Chapter 929: Is It Worth It?

Chapter 929: Is It Worth It?

The false dreamscape that had obstructed Gione had finally been shattered apart, and when Ryuk gazed upon Gione, half of the world had been wiped out from the raw end explosion.

That is the half where the Knull army just happened to have, unluckily, taken control of.

The vision he had gotten of a broken world was true.

It had only been covered up by Aizelren’s dreamscape.

And speaking of Aizelren, Ryuk silently floated up the sky, and when he reached the place where the face had been cleaved into two halves,

His hands reached out, the void rippling, and he dragged something out from its depth.

It was a squirming flesh in the shape of a liver, and from it, a single tentacle could be seen, ending in a golden eyeball.

"Even after that attack, you still managed to save your life."

Ryuk mused, looking at that singular golden eye that flashed with an unspoken emotion.

Terror.

Absolute terror.

But that terror soon faded away into a haunting realization, and Aizelren spoke:

"You Have Gone Too Far In Your Pursuit of Power."

"The Anomaly You Have Become... Even You Do Not Seem to Fully Understand."

It said as Ryuk’s hands reached, grabbing the tentacle that held the flesh like a parasite.

"You Will Meet Your End, Ryuk Knull... Soon, In The Hands Of That Same Power That You So Desperately Pursue."

CRUSSSSSH

The sound of something being crushed rang out as Ryuk tore out the tentacle eyes from the flesh before he crushed them within his palms.

Once the tentacle was out, the flesh burned with a dreamy white light, and its rough form changed into a gem-like ball that glinted with light.

[Congratulations on Host Obtaining His Endocrine System]

The endocrine system was the part that provided hormones directly into the bloodstream, hormones that controlled emotions and fear, growth and mutation, madness, stress, and euphoria.

In a way, it is the chemical ’dreamscape’ that shapes how a being feels, evolves, and perceives reality.

Ryuk’s own endocrine system had been fused with Devilish Dream Lord Aizelren to form a vast Mind Dreamscape.

One that turns emotion and dream into tangible power that could be integrated into reality.

All six of his arms faded away, and Isha stepped out of him, eyeing the destruction around her with disbelief.

Space in the far distance where the strike had exploded showed no sign of healing, and there was an unexplainable phenomenon of time and space twisting chaotically in the location.

Most likely, it was a wound that even space itself would not heal from for millennia to come.

Half of Gione had been destroyed, ashes filling the space, and she knew what they were:

Remnants of beings that were once living.

It was utter devastation, the greatest she had ever seen, leaving her completely at a loss for words.

She turned around and found him holding onto that gem.

"All of this..." Isha whispered, looking at the destruction,

"Just for that little gem in your hand?"

A glint crossed through Ryuk’s eyes.

"Is it worth it?"

She whispered as light coalesced around Ryuk’s palms and the gem faded off.

Exhaling lightly, a comforting smile passed on Ryuk’s lips.

"It is, Isha. It will all be worth it in the end."

He said, and she flew into his arms, embracing him deeply.

"I trust you..."

_______

"Aizelren’s Soul Plate has already shattered, Knull, and the entire 540,000 Knull Armies upon Gione have also been wiped out!"

The words echoed through a pitch-black void within which was a massive table covered in dark runes, and sitting around it were a total of eleven beings.

A singular gigantic eye stared down from above upon all remaining eleven beings seated around the table.

They were all Knulls, and right now, there were plates in the air, most of them having fractured and cracked.

"Ever since he faced Zar’kul and up until now, we have lost about thirty-five percent of our Knullic population."

"And what’s worse, he has already taken down five of our powerful Knull Calamities."

"We Knulls have fallen from the most powerful Conqueror race to the second strongest after the imprisonment of Theth’Vorath, and now, with our massive losses, we have fallen to the third!"

Another devilish Elder complained in anger.

"If this continues, even if we manage to get rid of that annoying brat, a name I don’t even know if he can still be referred to, we will soon arrest the attention of the other Conqueror race and get destroyed by them."

A feminine voice echoed across the table, silence descending upon it afterward.

Red veins and fiery anger covered Knull’s eyes as he stared in fury at the shattered plates.

They were fragments of his very soul—his children.

The sight of so many broken pieces drove him into a wild, uncontrollable rage.

"Ubi ambo sunt?"

Where are they both!

Knull’s thick Voice blasted through the void.

"Ubi sunt Prima et Secunda Calamitas? Mitte eas ut eum auferant!"

Where are the First and Second Calamity!? Send them to get rid of him!

"The Second Calamity won’t be able to defeat the Son of Carnage," an Elder immediately shot back.

"Loreinel is only as strong as Aizelren himself, and Aizelren still faced destruction."

"Have you forgotten, Knull, that Ryuk is the Son of Carnage for a reason?"

"Just like his father, who grew stronger with every carnage he unleashes, Ryuk grows stronger with every calamity he brings down to their knees."

"He has already obtained Aizelren’s part and will likely fuse with it."

"If he faces Loreinel, he will find no problem bringing him down to his knees, too, and what’s worse, he would grow insanely strong after fusing with Loreinel."

"The only one who has a chance against him is the First Calamity, but..."

"You do know what will happen once the Son of Carnage gains back his full soul, don’t you?" an Elder said to Knull as a haunting silence crept up in the room.

They all knew...
