Chapter 874 874: The Herders ( 7 )

Li Sikai and his members continued walking. 10 minutes later, they reached an intersection. In front of them, there were three tunnels.

Seeing this, Li Sikai said in a low voice, "Fu Guai, you and Pei Yixie take the left tunnel. Feng Yun and Cheng Rui, both of you take the middle tunnel. Jian Ziqin, you come with me to the right tunnel."

Before they separated, he said, "Whether you get any information or not, gather at the entrance in two hours. Be careful."

"Understood," the members nodded.

While they were exploring the maze-like tunnel, a group of people was boarding several trucks in the area near the dormitory.

"Get on the truck, quickly," one of the guards said impatiently.

The survivors didn't dare to go against them and lowered their heads. After they boarded the truck, some of them were standing while holding onto the frame, while the rest huddled together.

No one realized that their current situation was no different from when an animal farmer was transporting their livestock.

Soon after, the truck's engine was turned on, and with several puffs of black smoke, it finally left the area.

After the trucks left, the survivors locked inside the dormitories couldn't help but stare at them. Thinking about Cheng Rui's words, their faces turned pale.

"Do you think what that person said was true?" one of them asked.

"I don't know. But I don't want to be sent away. Those who were sent away never come back," another one shook her head.

After a long silence, a man finally touched the dagger hidden in his clothes and said, "I'm leaving." He looked at his friends and asked, "Do any of you want to come with me?"

They exchanged glances for a while before a young woman said, "I'm coming with you."

When she said this, everyone looked at them. They hesitated for a long time, but they still decided to leave with him. Rather than living without any sense of security, they would rather take the gamble.

While they were discussing their plan of escaping, Feng Yun and Cheng Rui reached the end of the tunnel.

As they walked out of the tunnel, they saw countless weapons aimed at them. In front of them, a large group of guards, holding rifles, were staring at them.

Seeing this, Cheng Rui raised his eyebrows and asked in the Thirteen Colonies' language, "Such a warm welcome, it makes me shy."

Hearing his joke in a tense situation, Feng Yun let out a chuckle. He glanced at them and asked, "Hey, where is your boss?"

When the leader of the guards saw their relaxed demeanor, he narrowed his eyes and asked, "Who are you? Do you know that you are breaking into a restricted area?"

Instead of answering him, Cheng Rui took several steps forward and stood in front of him. He rubbed his chin as he scrutinized him from head to toe for a while.

"Are you one of the herders?"

Hearing his sudden question, the leader was taken aback. Without him saying a word, Cheng Rui already got his answer. Turning to Feng Yun, he said, "Ah Yun, this man knows nothing. Let's get moving."

After he said this, the guard's leader reached out to grab his shoulder. But before he could touch him, something shiny flashed in his eyes.

The next moment, something dropped to the ground with a thud. When he lowered his gaze, he was stunned to see something that looked like his arm, covered in blood, lying there.

"W-what is this…" he stammered in shock.

The guards were shocked and stared at their leader with wide eyes. They didn't know how that young man did it. They only knew that something moved, and the next second, their leader's arm was severed.

A few seconds later, the pain finally registered in the leader's mind. He clutched his arm and let out a painful scream.

"Argghh!"

The veins were popping on his forehead and neck while his face turned pale. His back was covered in cold sweat. He knelt on the ground, trying to stop the bleeding, but blood continued to flow like a broken faucet.

Seeing this, Feng Yun frowned. He pulled out his dagger and threw it toward the leader.

Stab!

The dagger pierced the man's forehead, ending his torture instantly.

Cheng Rui whistled when he saw this. Feng Yun looked at him and said, "Our Captain won't allow us to torture enemies. Either let them go or end them in one swift move."

When he heard this, Cheng Rui clicked his tongue and sighed. "You are boring."

Feng Yun ignored him and went to retrieve his dagger. Blood dripped from the tip of the dagger to the ground. Turning to the guards, he asked, "Where are the herders?"

Meeting his cold eyes, the guards felt a chill run down their spines. They were sure that the moment they refused to tell him, they would end up dead.

Reaching this conclusion, one of them quickly replied, "The herders are not here. They are living in the area near the mountain."

"Which mountain?"

"The one near the city center."

"Then, what's the usage of this place?" Feng Yun asked again.

The guard hesitated for a long time before he said, "Some of the higher-ups dislike unprocessed livestock. Here, we draw the blood and then process the meat into other products."

After he said this, Feng Yun suddenly disappeared from his spot. When he reappeared, he was standing behind them. A moment later, the group of guards fell to the ground with blood spurting out from their necks.

As the ground was stained crimson by their blood, Feng Yun said, "Let's go."

Cheng Rui was unhappy about being ordered around, but he only let out a 'tch' and still followed after him.

They walked for another 30 minutes before they reached the biggest room. The room was dome-shaped and had more than 1,000 square meters.

What surprised them was that this room was connected to the tunnels. When they arrived, the rest of the members were already there.
