Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space

Chapter 752: Warning

Chapter 752: Warning

Hearing Fu Guai’s grumbling, Pei Yixie stared at the back of his head but said nothing. Besides him, no one ever protects her like this.

Looking at the snow piling on top of his head, she smiled and said, "Brother Fu, wear your hood properly."

After she said this, Fu Guai patted the snow from his head and put on his hood obediently. Although he wouldn’t get sick, he still listened to her. After all, she cares about him, and he didn’t want to disappoint her.

When the two of them walked past the public hall, they saw a large group of guards surrounding the perimeter. Feeling curious, Pei Yixie said, "Brother Fu, let’s take a look."

Raising his eyebrows, Fu Guai asked, "Didn’t you say you were hungry and cold?"

"There is a show to watch. Who would feel cold and hungry?" Pei Yixie replied and tugged on his hand.

The two of them walked into the public hall and saw that Xie Zhou was also there. Since they were only there to watch the show, they stood at the back and didn’t interfere.

In the center of the public hall, several mercenary teams were surrounded by guards.

"Commander Xie, what do you mean by this?" one of the team leaders asked as he stared at Xie Zhou.

Xie Zhou glanced at the mercenaries and said, "It should be me who is asking what you all mean by this."

Meeting his cold gaze, the mercenaries knew that they wouldn’t be able to play this matter down anymore. So, one of the captains said, "Commander Xie, we are just joking with them. There is no need for you to mobilize so many guards."

Hearing this, Xie Zhou sneered. He narrowed his eyes and said, "I never knew that beating people until they are on the brink of death is just a joke in Captain Wang’s eyes."

As soon as he finished his words, he waved his hand. The next moment, a wind bullet appeared out of nowhere and hit Captain Wang’s forehead.

Crack!

Being hit by the sudden attack, Captain Wang was thrown out of the hall and crashed into the ground, breaking the ice beneath him.

When the mercenaries saw him attack one of them, they rushed over to retaliate. But before they could make a move, Xie Zhou raised his hand and swung it down.

"Kneel!"

CRACK!

Following his word, all of the mercenaries suddenly bent their knees and knelt on the ground with a loud sound. Judging from the sound, most of them must have shattered their kneecaps.

The mercenaries used all their strength to raise their heads and stared at him in horror.

Everyone only knew that the Green Lake Base’s Commander was only a Captain in the Lin’an City Base. Although he was a wind-type ability-user, he was only at level three.

They thought that he only depended on the guards and the Lin’an Base backing him up. So, when the base was locked down, they dared to challenge his authority.

Only after facing him directly did they realize how foolish they were. For Lin’an City Base to appoint him as the Green Lake Base’s Commander, he must not be as simple as his public image.

"You are a level four ability-user!" one of them exclaimed in surprise.

Feeling the heavy pressure on top of him, another mercenary team’s Captain finally said, "Y-you are a dual ability-user?"

Ignoring his question, Xie Zhou turned to Luo Bingxing and said, "I see that they still have a lot of energy despite the cold. Since that’s the case, revoke their teams’ permits and send them to the labor camp for six months."

Hearing this, Luo Bingxing said, "Commander, we still need workers to operate the central heating system."

"Then send them over."

"Understood," Luo Bingxing nodded and glanced at the elite guards.

Xie Zhou flicked his wrist, and the gravitational forces around the mercenaries returned to normal. The guards had to drag them out since they couldn’t walk due to their knee injuries. When they left, they didn’t forget to drag Captain Wang away.

After they left, Xie Zhou finally looked at the survivors and said, "This will be a warning to everyone. Whoever breaks the rules will be punished accordingly."

"I hope there will be no one foolish enough to commit the same crime as they did. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless," he added with a smile.

Although he was smiling at them, everyone felt a chill run down their spines. They always thought that Commander Xie was a good person, but they were wrong. He was not good at all!

Who didn’t know that the base collected a lot of zombie corpses before winter and used them as fuel to operate the central heating system?

Those who worked at that place were paid highly, but it was a very risky job.

No one would know if they would make a mistake and get infected by the zombie virus. So, being sent to work there was a harsh punishment. They might lose their lives if they were not careful.

When they thought about the punishment, people who planned to extort ordinary people finally changed their minds.

After a moment of silence, Xie Zhou added, "Everyone can stay in the public hall to avoid the cold, but no one is allowed to fight. If you dare to cause a ruckus again, you will be banned from entering this area in the future."

"We don’t know when this winter will end. Rather than wasting your time fighting each other, it’s better to save your energy and supplies."

"Commander, if we can’t go out, we won’t be able to earn points. Without points, we will starve to death," a young man said.

Xie Zhou nodded and replied, "The base won’t be locked down forever. Right now, we have no information about the situation outside. Even if you go out, there is no guarantee that you can find anything. You might even lose your life."
