Chapter 865: Taking The Bait ( 2 )

Chapter 865: Taking The Bait ( 2 )

The other female members were also curious about what was going on, but they couldn’t pull off the palms covering their eyes. At this moment, the members had already turned their bodies awkwardly, not daring to take a second look.

Meanwhile, Du Beiye took out a set of battle suits and a pair of men’s underwear from her inventory and walked over to Mo Junjie. She glanced at his body for a few seconds before she placed the clothes on his lap.

Afterward, she joined the members and stared at the bright sky, as if they were statues.

It took Mo Junjie a few minutes to recover his senses. When he noticed the strange atmosphere, he shivered from the cold. Lowering his head, he was not surprised to find himself naked.

Every time he broke through, the poison mist would reconstruct his body and melt everything on his body, leaving him with not even a thread to cover his body.

Recalling what happened just now, he glanced at Du Beiye’s back, and a smile hung on his lips.

His body was lean but had the right amount of muscles. He was always proud of his good figure, especially his private parts. Therefore, even being seen by her, he wasn’t worried at all.

After he put on his clothes, he walked to the campfire and said, "The meat is burning."

When the members heard this, they quickly rushed over and removed the meat from the fire. Since he was so calm, the awkwardness slowly dissipated.

While they ate, Qin Luzi said, "Captain, should we lure those people out and get some information about the Red Cliff Base?"

"Let’s finish our meal first," Jin Xuyan nodded.

"Okay."

After their meal, Jiao Lizhi stored everything in her space, leaving a whole leg of a mutant wolf as bait. When everything was ready, Feng Yun waved his hand and removed the spatial barrier.

As soon as the barrier disappeared, Gao Bohai flicked his fingers and created a gust of wind to spread the roasted meat scent. At the same time, Qin Luzi kept an eye on his map, waiting for the prey to bite the bait.

While the Phantom Team was fishing, the "fish" were getting anxious.

While most people were making sure that there were no gaps in their windows or doors to ensure that they wouldn’t attract the attention of the mutants, the fragrance of the roasted meat still reached them when they opened the windows to check the situation outside.

At this moment, several groups of survivors who were hiding in the area 500 meters away from the Phantom Team’s location couldn’t help but swallow and clutch their stomachs.

They only had a few pieces of biscuits to ensure they did not die from starvation for the past few months. Therefore, when they smelled the roasted meat scent, they felt as if they were being tortured.

Inside one of the warehouses, a large group of people gathered on the 10th floor. There were more than 2,000 people hiding in this place, including a total of 79 mutants. Out of all the groups, their group was the largest.

Although large numbers could increase their strength, the lack of supplies was their main problem. So, despite their strength, their living conditions were the worst.

The mutants were the higher-ranking people in the group, and they were discussing the matter of the Phantom Team.

"Captain, I can’t sense the zombies’ presence anymore," a young woman in her early twenties said with surprise.

Hearing this, a man asked, "Jane, what do you mean by that? That building is crowded with so many zombies. It’s impossible for them to eliminate all of the zombies in such a short time."

Jane shook her head and replied, "Two and a half hours ago, I felt some kind of barrier blocking the area near the building."

"I couldn’t sense anything in that area with the barrier. Not long ago, the barrier disappeared suddenly, but I still can’t sense the zombies’ presence."

"Maybe those people really eliminated the zombies during that period?" another woman said.

When they heard this, everyone looked at her with a hint of disdain. After a moment of silence, their leader finally spoke up.

"Jane, Adam, Liam, David, Lucas, you will follow me. The rest stay here and keep an eye on everyone," Bryan Roosevelt said.

"Understood."

The members being called were those who had lots of combat experience and were at least level 3.

Since they didn’t know whether that group was friend or foe, it was understandable for their Captain to bring the core team members with him.

While they were checking their weapons and ammunition, Kelly walked to Bryan and said, "Captain, can I follow you this time?"

Hearing this, Bryan looked at her and said, "You are usually very timid. What makes you so courageous this time?"

She hesitated for a moment before she finally replied, "Those people might be from my Huaxia."

When he heard this, Bryan’s hand paused for a second before he continued as if nothing had happened. He didn’t even glance at her when he asked, "Are you thinking of leaving with them if they are from Huaxia?"

Kelly didn’t want to hide her intention from her Captain and nodded. "Captain, I’m grateful to you and our team members. But if I have the chance, I want to return to my motherland and find my parents."

Bryan went silent after he heard this. The air around them suddenly became heavy and suffocating. When Kelly thought that he wouldn’t agree to her request, she heard him say, "Pack up. We will leave in five minutes."

The moment she heard this, Kelly’s eyes lit up. A smile bloomed on her face as she said, "Thank you, Captain!"

Looking at her slender back, Bryan’s eyes darkened, and complex emotions surged inside him. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath to suppress his emotions.

Five minutes later, the group boarded a car and drove to the building where the zombies had been trapped.
