A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 783 - 781: Devouring

Chapter 783: Chapter 781: Devouring

"Oh? An interesting little fellow!"

With a flash, Green grabbed the escaping shellfish, which was a creature resembling a slug, its tentacles extremely agile, crawling swiftly.

After preserving the little creature as a specimen, Green, with great interest, began to capture biological specimens extensively on the beach, occasionally exclaiming in amazement, seemingly marveling at the different evolutionary paths of crustaceans in this world.

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, accustomed to this, patiently waited nearby.

For every Wizard, in any world with different rules they visit, searching for local biological specimens to learn natural rule knowledge is instinctive. It is a necessary process for Wizards to gather surface information and explore the truth.

A few hourglasses of time later.

In the distance, Green suddenly shouted excitedly, "Thousand-Eyed Crab, come here quickly!"

The patiently waiting Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab was startled from its contemplations and swiftly flew to Green’s side, its hundreds of eyes landing on a fist-sized miniature Thousand-Eyed Crab in Green’s hand, which had opened over a dozen of its eyes.

The stark contrast between the two Thousand-Eyed Crabs was striking!

One was already over thirty meters in size, covered in red hairs, with scars all over its body from battles in various worlds, exuding an aura from its hundreds of eyes that even made these primitive little creatures tremble with fear, leaving them without any courage to flee—an ominous and terrifying sight.

The Thousand-Eyed Crab in Green’s hand was no bigger than a fist, still devoid of hair, seemingly petrified by the terrifying aura of its peer, motionless.

For this little fellow, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab must appear as a legendary prehistoric terror creature, existing on an entirely different level of life.

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab shook its head in disappointment, saying, "It has fainted."

After speaking, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab ignored it further, evidently not regarding the little one as a true peer, as it was far too weak, with no possibility of interaction between them.

This situation is much like the vast difference between ordinary humans and Official Sorcerers in the Wizard World.

Green smiled and gently tossed the little creature into the sea tides, then leapt onto the back of the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab.

"We are too close to the Space Fortress here; there’s not even a trace of a First Level creature, and we can’t achieve soul communication. Let’s keep flying forward."

In Green’s hand, an arthropod resembling a centipede scurried nimbly but could not escape the space cage Green had crafted, emitting a panicked "squee, squee, squee."

"Understood, Lord Green."

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab rose, carrying Green, and continued flying further away.

...

Seven days later.

The Shoal Tide World, influenced by the triune crescent moon’s rules in the sky, experiences chaotic internal tide patterns, often forming a natural phenomenon called ’Confluence’ at certain balance points during the March tides.

Confluence refers to large ocean areas where tidal waves collide and converge, causing weaker creatures to be uncontrollably gathered in small sea areas.

The gathering of these small crustaceans often attracts powerful creatures unaffected by the tidal impacts to come and feast, enjoying a banquet.

Above the clouds, Green stood on the back of the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, the "Face of Truth" hawk eyes observing the thousands of First Level creature groups in the Confluence, voraciously devouring the dense swarms of tiny crustaceans swept in by the tides, his eyes lighting up.

"Indeed, such a rule does facilitate the rapid evolution of more potential creatures. It seems the Stigma Sorcerer governing the Shoal Tide World has turned this place into a breeding ground, artificially influencing the evolution of this Confluence natural rule to cultivate a large amount of slave resources."

Whoosh!

Suddenly, the initially joyful feasting among the First Level creatures turned into chaos.

A Giant Turtle, stuck with sand and entangled with dark green seaweed, lunged from the silt, swiftly extending its fanged maw forward, swallowing a vast swath of small crustaceans and several First Level creatures in one gulp.

This Giant Turtle, already reaching the level of a Second-Order Creature, was a towering figure ten meters long, evidently the dominant force of this marine area, long entrenched in its sands.

"Oh? It’s that one, isn’t it."

Having said that, Green maneuvered the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab to plummet from above the clouds, its enormous shadow casting a chilling aura that rendered the previously chaotic Confluence gathering ground eerily quiet, leaving only the swarm of uncontrollably struggling tiny crustaceans in the tides, desperately flapping.

The terror-stricken Giant Turtle hastily retracted its head and attempted to dive into the sea.

The threat from a Third-Level Creature like the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab was utterly insurmountable for this Giant Turtle!

"Roar!"

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab plunged into the water as well; the Shoal Tide World lacked any truly deep seas, and in a brief moment, in a churn of silt, with a thunderous crash, the battered Giant Turtle was flung out of the water.

In the tumultuous wave, a vast number of First Level creatures fled in terror.

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab, dragging Green, slowly floated above the water, upon which Green lightly leapt and landed on the ten-meter-long Giant Turtle.

"Do you know where there are even stronger creatures?"

The Giant Turtle, under the pressure akin to a mountain every time it tried to take a breath, trembled in its limbs, not doubting that this terrifying creature would, in the next moment, unhinge its fanged maw and consume it whole—a creature on a higher level, surpassing any sea king it had ever seen in power and terror.

"No... please don’t eat me!"

Panicking in fear, the Giant Turtle—having not developed high intelligence—was but a primitive creature. Even with Green’s attempt at soul communication, he only received chaotic responses.

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab showed signs of disappointment. Green, standing upon the Giant Turtle, shook his head and was about to leave when suddenly his body shuddered, seemingly provoked by something. His eyes gradually became bloodshot, assuming a brutal and chilling glare like that of a savage.

"Hungry... so hungry..."

With a sudden droop of the extreme abyss magic staff in his hand, "Bam!" it struck the center of the turtle shell, causing cracks to spider web across its surface, whilst an iceberg formed atop the ocean.

Under the impact of the extreme cold, the anomaly of the Gravitational Field Relics, and Green’s unimaginable force, the Giant Turtle was rendered nearly lifeless with one hit, vomiting copious chunks of its internal organs.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, Green’s muscles began to swell dramatically.

Wild Instinct, first layer: Scales Returning to Ancestry; Wild Instinct, Second Layer: Ivory Armament; Wild Instinct, Level 3: Barbarian Giant; Wild Instinct, Fourth Layer: Barbarian Giant Sun Chaser!

A towering figure over fifty meters, covered in bone spikes, the Giant tore open the shattered turtle shell, brutally rending the turtle’s flesh and blood with his hands and stuffing it into his mouth, ruthlessly chewing—savagely terrifying—a true predator gnawing ceaselessly. Moments later, the Barbarian Giant devoured the entire ten-meter-long Giant Turtle before scooping up a handful, gulping down the seawater along with the swarming tiny crustaceans.

...

"What... what happened..."

Upon regaining consciousness, Green shook his head like a drunken man sobering up, trying hard to recall all that had transpired.

"For a Second-Level Wizard who chooses to refine cell evolution alongside elemental wizardry, does practicing outside the magic power source of a Sorcerer’s Tower erode one’s absolute rationality and mental will under the creeping invasion of primal killing instincts?"
