groups living around the outer area of the city center heard the sounds and came out to check the situation.
Standing on top of a high building’s rooftop, a man was observing the Phantom Team using military binoculars. The binoculars were the advanced version and could see an object from a distance of forty kilometers away.
After a while, he lowered the binoculars, and one of the people standing around him asked, "Boss, should we send our people to check the situation there?"
Lin Que thought for a moment and shook his head. "No need. Those people are the Phantom Team."
Hearing this, another man said, "Boss, are they coming here for the same mission as us?"
"Our mission was issued personally by the Wei family and not registered at the mission hall. Unless they contact the Phantom Team directly, there is no way they have the same mission as us," Lin Que replied.
"Then, what are they doing here?"
"As long as they do not have a conflict of interest with us, there is no need to pry into their business." After a moment of silence, Lin Que added, "Inform everyone to get ready. After the Phantom Team clears the zombies in that area, we will depart immediately."
Receiving this order, his members nodded and replied in unison, "Understood."
When he was alone, Lin Que took out his satellite phone and dialed a number. Soon after, a female voice was heard, "Lin Que, why did you suddenly call me?"
"Weiyi, I need your help."
"What is it?" Xue Weiyi asked.
"Help me investigate the Wei family. See if they hired another mercenary team besides us."
After she heard this, Xue Weiyi said, "No problem. I will contact you after I get the information."
"Thank you," Lin Que said before he hung up the call.
At Lin’an City, Xue Weiyi was currently doing a mission with her team. After she received the phone call from her childhood friend, she quickly contacted her spy hiding in the Wei family’s base.
"Hello, Sister," a woman’s voice was heard from the phone.
"Qingqing, how is your situation over there?" Xue Weiyi asked.
"Sister, everything is fine here. Do you have any orders for me?" Wei Qingqing asked.
"I need you to investigate the Wei family’s movements. Besides the Blood Shadow Team, did they hire another mercenary team?"
Wei Qingqing thought for a moment and replied, "I will investigate this matter. But so far, besides their usual movements, nothing is out of the ordinary."
Before Xue Weiyi could say anything, she heard her member add, "Oh, I recalled that the eldest young master of the Wei family went out of the base last week and brought back an old man with him."
"This old man’s name is Wen Bo, and from the information I gathered, he was a biochemical researcher before the apocalypse. He is also the mentor of one of the Phantom Team’s members, Mo Junjie."
Hearing this, Xue Weiyi thought for a moment and said, "Keep an eye on him and report if you find anything unusual. Remember, your safety is the priority. Retreat immediately if the situation is too dangerous."
"Sister, do not worry. I know what I am doing," Wei Qingqing reassured her.
After she hung up the call, Xue Weiyi turned to her team members and said, "Find a place to stay the night before the sunset."
"Vice Captain, should we go to the small house we saw earlier?" one of her members asked.
"No need, we still have to go to another place tomorrow. Going back and forth will waste our gas. Just find a nearby place," Xue Weiyi shook her head.
"Okay."
When the sun finally set on the western horizon, the Phantom Team finally finished killing the last zombies.
