Chapter 844: Negotiation ( 10 )

Jin Xuyan finished his pancakes and drank a cup of soymilk before he said, "In that case, my team will take 60%. Both of you can take 20% each."

Hearing this, Wen Hanli raised his eyebrows but said nothing. As for the Mo family, they stared at him but didn’t refuse immediately.

"The Phantom Team can take 50%, and my side will take 30%. The Lin’an City Base can take 20%," Mo Junlong offered.

Wen Hanli chuckled at his words. "Comrade Mo, my base sent 50,000 mutants as reinforcement, while your side only has fewer than 2,000 mutants."

"As you said before, your side had a lot of injured mutants. This means that your people are weak, and most of the work was done by my people and the Phantom Team. Not to mention that defending Sanchou Base only benefits your family."

"Even if we take all of the crystal cores, your side not only has to agree, but you also need to thank us. You know clearly how much loss you will face if this base is destroyed."

The moment he said this, the faces of the Mo family’s members turned cold.

"Vice Commander Wen, are you threatening me?" Mo Junlong asked.

Spreading his arms, Wen Hanli replied with a smile, "Comrade Mo, you are overthinking. I’m just stating the facts."

Jin Xuyan watched them argue for a while before he stood up and said, "All of you can take your time to discuss this matter. I still have matters to attend to and can’t stay any longer."

After he said this, he held his fiancée’s hand and left the room. Before closing the door, he added, "My team will take 60%."

While the Mo family and Wen Hanli were exchanging blows during their meeting, the Phantom Team joined the guard to clear the battlefield.

As for Jiao Lizhi, she finally saw Jiang Ziyi. When she found him, he was chatting with a group of young mutants while sharing a meal.

Seeing her, he waved his hand and introduced her to the others. "That’s my daughter. I have to go back now. Goodbye."

When everyone heard his words, they were dumbfounded. He looked like he was in his early twenties, and his daughter was of a similar age to him. Because of this, they treated his words as a joke.

Jiao Lizhi said nothing and led him to the desolate alley. "Have you finished your business?" she asked.

Jiang Ziyi nodded and returned the backpack to her. "It has been a while since I came out. I wonder how the children are doing inside."

Hearing this, Jiao Lizhi said nothing and held his hand. The moment her fingers wrapped around his cold palm, she noticed his body stiffened slightly. Glancing at him, she saw nothing on his face, but his fingers curled slightly as if returning her hold.

For an unknown reason, she recalled the memories from her childhood. The Great Commander loved to hold her and her sister’s hands as they took a walk after dinner. The memories were still as clear as yesterday, thanks to her System.

Noticing her strangeness, Jiang Ziyi asked, "Fengyan, what’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing," Jiao Lizhi said and brought him into her space.

When the two of them appeared inside, a group of children rushed over. They surrounded Jiang Ziyi and bombarded him with countless questions.

Seeing that he was busy, Jiao Lizhi left the Space and joined her team to clean the battlefield.

The news about the zombie horde appearing in Sanchou City spread to other cities soon after Wen Hanli arrived at Sanchou Base.

While both the Lin’an City Base and Sanchou Base’s situation was calming down, the situation in the Green Lake Base was not as promising.

After several groups of mutants went out of control and attacked the guards and the residents, the base applied a curfew. Besides the patrolling guards, no one was allowed to go out after 8 o’clock in the evening.

At 9 o’clock in the evening, Xie Zhou was still in his office processing the documents. Suddenly, his phone rang, startling him.

Checking the caller name, he let out a sigh and picked up the call. "Captain Wen, why did you call me so late?"

Wen Chang’s voice was tense as he said, "Commander Xie, I’m sorry to disturb you so late. But I’m afraid that you need to come to the health center. We found something."

Hearing this, Xie Zhou frowned and said, "I’m on my way."

Thanks to the curfew, the road was empty. In less than 20 minutes, he arrived at the health center in his car. When he arrived, the guards were guarding the entire building.

Noticing the tight security, a bad premonition rose in his heart. He hastened his speed and entered the building.

Inside, Wen Chang and Wei Yunli had been waiting for him. Seeing him coming, they gave him a salute and led him to the quarantine room.

"What’s going on?" Xie Zhou asked.

Wei Yunli handed him a folder and explained, "We found the reason for the unstable mutation of the mutants. Here is the detailed report."

Xie Zhou read the report as he walked. After a while, he frowned and said, "How could this be possible? All the water and food come from us. The warehouses and water reservoirs are guarded for 24 hours."

"Commander, I’m afraid the origin of this parasite is not from water and food," Wen Chang said.

"What do you mean by that?"

Just after Xie Zhou said this, they arrived at the quarantine area. Inside the room were more than 50 mutants lying on the beds. They were tied to the beds using chains while the doctors and researchers were checking their vitals.

Seeing them coming, a middle-aged man walked out of the room and removed his safety suit. After he underwent a series of disinfection processes, he finally walked over.

"Commander, Vice Commander, Captain Wen," he greeted them with a nod.
