Zombie Apocalypse: Reborn With A Farming Space

Chapter 762: Memories

Chapter 762: Memories

The moment she heard the Tenth Elder’s words, the Twelfth Elder said through gritted teeth, "Bullshit! No matter how good other planets are, the human race was born on Earth. I believe no other planet is better than Earth. I won’t let them harness our planet’s energy."

Seeing that the situation was becoming tense, the First Elder finally raised his hand and said, "Everyone, calm down."

Following his words, a heavy pressure crashed down and forced the Elders to shut up. Although the Twelfth Elder still had a belly full of anger, she could only keep her words to herself.

In the organization, their positions were based on strength. The First Elder was their leader because he was the strongest.

After everyone finally calmed down, he said, "Right now, our first priority is not bickering among ourselves but focusing on our space station and experiments. Also, is there any news from the Eleventh Elder?"

Hearing this, everyone shook their heads. After the last meeting, the Eleventh Elder left to investigate the location of Subject 088. But after so long, there was no news from him, and they could not even locate him anymore.

"First Elder, it has been so long. If the Eleventh Elder were still alive, he should have sent news back. We also haven’t been able to locate him for months. Judging from the situation, he might have perished," the Third Elder said.

The First Elder tapped his fingers on the armrest for a moment before turning to the Second Elder and asking, "How about the spies? Did you get any news from them?"

As the head of the Military Department, the Second Elder was responsible for mobilizing the troops. With the Eleventh Elder gone missing, the Intelligence Department was currently under his supervision.

"No news. All of our spies have been taken out by the bases."

The First Elder frowned when he heard this. "Fifth Elder, have you found out who sneaked into the facility and took away the subjects?"

"From our investigation, we were only able to find out that the perpetrator was a woman, and she was alone. There was no sign of forced intrusion in our system or doors."

"So this person might be someone who knows the situation of the facility clearly and has a key to the laboratory," Pei Gan said meaningfully as he glanced at the Twelfth Elder.

Hearing this, the Twelfth Elder slammed her palm on the long table and asked, "Fifth Elder, what do you mean by that? Are you saying that I am the one who sneaked into the laboratory and took away the experiment data and subjects?"

Pei Gan spread his arms and replied, "I didn’t say it was you. Why are you so agitated, Twelfth Elder?"

"You!"

"Enough!" the First Elder said with a frown.

Under his pressure, the Twelfth Elder could only stop and glare at Pei Gan. He glanced at everyone suspiciously for a while before saying, "Continue to investigate this matter. I don’t want to hear another excuse. Give me the result in one month."

"Understood," the Elders replied in unison.

The next moment, the Elders disappeared one after another. After they left, the meeting room lit up. At this moment, the room was empty, as the Elders had attended the meeting using image projections.

After the meeting was over, the Twelfth Elder clenched her fists and muttered in a low voice, "Jiang Ziyi, are you really dead or faking your death?"

Even though she was eager to find the answer, no one replied to her. Besides the low humming of the machine, only the sound of her breathing could be heard.

At the same time, Jiang Ziyi was watching the Elders while cracking melon seeds. He was leaning on a recliner with a blue screen in front of him.

The blue screen was divided into several sections, with each Elder occupying a smaller section, while the situation in the facility and the headquarters of the Light of Dawn Organization took up the larger sections.

He stared at the Twelfth Elder and heard her words clearly. After Gaia hacked into the facility’s main system, it managed to break into the Organization’s main system as well.

With this, Jiang Ziyi was able to monitor them without fearing of getting caught. If not because Gaia was unable to crack the code of the Matkuna Race’s system, he would not have to spy on these Elders.

Right now, he had no idea what those bugs were planning, since this situation did not occur in his previous lifetimes. The Matkuna General should only appear when they almost finished harvesting the Earth Core’s energy.

After countless "resets," the only time he managed to destroy half of the Matkuna Race was the timeline where Jin Xuyan turned into a zombie and fought against the Matkuna Race head-on.

The result of that battle was Earth’s destruction, and Jin Xuyan fell into a long, deep slumber.

Before Earth exploded, Jiang Ziyi activated his system and brought himself and Jin Xuyan to another parallel world, where they were discovered by a stranded space station from Earth.

That was the beginning of the Tarakam Civilization.

Thinking back on that time, he was actually lucky to survive that calamity. Although he managed to save his life and the system, his body could not survive.

To ensure the completion of his mission, he could not die yet. So, he split his main system into two parts, which were Gaia and Nishkrayan.

With the systems no longer restraining each other, he managed to develop his own clone and transferred his consciousness into the new body. That was how he was able to live for millions of years.

His body was no longer his original one, and his soul was nothing but a pile of data.

As his thoughts were lost in his memories, Gaia suddenly activated an emergency protocol. With a snap, his mind cleared instantly, and his eyes regained their clarity.

"Great Commander, your data is unstable right now. You should not immerse yourself in those memories."

Hearing Gaia’s reminder, Jiang Ziyi smiled and replied, "I was careless."
