Recalling how Su Ruanyi cried, Zhang Yuan scratched the back of his head and hesitated. After a moment, he finally said, "You know how intense my training is."

"She is a young girl after all. I don’t think she is suitable to train under me. You have more experience training new recruits. I think it’s better for you to train her."

After he heard his words, Li Sikai stared at his brother for a long time before he said, "I have no problem with being her mentor. But this matter can’t be decided just by you or me. As someone involved in this matter, we still have to ask Ruanyi’s opinion."

"Then, let’s ask her during dinner," Zhang Yuan agreed.

When the Phantom Team arrived at the cafeteria, the hall was crowded with people dining there. The waiting lines were so long that it would take a long time before it was their turn.

Seeing this, Xiao Qi turned to the members and said, "Vice Captain, we will line up. You should find places first."

Since she was feeling unwell, Su Ruanyi didn’t join the younger members and went with Zhang Yuan and the rest. Usually, she would sit with the younger members during meals. But today, before she was able to go to another table, her wrist was grabbed by someone.

During this time, Li Sikai was observing their interaction from across the table. The corner of his lips was lifted when he noticed the young girl’s sneaking glances at his brother.

When he heard this, Li Sikai raised his eyebrows and said with surprise, "Brother, I never expected you to make a girl cry."

Noticing his teasing tone, Zhang Yuan kicked him under the table and said, "Stop joking. We are discussing a serious matter now."

Being kicked, Li Sikai was not angry. Instead, he let out a chuckle and nodded in agreement. "Making a girl cry... This is indeed a serious matter."

Ignoring his brother’s remark, Zhang Yuan looked at Su Ruanyi and said, "Think about it carefully before you make a decision."

Su Ruanyi took a deep breath and replied, "Vice Captain, I have thought about it. Although the training is tiring and I felt like dying, I can feel the improvement in my control over my ability. Besides the increase in my energy, my physique has also improved significantly."

After a moment of pause, she continued, "Vice Captain, I promise to never complain anymore. I will work hard and do my best to get stronger."

Zhang Yuan still felt that Li Sikai was more suitable to be her mentor. But when he met her determined gaze, he couldn’t bring himself to reject her.

Not long after, the other members walked over while holding trays of food. During the meal, Li Sikai paid more attention to Zhang Yuan and Su Ruanyi’s interactions.

Under normal circumstances, the members would take care of each other, but none of them were as attentive as Zhang Yuan. He not only gave Su Ruanyi half of his meat dish, but he even picked out the cilantro she disliked from her tray and ate it.

This was the first time he had seen him share food with a girl. After they finished their meal, Zhang Yuan poured a cup of water for Su Ruanyi and helped her put away her tray.
